John Heitinga scored a consolation goal against Chelsea after his team was already down 3-0.
Heitinga's goal proved worthless as Fulham weren't able to threaten Chelsea at all. Heitinga has played in Fulham's last four games but his fantasy output has been limited by the two yellow cards he received in that span. If he continues to be an attacking threat, he could hold some value in the future. Fulham remain in last place and are struggling to find positive news as they continue to lose week after week. John Heitinga signs with Fulham FC, ending a four and a half year stint with Everton.

With Phillipe Senderos departing for Valencia CF just moments ago, Heitinga comes in to replace him, providing a veteran presence while Dan Burn continues to develop. Heitinga could not crack the starting XI all season long, making just one appearance as a substitute. Hopefully he can give Fulham a much needed boost in the middle of defense.

Everton defender John Heitinga rejected a transfer to West Ham United because he didn't think it was a smart decision for his future.

"At my age it's important to make the right decisions. Then it's not all about the money, as that wasn't a problem at West Ham United. You have to be fully convinced that you will make the right step and I didn't have that. Therefore I have cancelled (the move to) West Ham United and we will now wait for the interest of other clubs. The interest is there already, so I am confident I will find another club before January 31st. I want to play every game again, as I am still hungry for the ball. I am fully fit and a player on top of my strengths. I want to go to the World Cup in Brazil. I know that national coach Louis Van Gaal requires his selected players playing weekly. At the moment, that's not the situation at Everton and therefore I am now looking for other options to get a successful continuation of my career." Heitinga is completely out of favor under Roberto Martinez. It would take a miracle for him to get in the starting lineup anytime soon.

Battling niggles for most of the season, it has been revealed that Everton defender John Heitinga now suffers from a groin injury, but manager Roberto Martinez is hopeful the veteran will be in contention soon.

Heitinga has not played a minute this season in the Premier League, making just two appearances in cup play thus far. If he can ever get back into the XI, he will be a bargain for Everton defensive coverage if you aren't willing to splurge on Leighton Baines.

Everton D John Heitinga admitted he could leave the club this summer.

"If they want to earn something for me, this is the moment," Heitinga said. "I have made no arrangement with the club about that." Heitinga has one-year left on his deal but has said that the club could be entertaining offers for him in hopes of getting something in return before he leaves next summer. Fernabahce have been linked to the defender.
