Premier League new boys Norwich City target the Man City striker to lead their assault next season.
Promoted Norwich will have painful memories of the chronic lack of goals that cost them their PL status the season before last. The Canaries registered the 4th lowest goals total in PL history – just 28. With the combined, ahem, ‘talents’ of Luciano Becchio, Ricky van Wolfswinkel, Johan Elmander and Gary Hooper managing just 10 between them (from 94 appearances). John Guidetti has been identified as the man to provide the goals next season, after hitting 15 in 35 matches on loan at Celtic. Fantasy managers should tread carefully though – Gary Hooper trod the same path (for £5 million) in the summer of 2013, but didn’t bring his goals with him. Jun 6 - 7:28 AM

John Guidetti's season-long loan move from Manchester City to Celtic has been completed after Fifa allowed the move to go ahead.

Guidetti hit 20 goals on loan for Feyenoord in 2012/13 and was included in Manchester City's squad last season but barely kicked a ball as fifth-choice striker. He earned a loan to Stoke but failed to register a goal, and he was was unlikely to feature back at the Etihad for this campaign so has been granted a laon to Celtic. Paperwork to register the Swedish striker was filed after Monday's transfer deadline but Fifa have allowed the deal to go ahead.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini will allow 21-year old striker John Guidetti to transfer to another Premier League side now that he has recovered from an injury to his knee.

Pellegrini: "John was not at Swansea because he had a little problem in his knee but we will see in the transfer window if he goes – maybe it’s a chance for him to start playing. We have four very important strikers, and John must play after being out for a long time with an injury to his knee. We will see now we are in January." The Swedish international, who has not played a single minute for City this season, is a loan target for Aston Villa, Stoke City, Sunderland and West Ham United.

Stoke City is being linked with a move for Manchester City's highly-rated Swedish international striker, John Guidetti.

Guidetti hit 20 goals on loan for Feyenoord last season but is at best fifth-choice back at Manchester City. Stoke would like to a permanent transfer for around 5.5 million pounds, but if this move comes off at all, it may have to be a loan. Regardless, Guidetti would push incumbent Peter Crouch, and the out-of-favour Kenwyne Jones, for a starting role with the Potters.
