Guy Demel will miss West Ham's match against Burnley due to a calf problem.
Demel has had trouble cracking the starting XI this season even when healthy, but the injuries he's suffered all season long have added to the horrendous season. He is droppable in all formats at this point in time. Fri, May 1, 2015 05:13:00 PM

Guy Demel should be close to full fitness by now but is not a regular starter due to depth at the position.

The Hammers have a lot of depth at center-back and it seems Carl Jenkinson is the preferred choice at right-back, meaning Demel will be on the bench most weeks. It's safe to drop Demel in almost all formats, although with the amount of injuries in West Ham's defense, he can be a nice backup at any time.

Guy Demel is still recovering from a knock and is likely to miss Wednesday's match against Southampton.

Demel missed the weekend match against Manchester United and is doubtful to be fit for the Saints clash in midweek. With West Ham's defensive line decimated by injuries, James Tomkins and Cheikhou Kouyate are the most likely central-defender duo for the match. Kouyate is the better fantasy option from the two as he likes to go forward and is a real threat on set-pieces. He is also in great form after scoring against Manchester United.

Guy Demel started West Ham's midweek Capital One Cup match and looked healthy.

Demel is healthy again and has the right-back position to himself after his competition suffered injuries in recent weeks. West Ham have a good defense that is solid year after year and Demel should be a good pick for the next few weeks while he has the starting spot. On top of that, West Ham face an average squad in Southampton this week and could very well keep a clean sheet.

Guy Demel missed West Ham's last match due to an illness but is expected to return to the squad this weekend.

Demel was replaced by George McCartney in the starting XI. West Ham have several options on defense, many of them good but not great, so it's hard to determine who gets the starting job in any of the last three matches. On top of that, West Ham have a fairly tough schedule to close out the season. Consider defenders from other clubs to finish the fantasy Premier League season.

Guy Demel scored at the stroke of halftime but West Ham couldn't hold off Liverpool and lost 2-1 to the league leaders at Upton Park.

The Hammers' lone goal was surrounded in controversy as Andy Carroll seemed to interfere with Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet as the keeper was trying to collect Mark Noble's corner kick. Carroll's (seemingly unintentional but still illegal) hand to Mignolet's arm saw the ball jarred loose for Guy Demel to score. The Demel goal almost immediately cancelled out Gerrard's first penalty but Adrian brought down John Flanagan in the box to give Gerrard a second chance from the spot. Gerrard made no mistake and the match ended 2-1 Liverpool.

Guy Demel has been going through an illness but is expected to be fully fit for West Ham's match on Saturday.

Demel has been a decent fantasy option lately but a big reason for that have been the clean sheets West Ham have gotten. The Hammers face Everton away from home this week and a clean sheet is much less likely. I don't recommend Demel this week.

Guy Demel has not recovered from the concussion that he suffered last week and will miss West Ham's match against Newcastle.

Demel's injury leaves the Hammers extremely thin at center-back and Newcastle's attack should have no problem breaking them down on Saturday. I would feel good investing in Newcastle attackers, especially considering West Ham have allowed 22 goals in their past seven matches.

Guy Demel has been released from the hospital after spending a night there with a concussion.

Demel suffered the concussion in West Ham's 2-0 win over Cardiff and had to be taken off the field on a stretcher. Demel was replaced by George McCartney. There is no news on his expected return to the pitch but concussions usually don't take too long to recover from and Demel should be back within a week or two.
