Branislav Ivanovic was named in the Champions League squad of the season after another impressive season with Chelsea.
Ivanovic was the only Premier League player to be named in the squad, which was an 18-man list of players dominated by Barcelona. Ivanovic was spectacular in both the Champions League and Premier League and finished the season without missing a single minute of Premier League action. The heavy minutes once again resulted in a stellar fantasy performance across all platforms and Ivanovic should be one of the first defenders off the board next season. Jun 14 - 5:20 AM

Chelsea have all but sealed the Premier League title after bouncing back from a 1-0 deficit to beat Leicester City 1-3.

It was a tale of two halves as Leicester took the initial lead into halftime with a stoppage time goal and had plenty of momentum while the Chelsea attack looked sluggish. Jose Mourinho must have dropped the hammer during the break because the Blues came out strong in the 2nd, equalizing within three minutes into the second frame with a Didier Drogba goal. He was teed up by Branislav Ivanovic, who was in his usual attacking form. The game was still level into the 79th minute, but then the wheels came off for the Foxes defense, and goals were grabbed by John Terry and Ramires just four minutes apart to put the game to bed. Two points are needed to lock in the title for Chelsea with four games to go. They could be in for a parade next week.

Branislav Ivanovic scored again in Chelsea's Premier League match against Burnley yesterday despite carrying a minor knock.

Ivanovic was a slight risk for the match but Mourinho decided the Serbian defender was too important to miss and played him regardless. It turned out to be the right decision as Ivanovic proved his worth once again with yet another goal. The defender plays like a midfielder most of the time and his offensive production is a great compliment to his ability to earn a clean sheet bonus. He is one of the best fantasy defenders in the game this year and should be owned in all formats.

Branislav Ivanovic is carrying a minor knock and will be a risk when Chelsea face Burnley this weekend.

Chelsea are huge favorites against Burnley so it's not out of the question that Ivanovic is simply rested to avoid aggravating the injury. It's also worth noting Oscar and Willian are also dealing with minor knocks, so all could be rested in such a easy matchup. Juan Cuadrado, Eden Hazard, Cesc Fabregas, and Ramires would all benefit if any of the above were to be rested. If Ivanovic sits, Felipe Luis and Cesar Azpilicueta will work the flanks.

Branislav Ivanovic scored in Chelsea's 1-1 draw against Paris-Saint Germain.

Ivanovic has been on fire lately and this was yet another sign he can't be ignored in fantasy. The goal that he scored against PSG was spectacular and it came from one of the least likely ways. John Terry crossed the ball to Gary Cahill, who flicked it skillfully before Ivanovic finished with a header. Chelsea will host PSG in the second leg.

Branislav Ivanovic will not be charged by the FA for an incident that occurred in Chelsea's match against Everton in midweek.

Ivanovic and James McCarthy clashed heads in the 86th minute of of the match right after Gareth Barry was sent off. Ivanovic was seen grabbing McCarthy around the neck and then head-butted him slightly. McCarthy was booked, while Ivanovic was let off easy. The Chelsea defender has been a great fantasy asset this season and managers will be happy he has avoided punishment during his crucial time of the year. Continue to employ him as you normally would.

Branislav Ivanovic scored a late second half goal to give Chelsea a 2-1 win at Villa Park.

Chelsea were by far the better team at the beginning of the match and opened up the scoring through an easy goal from Eden Hazard. Aston Villa were able to rebound well and caused the Blues some trouble, including a goal from Jores Okore to level things up. The Blues looked stunned for a while but were then able to recover and find a goal from Branislav Ivanovic after a cross from the opposite wing back, Cesar Azpilicueta. This was a title defining win from Chelsea, who now have a seven point lead with 14matches left in the season.

Branislav Ivanovic is an early doubt for Saturdays’ top-of-the-table clash against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge after the Capital One goalscoring hero picked up a nasty foot injury against Liverpool.

Ivanovic grabbed the all-important winning goal on Wednesday night to secure a Wembley appearance - Capital One cup final – and after 120 gruelling minutes the defender revealed he had been playing through the pain-barrier as his lacerated foot seeped blood through his boots. It’s unclear whether Ivanovic will need stitches but Mourinho did confirm the player would be assessed ahead of the game along with Fabregas [hamstring] and Luis [calf]. Diego Costa is also facing a three game ban – violent conduct – for his ‘alleged’ stamp on Emre Can – the Spanish international has until 6pm GMT to lodge an appeal.

Branislav Ivanovic was sent off in Chelsea's 1-1 draw against Manchester United for clipping Angel di Maria's heel.

Ivanovic received his second yellow after clipping Di Maria down the flank in the final moments of the match. The ensuring free-kick resulted in a scramble in the box which ended with a Robin van Persie goal. The decision to send off Ivanovic was slightly controversial but the video in the link below shows that he did indeed clip Di Maria's heel. Ivanovic will only miss one match since the red was a result of a second yellow and since Cesar Azpilicueta is also suspended, we expect Chelsea to utilize Kurt Zouma or Nathan Ake at right-back next week.

Branislav Ivanovic is tipped to perform well for Chelsea against Manchester United.

Manchester United appear unable to defend at the moment, particularity at set-pieces, and Ivanovic is one of the most dangerous players in the opposition's box. The defender is pricey, but a goal is very possible and you know he'll give 100% for the Chelsea cause. An excellent pick for Week 9 if you can afford him.

Branislav Ivanovic was as solid as ever in Chelsea's 3-1 win over Burnley today.

Ivanovic topped his performance with a goal when he finished a Cesc Fabregas corner with ease. He was also solid on defense, as Chelsea only allowed one goal on a John Terry mistake early in the first half. The Blues did look a little suspect on defense at times but Mourinho has proven his ability to organize a defense well and all major pieces from the Premier League's best defensive unit are still at Stamford Bridge. Ivanovic looks like a solid fantasy choice once again this year.

Branislav Ivanovic scored Serbia's lone goal in a 1-1 draw against Panama.

Neither team is playing in the World Cup this summer so neither squad was too motivated for this match. The Chelsea defender stood out and scored the goal for Serbia. Premier League stars Aleksander Kolarov and Nemanja Matic also started for Serbia. Gabriel Gómez was the scorer for Panama and Carlos Rodríguez was sent off for a second yellow card.

Branislav Ivanovic is suspended for Chelsea's Champions League clash with Atletico Madrid.

Ivanovic will sit this one out and get a break he probably needs. The Serbian has played in a total of 46 matches this season: 33 in the Premier League, 2 in the FA Cup, and 11 in European competitions. David Luiz or Ashley cole will replace him in the starting lineup. Ivanovic will be ready to return to action over the weekend but is not a great fantasy choice as Chelsea travel to Anfield to face red hot Liverpool.

Chelsea went up a goal shortly before halftime against West Brom on Tuesday, but a late equalizer left Jose Mourinho's side stunned.

Everything seemed to be going according to plan. Chelsea were up a goal and looked poised to record their fourth straight clean sheet until a 87th minute header from Victor Anichebe tied things up at one a piece. The Blues were well on their way to recording its eighth clean sheet in the teams' last 11 games, but the persistence from West Brom and the support of its fans was just too much. Chelsea drop to 6-4-3 in away fixtures, but still remain atop the Barclays Premier League table with 57 points. Their next game is at home against Everton on February 22.

Chelsea made a huge statement by handing Manchester City their first loss at home this season with a nervy 0-1 victory, thanks to a goal scored by Branislav Ivanovic.

Jose Mourinho had a defensive approach in mind, going with just three pure attacking players and the final scoreline was exactly what he had in mind. Chelsea were able to expose the City defense on counter attacks, and shortly after the half hour mark, a Ramires shot was blocked by Vincent Kompany into the path of Ivanovic, and he took a left footed strike that scorched the back of the net. City's attempts to level in the second half were thwarted time and again, with fine work from the entire back line. Ivanovic had the big day in fantasy terms, but any Chelsea defender is looking attractive after shutting down the most prolific home scoring team in the league.
