Spurs fans will be relieved to see that manager Mauricio Pochettino has signed a new long-term contract.
Amid links this summer to Chelsea among other big-club vacancies, the Argentine manager signs on for five more years with Spurs after leading the club to back-to-back top-three finishes in the Premier League. Said Pochettino after the deal was announced: "I am honoured to have signed a new long-term contract as we approach one of the most significant periods in the Club's history and be the manager that will lead this team into our new world-class stadium. This is just one of the factors that makes this one of the most exciting jobs in world football and we are already making plans to ensure we continue to build on the great work that everyone has contributed to over the past four years." Tottenham lost 2-0 to Liverpool on Saturday and the result was probably a bit flattering to the visitors who could have lost by more.

Mauricio Pochettino will have some work to do as Spurs again failed to come up big against a big opponent. Trying to match pressing styles against Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, the North London side failed to put up much of a fight. At the back they were sloppy and allowed chance after chance to Klopp's previously struggling side. Going forward, Spurs never really mounted much of an attack against a defense that has been porous all season. Overall, just not an impressive effort by Spurs or Pochettino in putting a game plan together to face Liverpool.

Mauricio Pochettino has announced that he has made a verbal agreement with Tottenham to continue as manager for the next five seasons, extending his current deal an extra two years.

Ink has yet to be put to paper but Pochettino further stated the contract will be signed either tomorrow or Tuesday of next week, with the boss focusing on the derby with Chelsea between Sunday and Monday night. Pochettino has led Spurs to their best season since the advent of the season and with the young talent at his disposal, the future looks bright. The Argentine boss had plenty of rumors floating that he could leave in the summer, with the most buzz suggesting he could take over at PSG. Details of the contract are as of yet unclear, but reports indicate he will be the highest-paid manager in club history. It would be hard to argue that he does not deserve it.

Both Southampton and Tottenham have acknowledged via their official Twitter feeds that Mauricio Pochettino has moved from the south coast to North London to manage Spurs.

The manager's seat at White Hart Lane has been a hot one in recent times with Harry Redknapp and then Andres Villas Boas and finally Tim Sherwood failing to significantly improve things at the club. Tantalizingly just outside the Champions League places, the North London club will be hoping that Pochettino will bring the same winning strategy that saw Southampton improve significantly in his first full season at the helm. They may also be hoping that he brings a few players - Lallana? Lovern? Rodriguez? - with him.

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino is in advanced talks with Tottenham to become their new manager.

The rumours have been rumbling for a few weeks that it is between Pochettino and Frank de Boer for the Spurs job following the sacking of Tim Sherwood, and it appears the Southampton manager is now the red-hot favourite as talks reach an advanced stage. Pochettino's has been a success at St Mary's but his future had been in question following the departure of chairman Nicola Cortese in January, and with only a one year left on his deal, the Saints may have to accept defeat to ensure they get some compensation from Daniel Levy and the Tottenham board.

Southampton boss Mauricio Pochettino is worried about the Saints' home form in the midst of a great away run.

Southampton have won six away matches in the Premier League, a club record. Despite the great form away from St Mary's, the Saints have struggled at home and Pochettino is worried. Southampton have only registered one home win since beating Hull in early November and Pochettino sees that an area in need of improvement. The Saints face an extremely poor away side in Norwich at St Mary's next Saturday and will look to improve their home form.

Southampton have named Gareth Rogers their interim CEO after the departure of Nicola Cortese but Mauricio Pochettino is expected to keep his job.

Rogers has a big pair of shoes to fill considering the success Cortese brought to the club. In just a few years, Cortese brought the Saints from League One to the Premier League, where they are currently in ninth place. Saints owner Katharina Liebherr has said that no Southampton players are for sale and Mauricio Pochettino will remain the manager and those statements should hold true even with a new CEO in town. Keep using Saints players in fantasy as usual but don't forget the injuries to Dejan Lovren and Gaston Ramirez.
