Robert Huth has been something of a forgotten man at Stoke City due to injuries but he is getting closer and faces a fitness check ahead of the Potters' Week 15 match with Arsenal.
Even given Stoke City's other injury woes, it seems unlikely that Mark Hughes would throw the German defender back into the deep end by starting him against Arsenal. Robert Huth is back in training and played a half of a closed-doors friendly this week.

Huth could be available to face Arsenal this weekend, but it's still very doubtful. In his absence, Marc Wilson will continue to partner Robert Shawcross.

Stoke City will continue to be short-handed in the near term, as both Robert Huth and Andy Wilkinson need a few more weeks before returning to the squad.

In Huth's absence, Marc Wilson has covered at center back with mixed results. Stoke have been a soft-touch on the road, and travel to Crystal Palace this weekend.

Loanee Marc Munsiea would be a like for like swap, though Geoff Cameron could also slide infield and play alongside Robert Shawcross.

Robert Huth's ankle is swollen and he won't be considered for Stoke City's Cup tie against Birmingham City.

Huth was injured in a late tackle by Javier Hernandez. Stoke will be desperate to have their influential defender available as they take on high-flying Southampton this weekend.
