Former Manchester United wonderkid Adnan Januzaj has left the club after a number of disappointing seasons.
Januzaj has joined La Liga side Real Sociedad on a five-year deal for a fee of about £9.8m ($12.8m). The 22 year old winger had been informed by manager José Mourinho earlier this summer that he was surplus to requirements and Old Trafford and that he could move away permanently. The Belgian leaped to stardom in 2013 as the glittering star of David Moyes' torrid United side in 2013. However, he was marginalised under Louis Van Gaal and later Mourinho, and spent a spell with Borussia Dortmund in 2015/16 before he was unable to break into Moyes' hapless Sunderland side last season during another period away from Manchester. Januzaj's new team were sixth in La Liga last season and will partake in the group stages of the Europa League this season. Jul 14 - 9:54 PM

Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj is set to leave Old Trafford having failed to rediscover the form which helped him burst into their first team in 2013/14.

The Belgian's career has nosedived since that season under David Moyes and unsuccessful loan spells did nothing to solve his on-field problems. Now, with a year to run on his current contract, his club are looking to offload him while he still has transfer value. France Football are claiming that a £9.7 million deal has been negotiated with La Liga outfit Real Sociedad, where Januzaj will hope he can revive his career through first-team experience. In December 2016, while on loan at Sunderland, David Moyes questioned the 22 year old's fitness and form. The call to action did nothing to inspire the once next big thing. Instead his season petered out along with that of the relegated side he played for.

Adnan Januzaj is attracting interest from Celtic after Jose Mourinho told the 22-year-old that he has no future at the club.

The Belgian winger made 18 starts while on-loan at Sunderland last term but failed to deliver during a disappointing season all-round. Expectations were high for Januzaj when he first came to prominence nearly 4 years ago after scoring twice at the Stadium of Light on his full Premier League debut. However, while he flourished under David Moyes, making 15 starts, he has struggled to convince subsequent managers and has been nothing more than a bit part player at the club. A frustrating loan spell at Borussia Dortmund in 2016 done little to enhance his reputation, just six appearances from the bench, and it now looks like Januzaj could move north of the border for a chance to resurrect his career under the stewardship of Brendan Rodgers.

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has said that he has made a decision about the future of winger Adnan Januzaj.

The comments came ahead of Manchester United's visit to Sunderland at the weekend, where the Belgian has been on-loan for the season. Since his breakthrough season at Old Trafford under his current manager David Moyes, the 22 year old has had a turbulent time. Last season, he spent the first half of the season in Germany on loan at Dortmund, but he failed to make an impact. Regardless of Mourinho's occulted statement, it is likely that Januzaj will leave United at the end of the season. United will want to cash-in before he can leave the club for free in January given that his contract expires in June 2018.

Sunderland manager David Moyes reveals on-loan winger Adnan Januzaj could return from injury sooner than initially anticipated.

The 21-year-old damaged ankle ligaments back in September and was originally told he would miss around six weeks. But speaking to the Shields Gazette, Moyes says he is hopeful that Januzaj could return before next months international break after confirming he is "feeling much better." Januzaj is one of 9 first team squad members currently side-lined through injury, and with the Black Cats currently rooted to the bottom of the Premier League, they are desperate for bodies to help bolster their squad. Sunderland travel to West Ham this weekend as the only side in England, from the top five divisions, who are yet to win a league game.

Sunderland have been dealt another blow after a scan revealed Manchester United loanee Adnan Januzaj damaged ankle ligaments during the 3-2 loss to Crystal Palace.

The 21-year-old was replaced with just five minutes remaining on Saturday but when the injury actually occurred isn’t evidently clear. Januzaj was on the receiving end of a heavy challenge in the first half, however, he managed to continue until Victor Anichebe was introduced as the game was drawing to a close. Januzaj will join long-term absentees Seb Larsson, Fabio Borini and Vito Mannone in the treatment room while his injury serves as another major setback for David Moyes who is still searching for his first competitive win. Wahbi Khazri is poised for recall having spent much of his season warming the bench.

David Moyes has been reunited with his third Manchester United player as Adnan Januzaj joins Paddy McNair and Donald Love at the Stadium of Light.

Januzaj broke into the United starting eleven briefly during Moyes' troubled tenure at Old Trafford and he will now look to re-start his career under Moyes at the Stadium of Light. After falling behind a number of younger players at United and failing to make the grade at Borussia Dortmund last season, Januzaj is in need of a place where he can get minutes and Sunderland should be that place. There is potential there but with Whabi Khazri in place Januzaj will be no better than a secondary creator upon his arrival.

Manchester United have announced that Adnan Januzaj's loan spell with Borussia Dortmund has been terminated.

With the Belgium international having failed to start a singe Bundesliga match on loan both clubs agreed that they weren't getting what they hoped for out of the deal. United were hoping that time out on loan would provide playing time. Januzaj will rejoin United and either fight for playing time there or look for another loan to a club where he would be more likely to play.

German club Borussia Dortmund have announced the signing of Adnan Januzaj on a season-long loan.

Despite a few rumors around this move in the past couple of days, this is quite surprising to see. Januzaj started for Manchester United in week two and played well, scoring a game-winning goal against Aston Villa. Louis van Gaal apparently wasn't that impressed, and the belief must be that Januzaj will get more playing time and experience at Dortmund. Now in the Bundlesliga, Januzaj is obviously not an option in Fantasy Premier League games, but he could be an interesting choice next season if he remains with Manchester United. He will wear shirt No 9 at Dortmund.

Adnan Januzaj has been ruled out of Manchester United's Week 4 trip to the Liberty Stadium with a hip injury.

Januzaj was only marginally effective in the playing time that he has received so far this season. With Marouane Fellaini eligible after serving his three match ban and Ander Herrera looming on the bench, it could be that Januzaj was going to be rotated anyway. His hip injury removes all doubt as the Belgium international will have to wait until at least after the international break before finding out where he stands in Louis Van Gaal's midfield pecking order.

Adnan Januzaj scored the lone goal in Manchester United 1-0 win away at Aston Villa.

Januzaj opened up the scoring in the first half after a great pass from Juan Mata and the score never changed again. Manchester played a decent game but failed to be overly impressive, with the biggest issue being how bad Wayne Rooney played. Manchester now finish their two first matches with a total of two goals scored but they've got to be happy with the results as they have six points. Aston Villa looked poor in attack and may look to start Rudy Gestede in week three.

Sunderland have opened talks with Manchester United over a possible loan deal for Belgian forward Adnan Januzaj…

It is a further demonstration of intent from Dick Advocaat, which also suggests we can infer certain other key developments. First, Sunderland winger Adam Johnson has appeared in court this week defending child sex charges. Left-sided attacker Jeremain Lens has already been added to the squad, but Januzaj made his first – and so far biggest – impression patrolling the same left-flank. So the signs for Johnson’s future at the club are not good. It also indicates that Man United could finally be close to securing the services of Barcelona’s Pedro, which would limit Januzaj’s opportunities this season. On the plus side for the young Belgian, Sunderland has been a profitable place for the likes of Danny Welbeck, Jonny Evans and Tottenham’s Danny Rose to get their PL ‘wings’ and go onto better things.

Manchester United have agreed with PSV Eindhoven on a deal for forward/attacking midfielder Memphis Depay both clubs have reported.

With Manchester United struggling to score goals, Louis Van Gaal has started the summer transfer process early with the news that he has reached an agreement to bring Memphis Depay to Old Trafford for next season. Depay was one of the revelations of the 2014 World Cup under Van Gaal and a link to Manchester United has been rumored all season. The deal is contingent on the player passing a medical but there is no reason to expect that will stand in the way.

Injury problems are beginning to mount for Manchester United as Rafael [ribs] and Adnan Januzaj [ankle] picked up problems playing for the under-21s on Monday. However Louis van Gaal is hopeful that Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Daley Blind will be available for this weekends’ trip to Goodison Park although Michael Carrick remains a doubt due a persistent calf problem.

The United development side took on Leicester but not all the news was bad as Robin van Persie continued his recovery from ankle ligament damage to play over an hour while defender Jonny Evans started for the first time since completing his 6-game ban. United sit just 1-point above their city rivals in third place following defeat at Stamford Bridge on Saturday and Louis van Gaal will be keen to welcome back any of the quartet despite producing "Our best match of the season." A return for either Blind or Carrick is likely to release Wayne Rooney with the captain moving back into a more attacking role.

Adnan Januzaj became the second United - and Belgium - player to be struck down with a virus which has affected a number of Manchester United squad members to varying degrees.

Januzaj joins Marouane Fellaini on the sidelines and the pair will miss Sundays' trip to White Hart Lane as they struggle to shake off the effects of the 'Belgium Virus'. Januzaj has fell down the pecking order this season following a number of new arrivals - Angel di Maria / Radamel Falcao / Daley Blind - and despite a host of injuries to key personnel the youngster has been restricted to just four starts this campaign only completing 90 minutes twice. Januzaj may look for a loan move in 2015 to help continue his development and gain some valuable game time / experimence with Newcastle reportedly interested.
