Sam Allardyce has confirmed that West Ham United midfielder Kevin Nolan will be out for around six weeks following the shoulder injury he suffered early last week.
News broke prior to Saturday’s game at Crystal Palace with the club keen to keep the exact details of problem in-house until after the team line-ups had been announced. The injury is thought to be similar to that suffered by Joey O’Brien last season but West Ham have stressed the shoulder is not dislocated but fractured after a heavy fall in training. With the captain missing Mauro Zarate was afforded his first competitive start, and the Argentine duly responded with a goal scoring man-of-the-match performance. Aug 25 - 7:52 AM

West Ham have signed Anderlecht midfielder Cheikhou Kouyate on a four-year deal.

Kouyate is a 24 year-old Senegal international who comes in with experience at a young age. He's played in the Champions League and on the international stage and can bring some of the same things Victor Wanyama brought to Southampton in terms of experience and leadership. This is West Ham's second signing of the summer and joint chairman David Sullivan said he expects the club to make at least four more signings before the end of the transfer window. West Ham are desperately trying to improve and have set an ultimatum for manager Sam Allardyce to finish in the top 10. Expect improvement.

Kevin Nolan is backing West Ham manager Sam Allardyce to keep his job in the midst of rumors around the manager's future.

West Ham had a disappointing Premier League season, finishing in 13th place and only seven points ahead of the relegation zone. The truth is, they were missing their best striker, Andy Carroll, for the majority of the season. They lacked creativity and speed in attack and it was more of a problem with the roster than with the managerial decisions. West Ham are extremely solid in the back and can find themselves in the top 10 next season with just one or two attack minded signings this summer.

Kevin Nolan found himself in the middle of another West Ham win after he scored and assisted on the way to a 3-1 victory over Southampton.

Nolan has been frustrating to own lately because of his inconsistency, but this was one of his better displays. The goal and assist give him another double digit performance and it seems like Nolan will continue rolling as long as West Ham keep scoring. Carlton Cole also registered a goal and an assist after being questionable with an injury concern. Cole's value is low since Andy Carroll is expected to return from suspension next week.

Kevin Nolan was taken out of the West Ham's game against Aston Villa as a precautionary move and he is likely to face Norwich tomorrow.

Nolan will be checked again tomorrow but it seems he is more likely to plan than not. He has scored two braces in a row and is West Ham's main threat without striker Andy Carroll available. Norwich are extremely poor defensively and Nolan has an opportunity to extend his goal scoring streak to three games.
Feb 10 - 12:48 PM

Kevin Nolan scored his second brace in a row to give West Ham a 2-0 win over Aston Villa.

In the first half, both Villa and West Ham played like they'd never score a goal again but Kevin Nolan changed that within three minutes in the second half. Steward Downing played a fantastic ball into the box and Nolan was able to flick it into goal in the 46th minute. Minutes later, Nolan stole the ball from Fabian Delph and curled it in past Brad Guzan for the second and last goal. Nolan is dangerous when he catches fire and it wouldn't be a bad idea to give him a go against a poor Norwich City side.

Kevin Nolan scored both of West Ham United's goals in the first half of their 2-0 victory over Swansea City.

It has been a struggle of a campaign for Nolan, having scored just twice before today, but he did the business for the Hammers, assisted by Andy Carroll both times. The first goal started with a long pass from George McCartney who picked out Carroll, and the big man headed it into path of Nolan. Then in the waning moments of the first half, a Stewart Downing corner was again headed by Carroll to Nolan, who finished with his own head. Keep an eye on Nolan for future home fixtures, where he has an excellent scoring record.

West Ham have signed AC Milan's Antonio Nocerino on loan until the end of the season.

The Hammers have decided to strengthen their squad that currently sits in 18th place in the Premier League. They have been struggling to attract talent to their side but the signing of Nocerino should be a step in the right direction. Nocerino is in a slump himself but Sam Allardyce hopes he can get him out of it by pairing him with Andy Carroll. Nocerino's most successful period was when he played behind Zlatan Ibrahimovih. Andy is no where near close to Ibrahimovic's quality, but hopefully Nocerino and him can form a lethal partnership that takes the Hammers out of the relegation zone.

Kevin Nolan will return from a three match ban that was given to him for his second red card of the season.

Nolan is an important player in the West Ham midfield and he raises Andy Carroll's value with his passing and control of the game. As of right now, no West Ham player should be owned in Yahoo! fantasy, but if Nolan and Carroll begin working well together there could be possible value to be had in the future.

Kevin Nolan was sent off near the end of the first half for West Ham and it would prove to be their undoing as Fulham eventually dropped the Hammers 2-1.

Nolan had begun to heat up, coming off a 1 goal, 2 assist performance and the matchup with Fulham was as good of one anyone could ask for but a violent conduct foul on Fernando Amorebieta ruined the opportunity and he is now set to miss the next three games, one of which will be an FA Cup match this weekend. Sadly, West Ham's best attacking performance of the day may have belonged to Jussi Jaaskelainen, who along with making nine saves, provided the assist for the Hammers only goal.
Jan 1 - 12:25 PM

Kevin Nolan was involved in all of West Ham United's goals today, scoring once and assisting twice in a thrilling 3-3 draw with West Bromwich Albion.

It was a roller coaster ride for West Ham fans today. They took an early lead when Nolan set up Jole Cole for his 3rd goal of the season. Then the tide turned when James Tompkins limped off with a groin injury and Sam Allardyce had to employ four fullbacks on his back line. The defense was then exposed as West Brom scored twice before the end of the first half and the Hammers looked to be heading for a loss. Then in a span of two minutes in the second half, Nolan and Modibo Maiga set each other up for goals with Nolan scoring the go ahead. However, the Baggies would level the game and West Ham settled for the draw. Nolan had an assist last time out and is finally beginning to heat up. With Fulham up next, he looks like an interesting prospect.

Kevin Nolan will return from suspension after missing two games due to a red card he picked up against Liverpool.

Nolan faces a tough match against Arsenal in his first game back and considering West Ham's inability to score, he remains a bad fantasy option.

Kevin Nolan will be suspended for the next three games because of the red card he received during Saturday's match against Liverpool.

With Nolan and Steward Downing both out, West Ham will rely on Ravel Morrison and Joe Cole in the attacking part of midfield. They both present interesting fantasy options against Sunderland next weekend, but considering how much West Ham have struggled to score, I would avoid them. Andy Carroll is nearing a return and would raise the value of West Ham's attacking midfielders when he's back on the pitch.

West Ham United were undone today by own goals and a red card for a nasty challenge by Kevin Nolan and the Hammers were put away by Liverpool 4-1.

A disappointing outcome for West Ham considering how tough they played Liverpool in the first half. They managed to contain Suarez and keep Liverpool from possessing the ball for any long stretches, almost making it to halftime with the game 0-0, but the first of several own goals in this game credited to Guy Demel in the 42nd minute set the stage for the second half and the red for Nolan made it impossible to think of a comeback. Nolan will now miss the next three for West Ham during a busy holiday schedule but this does mean great things in the fantasy realm for Ravel Morrison who should utilize the opportunity to play just behind the striker where he is most dangerous.

Kevin Nolan missed a great chance to put West Ham up against Aston Villa in the 0-0 draw.

West Ham produced a few chances but once again failed to capitalize. Kevin Nolan has been relatively quiet this season as West Ham have struggled to score and he's not a recommended fantasy player. Teammate Mark Noble has also struggled in fantasy production and the only West Ham fantasy options remaining are in defense with Winston Reid being the best player available.
