Sone Aluko was a rare bright spot putting up double digit fantasy points in the Yahoo format as Steve Bruce's side lost 2-0 to Southampton.
Aluko got a rare start in Week 32 and came through with 10 points in the Yahoo system on the back of a shot on target, three fouls won, two successful crosses, a corner won and a pass intercepted. That's hardly "set the world on fire" stuff but it wouldn't be bad for a cheap price if there were any expectation that he would continue to start. With Abel Hernandez and Yannick Sagbo the only alternatives until Nikica Jelavic returns sometime in May, Aluko may continue to start but it's hardly a guarantee. If you're in a tough spot then Aluko might be worth a look but know it comes with a great deal of rotation risk. Apr 15 - 1:53 PM

Hull City will be without reserve attacker Sone Aluko for their trip to the Hawthorns for Tony Pulis' first Premier League match in charge of the Baggies.

Already missing Robert Snodgrass, Andrew Robertson, Liam Rosenior, Gaston Ramirez, and Mohamed Diame and having lost Hatem Ben Arfa to poor form/effort, Steve Bruce will be worried that he is down yet another player for the trip to West Brom. Hull City need every point they can find against their fellow strugglers and a trip to the Hawthorns seems like a solid chance to pick up one or even three. Aluko's injury doesn't appear to be serious but he will definitely miss this opportunity to contribute to Hull City's survival.

Hull City stopped the bleeding at least a little bit with a surprising 1-1 draw on the road at Goodison Park on Wednesday.

The Toffees were dominated in terms of possession (58% to 42%), shots (13 to 8) and shots on target (5 to 1) but managed to stay even where it matters most, on the scoreboard. After falling behind to a 34th minute Romelu Lukaku drive from a nice Kevin Mirallas pass from the by-line, Hull City scored an equalizer through Sone Aluko. Aluko had been on the pitch for only six minutes when he left Sylvin Distin in the dust to score his goal.

Sone Aluko missed Week 35 against Arsenal but is fit to travel again in Week 36 and could feature in some role for Hull City.

I'd be cautious with Aluko because he hasn't been a guaranteed starter since the arrival of Shane Long and Nikica Jelavic Aluko will be fit again this weekend and Hull City is facing modest opposition in relegation strugglers Fulham but it isn't clear whether a clean bill of health will be enough for him to get a start. If you're going to make a bet on Hull City's attack, I'm not sure this is the one I'd make.

Sone Aluko has been out since early November with an Achilles injury but may return to the Hull City line-up for their match against Sunderland.

Aluko's return should be monitored by fantasy managers but no one should be jumping in until he a) is a sure starter; b) he proves himself healthy; and c) his role in Hull's revamped line-up becomes clear. Give it at least a couple of weeks before you jump in and then only in the event of a favorable match-up for the Tigers.

Hull City have signed forward Sone Aluko to a new two-and-a-half year deal that will keep him with the club until the summer of 2016.

Aluko started the first eight games of the season, recording one goal and two assists before injuring his achilles. He hasn't featured since, but apparently the Tigers still feel as if he's got a solid future ahead of him. Yannick Sagbo has filled in up top for Aluko the past 13 games (two goals and two assists) and Danny Graham finally netted against Swansea on Dec. 9, but Hull strikers are still struggling to get on the score sheet. Thru 20 games they've combined for just five goals. Despite this the Tigers currently sit in 10th place at the midway point. "I’m glad that it’s done, but I never really thought that it wouldn’t happen. I’m happy to extend my stay here," said Aluko.

Steve Bruce announced that striker Sone Aluko has an achilles injury that will keep him out until February.

This will heap more pressure on Yannick Sagbo and Danny Graham to find goals for Hull City. With those options, Bruce's best hope may be that his defence continues to play as well as it has in recent weeks.

After being down 1-0 and 2-1 at St. James' Park, Hull City Tigers rallied and took all three points on the road as they defeat Newcastle United 2-3, thanks to a late goal from Sone Aluko.

A side-footed volley off the inside post had to be the goal of the day as Aluko and teammates went mad. He also picked out Robbie Brady for an assist on the Tigers first goal. Aluko may draw fleeting interest from fantasy managers should he be classified as a midfielder in the game, but as long as he is deemed a forward, it will be difficult to draw much attention going forward.

Hull, having spent most of the summer on the back line are starting to move up the field with their targets.

Having already landed Danny Graham on loan to bolster Sone Aluko and the forward line, Steve Bruce is looking to further reinforcements with his old player Wilson Palacios, a holding midfielder, as well as Evian's young forward Yannick Sagbo and Nottingham Forrest's central midfielder Adlene Guedioura. There is certainly comfort in the recruitment of well-known names but the upside of this strategy is definitely limited. Of the players suggested, Sagbo is the only one who has significant upside.
