Japan international Ryo Miyaichi has been granted a transfer to St. Pauli in Germany ending a four-and-a-half year spell at the North London club.
You will be forgiven if you forgot that Miyaichi was in the squad after spending most of his time with the club on loan elsewhere. His stops have included Feyenoord, Bolton, Wigan, and FC Twente. Miyaichi didn't play much for Arsenal with only one league appearance and a handful of early round cup matches. With players like Sanchez, Walcott, Welbeck, Ramsey, Oxlade-Chamberlain, and Gnabry all ahead of him in the pecking order a permanent move away appears to make sense for both sides. Arsenal forward Ryo Miyaichi has completed a loan move to FC Twente.

Arsenal have shipped off youngster Ryo Miyaichi to FC Twente on loan. Miyaichi wasn't expected to be a part of their first team even after Arsene Wenger suggested that he'll be part of the squad during pre-season. The youngster needs regular playing time and won't get that in North London. This is a win-win situation for both teams and the player.

Arsene Wenger, speaking after Arsenal's friendly win today, indicated that Ryo Miyaichi will stay in North London and be part of the squad as things currently stand.

Miyaichi has been playing reasonably well in the pre-season and scored a very nice penalty in the win over Grampus this week. The concern with him staying is that he is young and could use frequent playing time and that seems unlikely at the Emirates with a lot of players in line ahead of him in the wide spots on the field. If rumored acquisition Bernard arrives then Miyaichi would be even that much further back.
