Everton made sure that Tim Howard went out with a smile on his face as the club secured a clean sheet in a 3-0 win against Norwich City.
In the club's first game without Roberto Martinez at the helm, the manager was fired following Wednesday's dismal showing against Sunderland, the Toffees were firing on all cylinders in what was their highest scoring output since March 1 against Aston Villa. James McCarthy opened the scoring in the 19th minute with his second goal of the season and Leighton Baines converted a penalty kick to give Everton a 2-0 half-time lead. Kevin Mirallas then added a third just after the half for the final goal of the afternoon. But Sunday at Goodison Park belonged to Howard as the keeper will now head to Colorado Rapids after almost a decade on Merseyside. Sun, May 15, 2016 12:12:00 PM

Tim Howard will officially get the sending off Everton fans were hoping for despite not being listed as the club's No. 1 goalkeeper.

Everton manager Roberto Martinez confirmed that Howard will start in the club's two remaining home games to allow the Goodison Park faithful to give him a proper sendoff before his move to the Colorado Rapids this summer after more than nine years at the club. That means the American international, who hasn't started a league match in two months, will be the starting keeper at home against Bournemouth this weekend as well as the season finale against Norwich City in Week 38. Meanwhile, Joel Robles will start both away fixtures in Week 37 against Leicester City and Sunderland.

The Everton defense is hoping to see the return of two starters for the weekend match against West Bromwich Albion, Roberto Martinez revealed today.

Tim Howard is set for a return from a knock that has kept him out for the past two games, while John Stones is also back in training following a hamstring injury. Said Martinez: "Tim Howard is very similar. He had a very good session on a one-to-one basis. We knew that they were problems that could be managed and treated in a short-term and conservative manner. We are very pleased with how their bodies have reacted. Now it’s about taking it step-by-step, introducing them to the group and seeing how they react. Hopefully they will be available for the West Brom game, if not at the maximum Bournemouth." Joel Robles has played in the last two matches, one FA Cup and one league, and has recorded clean sheets in each, giving Martinez and fantasy manager a difficult choice for the weekend.

Everton will likely have Joel Robles in goal this weekend against Stoke City as Tim Howard remains a major doubt due to a knock picked up in training.

Roberto Martinez wouldn't rule out Howard completely but said the match will likely come too early for the American keeper. In Howard's stead on Wednesday, Robles secured a clean sheet against Newcastle and will likely start even if Howard is available because of his recent form. The backup keeper is an excellent one-week buy in daily fantasy leagues like DraftKings as the Toffees take on Stoke City, who has not scored a goal in its last three Premier League games.

Tim Howard will be assessed during the build-up to game week twenty-four after the Everton goalkeeper was injured – believed to be knee - on Monday.

Roberto Martinez was speaking to the media on Tuesday: "Tim was injured in training. We had a scan and it didn't look too bad but we'll see what the situation is tomorrow." If the US international fails to recover in time then Joel Robles will be handed his third consecutive start after playing in both domestic cup games over the past seven-days. Kevin Mirallas (knee) is expected to miss out but could return this weekend while Mo Besic will not be rushed following his setback against Swansea. The midfielder suffered his third hamstring strain of the season and is hoping to face AFC Bournemouth in the FA Cup later this month.

After some suspect goalkeeping last week against Manchester City, Tim Howard deserved Man of the Match for keeping Tottenham out and gifting a dormant Everton attack a point in a 0-0 final.

Everton were bossed by Spurs in possession throughout the day and hardly gave Hugo Lloris much to worry about as Romelu Lukaku and Ross Barkley looked short on ideas for the second consecutive week. The defending was suspect too, perhaps a result of lack of depth at the position and having played in a midweek cup tie that went to extra time. Lucky for them, Howard had his best performance of the young season, making several crucial saves and showing his reaction time is still sharp. Roberto Martinez has been wondering seemingly forever about the future of his defense with or without John Stones, but he may want to focus some energy on improving the attack as well before the window closes.

Everton's confidence from a very positive Week 2 showing took a hit after losing 0-2 at home to a tough Manchester City side.

The Toffees played to a goalless first half with Manchester City and provided the Sky Blues with their toughest competition thus far in the early going. A Romelu Lukaku goal that would have given them the advantage was waived off by a very close offside call. They seemed to tire as a team down the stretch though as City would score twice in the final half hour, with at least of the goal arguably needing to be stopped by Tim Howard. Howard is coming off a poor season and the Toffees can ill-afford to witness his demise if indeed his form has hit a career wall. If John Stones is lured away without an adequate and Leighton Baines' spot isn't given attention, the defense could be a right mess for some time.

Goalkeeper Tim Howard’s Everton future has been thrown into doubt after the club make an enquiry about Burnley’s Tom Heaton…

Just a few weeks after Roberto Martinez saying that the goalkeeping area was the one ‘line’ of his team he was happy with and not looking to strengthen, Everton have made an approach for Burnley’s Tom Heaton. Tim Howard was a star of the 2014 World Cup for the US and has been an outstanding servant at Goodison as he enters his testimonial (10th) year. But last season was perhaps his least consistent. The 50 goals conceded was a full 10 more than in any of the previous three seasons and the ten clean sheets five down on the year before. This is not all down to Howard, of course. But the news that his ex’wife has now returned to the United States with their children will create further uncertainty. Heaton was one of Burnley’s star performers despite their relegation. And would relish the chance to follow his team-mate Danny Ings to Merseyside, albeit the blue side.

Manager Martinez looks to strengthen all three areas of the team, but the stats say the defence is the area that needs to improve.

Roberto Martinez is looking to add a ‘player per line’ this summer – defence, midfield and attack - but his goalkeepers are safe, despite perhaps Tm Howard’s least consistent season in an Everton shirt. Last season’s total of ten clean sheets was five down on the previous season and Everton’s worst for the last four. More strikingly, the 50 goals conceded was at least ten more than the previous three outings (39, 40 and 40 respectively). In front of Howard, the departing Sylvain Distin’s partnership with Phil Jagielka was key to recent success – and leaves big boots to fill for young John Stones. In front of them, Gareth Barry’s biggest contribution was in cards – his 10 yellows and 1 red was the 4th worst in the PL. And these positions look to be the most pressing matters for Martinez.

Everton were stunned at home today by Sunderland, who scored twice on deflected goals to beat the Toffees, 0-2.

It looked like a promising fixture on paper for the Toffees as they entered the day in fine home form, keeping four consecutive clean sheets. It will be a disappointment for investors in their defense though as lady luck was exclusively on the side of Sunderland in this one. Those that invested in Tim Howard are in for a for a forgettable score as he only made one save in the process. To make matters worse, Leighton Baines had to limp off early with an injury that could jeopardize the remainder of his season.

Tim Howard is fully fit according to Roberto Martinez and one would expect for the veteran to reclaim his spot back straight away, but with an away match against Chelsea on the docket, there is no reason to invest in him yet.

It has to be said that Howard was not having a very good season before his injury and Robles has actually been a better fantasy producer from a per-game average than Howard in his time minding the net. It may make the most since to let Howard make the bench for this round. Everton have a slim shot at getting a positive result at the Bridge, as is the case for just about any visiting club. By sticking with Robles one more week, it rewards the backup for his contribution but will make it easier to switch back to Howard for the next round if the Blues put up a crooked score. Either way, monitor Howard over the next few rounds and pick him up while his price is dirt cheap, just 3.09m currently in Yahoo.

Everton goalkeeper Tim Howard is expected to miss five to six weeks with a calf injury.

The American goalkeeper was injured during Boxing Day in a match against Stoke and had to be taken off at halftime. His calf issue is now expected to cost him five to six weeks and Joel Robles becomes an option in deeper fantasy leagues.

American goalkeeper Tim Howard suffered an injury during the team's Boxing Day match against Stoke and was replaced at halftime.

Howard conceded from a questionable penalty earlier in the match and thus ends the day with a bad fantasy score. We don't know much about the injury other than he couldn't continue and we'll have to wait until the end of the match to hear more. Howard was replaced by backup Joel Robles, who could be a solid fantasy choice if the American misses time.

Tim Howard has improved after an extremely rough start to the season.

Everton's defense in front of Howard was horrible early in the season and there wasn't much the USA goalkeeper could do to save them. As a return, he started the season poorly, but he has since improved due to the noticeable improvement in his defense. He earned seven point last weekend, a solid outing despite not having a single gave. The points came from a tie and a clean sheet. His price is very acceptable since he only has seven points on the season, but he is now a solid choice against teams in the lower half of the table.

Tim Howard put in a historic performance for the US Men's National Team in a close 2-1 loss to Belgium.

Howard had a record setting performance, recording 16 saves, the most ever in recorded World Cup history. The United States defense was poor today, allowing Belgium to take an incredible number of shots, many of which were on goal. Tim Howard was named the man of the match despite the loss. He was the best player on the pitch and deserves a lot of credit. The US team should walk away from the World Cup proudly, as they outperformed all expectations.
