Titus Bramble is training with West Ham after he was released from Sunderland earlier this summer.
Bramble had some problems with Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio and ended up being released from Sunderland. The 31 year old defender is now training with West Ham, presumably for a back-up position, since in my opinion he does not possess the quality to start for a top 10 Premier League team. Outgoing defender Titus Bramble has told Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio he has an overinflated ego and will rapidly lose the dressing room if he continues to be more concerned with his image than his players.

It's difficult to be certain if Bramble's quotes are a case of sour-grapes after he was not offered a new deal at the Stadium of Light, but his interview with The Telegraph does fall in line with the opinions of many players at Di Canio's previous club Swindon. If there are unhappy players at Sunderland then we may see some more departures this summer.

Sky Sports sources understand Sunderland have agreed to sign centre-back Modibo Diakite from Lazio.

This is a fine piece of business from Sunderland - and important given the fact they are releasing Titus Bramble and Matt Kilgallon. Phil Bardsley is also facing an uncertain future, whilst Wes Brown is struggling with a long term injury.

Sunderland have released defenders Titus Bramble and Matt Kilgallon, striker Ryan Noble, 21, midfielder Adam Reed, 22, and 20-year-old goalkeeper Ben Wilson.

These are the first signs of Paulo Di Canio reshaping his squad in an attempt to ensure the club are not in a relegation battle next season. Releasing five players will free up some cash for the salaries of incoming additions.

Titus Bramble is reportedly considering a move to the MLS with his Sunderland contract ending in June.

Bramble has had a tough career with a number of high-profile mistakes (on and off the field) tarnishing his reputation but it appears an unnamed MLS club feels the 32-year old can offer something for another season or two. With Phil Bardsley and Matt Kilgallon also rumoured to be heading for the exit this would leave Sunderland with only John O’Shea, Carlos Cuellar and the permanently injured Wes Brown as recognised defenders on the books. Paulo Di Canio will certainly be looking to do some business this summer.
