Grant Holt scored Aston Villa's lone goal in a 2-1 loss to Fulham at Villa Park.
Aston Villa have been hit hard by the injury bug and Grant Holt had to step in to replace the injured Libor Kozak and Christian Benteke. Even though Holt scored, he shouldn't be used in fantasy very often. He is not a great striker and his production is bound to be inconsistent at best. In other news, Ryan Bertrand started the game as a midfielder. He ended the day with only 5 fantasy points but considering he is eligible for clean sheet points, he should be considered for fantasy. Wigan Athletic striker Grant Holt will join Aston Villa on loan for the rest of the season.

Christian Benteke opened up the 2013 season scoring four goals in his first four matches, but in the last 17 weeks he's managed to find the net just once. Holt himself has only scored twice in 21 games for Wigan, but Villa boss Paul Lambert is hoping he can turn it around as well. The Lions have scored a league-low eight goals at home this season and will need to keep pace if they want to remain mid-table. With away fixtures against Liverpool and Everton in two of the next three weeks, it could be troublesome to watch for Villa fans. Holt will be a cheap option, but not someone worth taking a flier on anytime soon.

32-year old striker Grant Holt has officially joined Wigan Athletic from Norwich City.

Holt cites the opportunity to play in the Europa League as a motivation for this move, though regular playing time was probably more of a consideration. European nights at the DW Stadium are a fascinating sideshow, however, to say the least.

Grant Holt will have a medical at Wigan in advance of a move to the Championship club

Wigan need to bolster their attack having just sold leading scorer Aroune Kone to Everton. Holt was quickly becoming surplus-to-requirements at Norwich with the capture of Ricky van Wolfswinkel and possibly Ola Toivonen. It is a move that likely suits all involved.

Grant Holt is attracting interest from Crystal Palace as they look to bolster their squad for another bow in the top flight.

Holt's time at Norwich seems to be drawing to a close with the club having signed Ricky van Wolfswinkel and linked to several other strikers. Crystal Palace could offer Holt another chance at Premier League starts and he could give them the goals they'll need to compete.

Norwich have agreed a fee with PSV Eindhoven for striker Ola Toivonen.

Norwich are addressing their lack of goals by signing rising Dutch star Ricky van Wolfswinkel and now they're close to adding Toivonen. Both are versatile attackers and have good goal-scoring records in their respective leagues. There's always the "can they adapt to the Premier League" question, but no question that Norwich are making moves to improve their side.
