Sunderland midfielder Alfred N'Diaye has joined Real Betis on loan for the rest of the season.
The 23-year-old tough tackling midfielder started the season with a loan spell at Turkish club Eskisehirspor and scored three goals in 16 appearances, impressing enough to earn a recall to the Senegal national side. There has been rumours that Gus Poyet intended to recall N'Diaye, but instead he's been loaned out to Betis for the rest of the campaign. Jan 31 - 2:36 AM

Gus Poyet has refused to rule out the possibility of bringing loan stars such as Alfred N'Diaye back to Sunderland.

N'Diaye was one of Martin O'Neill's signings but Paolo Di Canio lost faith in the player and sent him out on a season-long loan to Turkish side Eskisehirspor back in July. However, the tough tackling midfielder has impressed in Turkey and earned himself an international recall with Senegal, so with Lee Cattermole often suspended it would make sense for Gus Poyet to recall N'Diaye at the earliest opportunity.

Sunderland midfielder Alfred N'Diaye has joined Turkish side Eskisehirspor on a season-long loan deal.

N'Diaye was one of Martin O'Neill's signings but he has struggled to adapt to the Premier League and it appears Paolo Di Canio has lost faith. The Black Cats boss has added nine players to his squad this summer including midfielder El-Hadji Ba, who plays in the same position and is considered a brighter prospect.

Le Havre midfielder El-Hadji Ba yesterday confirmed via French newspaper L’Equipe that he has agreed a three-year contract with Sunderland.

There has been no official confirmation from either Sunderland or Le Havre but this sounds like a done deal. Ba is a 20-year old defensive midfielder, similar in style to his countryman Alfred N’Diaye, and could either go straight in to the senior squad or spend some time in the development squad while he adjusts to English football. He is Sunderland's fourth free transfer signing of the week after Valentin Roberge, Modibo Diakite and Cabral.

Alfred N'Diaye says there are no problems between Sunderland's players and Paolo Di Canio and he has backed the manager's stricter approach.

N'Diaye is the second player to release positive comments about Di Canio this week after Adam Johnson did the same on Wednesday. One would think both men have stayed on the Italian's good side so it would be a decent bet that both will be at the Stadium of Light come the start of the new season.
