Liverpool officially confirmed youth goalkeeper Danny Ward has been loaned to Huddersfield Town for the upcoming season.
But before sending him to Jurgen Klopp's good friend in Huddersfield manager David Wagner, the club also announced Ward has signed a new five-year contract to keep him at Anfield through the summer of 2021. Following the summer arrival of Loris Karius, who is expected to put pressure on Simon Mignolet for the starting goalkeeper spot, Ward will now ply his trade in the Championship after making two Premier League appearances following his loan at Aberdeen, along with one start at the Euros with Wales. Danny Ward injured his knee in training this week and is expected to be sidelined for Liverpool's final two weeks of the season.

The injury by Ward is thought to be minor enough to keep him in contention for the Wales national team in this summer's Euro tournament. With an eye on that competition, it would stand to reason he will not be risked for the final two weeks and Simon Mignolet was always going to start the Europa League final. It is good news for Mignolet owners then in fantasy. He will start both game of the current double gameweek as well as the final gameweek against West Brom. Adam Bogdan will serve as the backup and Jurgen Klopp has seen enough of him to keep him glued to his bench seat.

Jurgen Klopp looks set to make several changes again to his Liverpool XI this weekend against Swansea City, with the manager indicating that Danny Ward is likely to play in place of Simon Mignolet.

It appears Klopp is ready to mix things up just as he did two weekends ago against AFC Bournemouth where he made ten changes to the XI from the previous game, handing starts to many a fringe player. The only fantasy darling that looks safe to call upon is Daniel Sturridge, who did not start last night against Villareal. Dejan Lovren may get another start as well. He and Kolo Toure started against the Spanish club but Martin Skrtel is the only other natural center back option to come in lest Klopp digs into Tiago Ilori territory or plays a defensive midfielder at the back. Philippe Coutinho has a chance to play as well if he shakes his illness as he only played forty-five minutes yesterday.
