Brazil could not recover from the blowout loss to Germany in the semi-finals as they were defeated by The Netherlands 0-3, ending their World Cup run in embarrassing fashion.
Part of the outcome today belongs to a few blown calls by the referee, but in the end, Brazil were beaten fairly by a Dutch side that showed their dominance on both sides of the ball. Oscar put in a decent shift and the hosts were not without their chances, but the key pass to give an attacker a clear shot on target was not to be had. Meanwhile, the defense showed a lack of cohesion that was evident in their semi-final drubbing. They finish the tournament by being outscored 10-1 and their streak of avoiding back-to-back losses at home of any variety, a record older than the actual Girl From Ipanema, comes to a bitter end. Brazil's Oscar has admitted that he's had contact with Paris Saint-Germain but insists he's staying at Chelsea.

Oscar has been a huge part of Brazil's World Cup roster so far and he has shown big improvement over the past couple of years. Oscar should be a huge part of what Chelsea do next season and we don't anticipate him leaving. Jose Mourinho has repeatedly admitted that he likes Oscar and we don't expect that to change. Oscar and Brazil face Chile in the next round of the World Cup on Saturday. Expect him to continue being a big part of that team.

Brazil XI:Julio Cesar, Dani Alves, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, Marcelo, Paulinho, Fred, Neymar, Oscar, Ramires, Luiz Gustavo

One change as Chelsea's Ramires makes his way into the side for the injured Hulk as the first of the 2nd round of group play gets set to kickoff.

Brazil overcame an early own goal and benefited from a questionable penalty given to them as a Neymar brace led the way to three points for the host country in the 3-1 final over Croatia.

From a PL standpoint, Oscar was the major storyline, looking sharp as the playmaker throughout the match. He assisted Neymar's goal from open play and added a goal of his own to put the game out of reach in the closing minutes. By the time it was all said and done, it was hard to argue against Brazil being the better side, especially in the final third, but they will need to improve their focus as they get deeper into the tournament.

Brazil XI: Cesar; D.Alves, T.Silva, D.Luiz, Marcelo; Paulinho, L.Gustavo; Hulk, Oscar, Neymar; Fred

No surprises in the XI for Brazil in their 4-2-3-1 formation as they get set to kick off World Cup 2014.

Oscar continues to be bothered with an ongoing hip injury and he missed Chelsea's match against Norwich last weekend.

Oscar has been dealing with the problem for a few weeks now but the problem doesn't seem too serious. The young midfielder is likely to be fully rested or at least start on the bench in Chelsea's next match as he is getting ready to feature in the World Cup for Brazil this summer. The World Cup can provide the youngster with some great experience as he looks to establish a consistent role in Chelsea's first team next season. If he has a consistent starting job, Oscar can be a great fantasy pick all season long.

Chelsea midfielder Oscar is to be assessed before the club faces Norwich on Sunday.

Oscar is dealing with a hip problem and is considered a doubt for the Norwich match. With Chelsea facing the worst away team in the Premier League and being almost out of the title race, I wouldn't be surprised to see Oscar on the bench or outside of the game squad. He is not a great option in fantasy and you should look elsewhere for production.

Chelsea extended their lead at the top of the table by grabbing three points in convincing fashion, dismantling Arsenal 6-0.

Chelsea made a clear statement about their title bid today, running roughshod over Arsenal and finishing expertly on the attack. Samuel Eto'o opened the scoring with a pretty left footed curler, only to be substituted shortly after with an injury. Andre Shurrle was next, nutmegging Laurent Koscielny and finding the back of the net. The third goal was from the spot, which Eden Hazard converted. The next two goals would come from Oscar, one on either side of the half as the rout was on. Mohamed Salah would grab the final goal from off the bench. With a clean sheet as icing on the cake, Chelsea had an enormous day in fantasy from everywhere around. Invest quickly as their prices will be on the rise.

Jose Mourinho believes Oscar's lack of form is due to weather and fatigue.

Oscar was one of Chelsea's best players at the beginning of the season but his form has declined over the last few months and Mourinho believes that's a result of tough weather and consistent matches. Chelsea have had a lot on their plate between the FA Cup, the Champions League, and the Premier League, so Oscar has indeed been involved in a lot of games. Hopefully some rest and rehabilitation can get Oscar back to his early season form, as he can be a game changer for both Chelsea and fantasy managers alike.

Oscar and Juan Mata have both been omitted from Chelsea's starting lineup against Arsenal.

Jose Mourinho chose to go with a very conservative lineup that features John Obi Mikel, Frank Lampard, Ramires, Willian, and Eden Hazard. Mourinho explained that Obi Mikel gives him a good positional balance and that's why he chose to go with him in the starting XI. Look for Oscar or Mata to feature if Chelsea find themselves behind in the second half.

Oscar returned from injury today to play a little over an hour in Chelsea's win over Steaua Bucharest.

Oscar is obviously past the ankle injury and should start again on Saturday against Crystal Palace. Feel free to use him in a winnable game for Chelsea. He set up the only goal of the game today and will again be very involved in the attack on Saturday.

Oscar will face a late fitness test and is considered 50/50 for the match against Stoke City on Saturday.

If Oscar can't go because of the ankle, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, and one of Willian or Andre Schurrle will likely start for Chelsea. That is not a guarantee because this is Chelsea's third match in seven days and Jose Mourinho could choose to rest some players. The Blues need to be careful as Stoke have shown solid defense when playing at home.

Oscar has been ruled out of Wednesday's game against Sunderland with the ankle injury he picked up over the weekend.

The injury is not considered serious and Oscar is expected back soon. In his absence, Juan Mata will likely replace him in the starting lineup after a solid performance against Southampton. David Luiz is also ruled out of the game with a knee injury.

Oscar delivered the first of two Chelsea goals and the Blues cruise to a 2-0 win at Stamford Bridge.

Fulham put up a good fight, keeping the score 0-0 at the break, but Chelsea eventually broke them down. In the 52nd minute, the Cottagers were caught flat-footed as keeper David Stockdale did all he could to make two saves, the second of which landed at the feet of Oscar, just a few yards in front of net, and he tapped it in. Mourinho heaped praise on the young Brazilian earlier in the week, touting him as his "current #10". While rotation still runs rampant at Stamford Bridge, Oscar is looking more and more nailed on with each passing week.
