Aston Villa continued their strong start of the season with a win over Hull City.
Andreas Weimann and Gabby Agbonlahor both netted for Villa on way to a 2-1 win over Hull City. They now have seven points from their first three matches and considering only 34 were needed to stay up in the Premier League last season, they are very well on course to stay up even their strong form goes away when they meet tougher opposition. They are also expecting a boost from Christian Benteke and Libor Kozak later in the season, and could potentially fight for a top 10 spot if they can remain competitive until their strikers' return. Andreas Weimann scored to put Aston Villa ahead for good in their 1-0 win over Stoke City.

This was one of the surprising results today as Stoke City have been very consistent at home. On top of that, Aston Villa were missing their big striker options and it's surprising they were able to find a goal. The win is a big one for Aston Villa and will relieve some of the pressure on Paul Lambert, who's been criticized for having a poor summer and poor last few season at Villa Park. Things can only go up from here for Aston Villa as they await the returns of Libor Kozak and Christian Benteke.

Premier League teams are battling for the signature of Spanish midfielder/forward Aleix Vidal.

Vidal can play anywhere in midfield or can lead the line and has impressed this season at Spanish club Almeria. West Ham, Newcastle, Aston Villa, and Everton are all rumored to be after his signature but will face competition from Spanish sides as well. The big number of suitors should increase Vidal's price but his skill set should be worth every penny. If he is in the Premier League next season, Vidal will be a very good fantasy option, especially if he's classified as a midfielder.

Andreas Weimann scored a brace on the way to a 3-1 win for Aston Villa over Hull City.

Villa opened up the scoring early through an Ashley Westwood goal but it was Weimman's brace that put them over the top. The only way Aston Villa are relegated now is if Norwich make up 17 goals in goal difference over the last two matches of the season. Considering Norwich play Chelsea and Arsenal, the odds of that are practically zero. Villa has had a fairly mediocre season, suffering from season ending injuries to Christian Benteke and Libor Kozak among a series of other injury problems to their core players. No one's job is safe in the Premier League, but Paul Lambert should get another year to show what he can do with a healthy squad.

Andreas Weimann has recovered from a dead leg and is expected to play against Manchester United on Saturday.

Weimann has averaged less than 2.3 points per game over his last seven games and shouldn't be considered in any league format. He does, however, raise the value of Christian Benteke. Benteke plays better when he has both Weimann and Gabby Agbonlahor supporting him and considering his recent form, he can be considered for the match against Manchester.

Andreas Weimann is fighting for a starting spot in Villa's XI against Newcastle this weekend.

Weimann made a late appearance as a substitute last time out and will likely be fit for a full 90 minutes against Newcastle. His fantasy upside is fairly low but he increases the value of Christian Benteke and Gabby Agbonlahor when he's on the pitch.

Andreas Weimann looked healthy in his return from injury in today's game against West Brom.

Weimann set up the first goal for Aston Villa by heading the ball down to Karim El Ahmadi. He is an important part of the VIlla offense and will likely regain his starting spot upon his return to full match fitness.

Aston Villa forward Andreas Weimann is working hard to be fit for Monday's game against West Brom but it's still unknown if he will make it.

Weimann missed Aston Villa's game against Cardiff because of a hamstring injury but is battling hard to be fit for West Brom. The striker hasn't been able to score many this season but feels like he could go on a run if he breaks his goal drought. It's good to see Weimann confident and Villa fans will need him to go on a run considering teammate Christian Benteke is in a mini goal drought himself.

Andreas Weimann was forced off against West Ham with what appears to be a hamstring injury.

While Aston Villa don't know the severity of the injury yet, it's likely that Weimann will miss the match against Cardiff City and be given a full three weeks (with the international break upcoming) to recover.

Aston Villa stunningly defeated Manchester City at home in an exciting 3-2 game.

Manchester City dominated the majority of the game but late goals from Leandro Bacuna and Andreas Weimann were enough for an unlikely Villa comeback. Paul Lambert must be pleased with the way his team fought after being down 2-1 and this is a great win for Villa considering Benteke's absense. This is a concern for Manchester City as they continue making mistakes against lesser oppositions.

Andreas Weimann and Christian Benteke put Aston Villa ahead 2-0 in the first half before Fabian Delph finished off the scoring in the second for a 3-0 win over Rotherham.

Aston Villa put out a very similar starting lineup against Rotherham in the Capital One Cup as they have in the Premier League this season and easily come out with a 3-0 win. Andreas Weimann has been playing well for Villa this season and should continue starting. He's back from his hip injury and there seems to be no health concerns right now.

Aston Villa's Andreas Weimann is expected to miss two weeks due to a hip injury.

The good news is that the injury should not affect Weimann into the season. The problem here is that with Benteke back at Villa Park, Weimann will not be as important to Villa and he certainly won't be rushed back into action. Unless he is 100%, he likely won't be playing. Considering he is back as projected, he can pick up valuable minutes in week one since Villa may have to play two games.

Aston Villa registered their fourth draw of the preseason out of four games in a 2-2 clash with Wycombe Wanderers.

The highlight of the match was that Andreas Weimann left the game before half-time with an injury. There is no report yet on the injury, so make sure to monitor Weimann's status as we approach the beginning of the season. The two goals for Villa came from Matt Lowton and Ashley Westwood, with Westwood's goal coming from a free kick.

Andreas Weimann has signed a new three year deal with Aston Villa and is happy to remain at the club.

Weimann socred 12 goals last season, seven in the Premier League. That was good for third best for Villa behind Benteke and Agbonlahor. The striker is expected to be the first option for Villa if they part ways with popular Benteke. There are multiple offers from big clubs for Benteke, and that may benefit Weimann if he is left as Villa's number one choice.
