Chelsea have signed Croatian midfielder Mario Pasalic from Hajduk Split.

The Blues lost Frank Lampard this summer but have done more than enough to replace him. They've signed Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas and now have signed a prospect for the future. Mario Pasalic is a 19-year-old central midfielder whose favorite player is Frank Lampard. Pasalic will take part of Chelsea's summer tour and pre-season training but there is a chance that he gets loaned out in order to get regular playing time. Pasalic is not ready to be a starter for Chelsea and he will need to develop a bit more to make it as a regular. The best case scenario for him this season is to be a backup for Fabregas and Nemanja Matic.

Chelsea have signed Spanish midfielder Cesc Fabregas on a five-year contract.

The ex-Arsenal midfielder will wear number 4 for Chelsea. Fabregas is a versatile player who can play anywhere in midfield and has even been deployed as a striker during his time with the Spanish national team. The midfielder leaves Barcelona after three years saying he has unfinished business in the Premier League. Fabregas will likely be deployed as a central midfielder, right in front of/next to Nemanja Matic. He has proven that he can be effective in the Premier League during his time at Arsenal and should have no problem fitting right in. He will be a great fantasy option next year.

Cesc Fabregas has reportedly passed a medical at Chelsea in anticipation of a move to the Premier League side.

Rumors have been hot this summer about the Spanish midfielder leaving Barcelona to come back to the Premier League and Chelsea are the prime landing spot. If Fabregas has indeed passed his medical, a deal should be finalized soon. The move is an exciting one for Chelsea fans as a pairing between Fabregas and Nemanja Vidic could be a lethal combination. A starting front six of Diego Costa, Eden Hazard, Oscar, Willian, Fabregas, and Matic would put fear in the rest of the Premier League.

Frank Lampard has confirmed that he won't return to Chelsea next season after 13 years at the club.

Lampard leaves Chelsea with 648 appearances and a club-high 211 goals. He has 3 BPL titles and a Champions League title among a Europa League, 4 FA Cups, and 2 League Cups. He is the club's most decorated player and leaves the Blues as a legend. There have been numerous sources linking Lampard with new MLS team New York City FC and we believe a move to the United States is imminent. Despite that, Lampard has stated he will not decide until after the World Cup.

Chelsea's Frank Lampard is set to join new MLS team New York City FC after 13 years with the Blues.

Lampard's contract at Chelsea has run its course and the Blues legend seems to have preferred a move to New York over staying in the Premier League. The truth is, Lampard has visibly slowed down and is no longer the player he used to be. His playing time was cut short last season and was expected to decrease even more. The money, the great city of New York, and the promise for more playing time makes sense for a move in this stage of his career. New York City FC are also rumored to be after striker David Villa. Villa and Lampard would give them a fantastic core to build around.

Frank Lampard's future at Chelsea remains uncertain after the midfielder was included on Chelsea's list of released players.

Being on the released list doesn't mean that Lampard won't be in a Chelsea uniform next year but it does raise a question about his future. There have been transfer speculations about Lampard but there has also been talk from both Lampard and Chelsea that there is mutual interest between the two parties. There could be many reasons why they haven't reached an agreement yet. Chelsea have a strict policy of doing a maximum of one-year deals with players over the age of 30 and Lampard might be looking for a longer term deal. Another possibility is that the English international might be looking for regular team football, something he likely won't get at Chelsea. Expect a deal to be reached after the World Cup, whether with Chelsea or another club.

Frank Lampard and Rio Ferdinand have been linked with free transfers to newly promoted Queens Park Rangers.

Some people just don't learn. After spending a season in the Championship because their overpriced veterans and mercenaries were terrible in the Premier League, Queens Park Rangers have been linked with, of course, two more aging stars who will cost a lot of money and likely not play up to their salaries. After paying Loic Remy, Adel Taarabt, Julio Cesar and others to play for other clubs last season, this seems like terrible business but it will make headlines.

Frank Lampard and Gary Cahill will be Chelsea's only two representatives in England's World Cup squad in Brazil this summer.

After years of Frank Lampard, John Terry, and Ashley Cole being core England starters and other Chelsea players making the reserves, it is jarring to see only two Chelsea players on the England squad and only one with a chance to start. The aging of the Chelsea squad and the need to refresh significantly is underlined by the minimal representation the Blues have on the England squad for this summer. It is hard to believe that the same will be true in two years time when the roster for Euro 2016 is revealed.

Frank Lampard could miss Chelsea's match this weekend through an illness.

Jose Mourinho stated earlier in the day that Lampard is ill and in bed. It seems serious enough to keep him out of a meaningless game and we can anticipate that John Obi Mikel will start in his place alongside Nemanja Matic. There is a also a chance that youngster Marco van Ginkel makes a start, as he's been in the squad for a few matches now after recovering from a torn ACL.
May 9 - 3:01 PM

Frank Lampard and John Obi MIkel were both booked and will miss the return leg of Chelsea's Champions League tie with Atletico Madrid.

The injury and suspension list for Chelsea's second leg of the Champions League semi-finals is growing and the Blues are now left with no reliable defensive midfielders. David Luiz will have to play in defense, Lampard and Mikel are suspended, and Nemanja Matic is cup tied. Ramires is almost guaranteed to start the match and we can also see Marko van Ginkel, who returned to the bench today after a long injury absence.

Frank Lampard started his 400th Premier League game for Chelsea over the weekend.

Lampard moved above David James as the second all-time record appearance maker in the Premier League. This was his 573rd game in England's top flight. Despite starting the game, Lampard registered a poor fantasy output with negative 2 points. He only played the first half and it seems he has been relegated to second on the pecking order at Chelsea. Nemanja Matic is almost guaranteed to start every game and Ramires is getting more playing time, presumably due to fitness and age. Lampard is on the wrong side of 35 and is not getting enough time on the pitch to be premium fantasy option like in seasons past.

Frank Lampard came off the bench shortly after the hour mark in Chelsea's last game but will likely start this week.

Lampard played the full 90 minutes in Chelsea's FA Cup match last Sunday and a little less than half an hour against West Ham on Wednesday. He looked fresh and active against West Ham, putting a few shots towards the goal. Only one of those shots was on target and Lampard finished with four fantasy points. He will likely start against Manchester City on Monday and has a history of coming up big in big games, making him an interesting pick this week.

Frank Lampard returned to Chelsea's match day squad but was left on the bench after missing two games with a leg injury.

It sounds like Lampard is not fit enough for a full 90 minutes but is healthy enough to play a part in the game. With the next game coming ten day from now, expect Lampard to be fully healthy and fit. You can start using him in fantasy as soon as next week.

Frank Lampard could return a week earlier than anticipated to face Manchester United in an important Premier League match.

It's unknown if Lampard will be able to make it or if he would start, but it looks like he is very close to a return. I wouldn't trust Lampard in fantasy this week because of the uncertainty, but he can be a good option once he returns with his regular role.
