Robert Huth played 90 minutes for the Under-23s on Monday and appears close to returning to the Leicester City first team.
Speaking ahead of Saturday's trip to Huddersfield Town, Foxes boss Craig Shakespeare said Huth came through his appearance for the development squad "okay" and took part in full training this week. The German center-back has yet to feature in the Premier League this season, but should be back in contention for the starting XI once fully fit. For the time being Harry Maguire and Wes Morgan will continue to start at center-back. Elsewhere, Shakespeare provided an update on new loan signing Aleksander Dragovic: "[He] is behind them in that, in terms of his conditioning. We need to be mindful of that but I also understand that players need games to prove match fitness." Sep 14 - 6:50 PM

Robert Huth is progressing well in his recovery from an ankle injury, but will miss Saturday's clash with Chelsea at the King Power Stadium.

Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare stated that Huth "is fine" but Saturday's visit from Chelsea will come "too soon" for the defender to make his return. With the 33-year-old set to play in the under-23s match on Monday, in order to build his fitness and "sharpness", he could potentially be available for the Foxes' match with Huddersfield Town on Sept. 16. Meanwhile, Shakespeare confirmed that skipper Wes Morgan is fully fit. This means Morgan and Harry Maguire will likely start at center-back against the Premier League champions, while recent signing Aleksandar Dragovic could be named among the substitutes.

Robert Huth has been ruled out of Leicester City's Week 3 trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United.

Huth is still not fit for first team action despite training participating in train this week. Having recently recovered from ankle surgery, the center-back's omission does not come as a surprise. However, Huth's absence could leave Craig Shakespeare short at center-back with Harry Maguire in doubt after picking up a knock in the mid-week Carabao Cup victory at Sheffield United.

Leicester City manager Craig Shakespeare was handed a boost this week as Robert Huth returned to full training for the first time since undergoing ankle surgery.

Huth underwent surgery to correct an ongoing ankle problem in mid-July, but has now returned to training has come ahead of schedule, according to Shakespeare. "Robert Huth is back in training which is a real bonus because we thought he would be out for more time," the City boss said, "he will get some game-time with the under-23s on Monday, which is well ahead of schedule." Though Huth will still miss a few more matches, he appears on pace to be back in action sooner than his original expected absence of eight weeks. This means Harry Maguire will make his debut at Arsenal on Friday alongside skipper Wes Morgan, and hold a place in the starting XI until Huth is fully fit.

Leicester City defender Robert Huth is expected miss the start of the Premier League season after undergoing minor ankle surgery.

Huth has undergone surgery to repair some minor ankle damage he suffered in preseason training and faces up to eight weeks on the sidelines. The 32-year-old's injury opens the door for summer signing Harry Maguire to partner Wes Morgan at center-back when Leicester kick-off the season on Friday 11 August with a trip to Arsenal. Manager Craig Shakespeare said: "It is unfortunate for Robert but we thought the diagnoses could be even worse so, on a positive spin, we think in six to eight weeks he will be back. Fortunately Harry has Premier League experience and he’s at a good age. We needed cover in that centre-half position." In terms of fantasy impact, Maguire is worth a look in both salary cap and draft leagues. However, it should be noted that three of Leicester's opening four matches are against top seven clubs.

Robert Huth couldn't get out of the way of Nacho Monreal's shot and the deflection, ruled an own goal, ended up as the only goal of the match.

Leicester City have one point to show for their four matches against the Gunners since the start of last season. Arsenal were the only club to beat the Foxes twice last season as Claudio Ranieri's boys shocked the world. Fast forward a year and it looked like it was going to be two nil-nil draws this season as Craig Shakespeare's edition of the Foxes were well on their way to authoring a valiant holding action in the face of dominant Arsenal possession. It was not to be as Robert Huth inadvertently steered Nacho Monreal's shot, which was headed well wide, into the net in the 86th minute.

Leicester City return to the King Power Stadium down but not out after suffering a 1-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinal first-leg on Wednesday.

The Foxes hoped for a better result, but in truth, the final score accurately reflected the match. Madrid wasted no time putting the visitors under pressure and enjoyed all of the attacking chances at the Vicente Calderon, as Leicester were pinned back and unable to threaten going forward. Following a plethora of early chances, Alti deservedly found the breakthrough when Antoine Griezmann converted a controversial penalty after Marc Albrighton was judged to have brought the striker down in the box--despite the foul having been committed on the edge of the area. The second-half again saw Alti on the front foot but Leicester showed drastic improvement, with a valiant defensive display to keep their European aspirations alive. While the Foxes return home with a favorable aggregate score, the club will be without Robert Huth through a yellow card ban.

Apr 12 - 6:14 PM

Leicester City will be without key defensive duo Robert Huth and Christian Fuchs for their Boxing Day clash with Everton after picking up their fifth bookings of the season.

The absences of Robert Huth and Christian Fuchs are big blows for Claudio Ranieri's side, and the Italian manager will likely call upon Luis Hernandez and Ben Chilwell to step into the starting XI to fill the voids on Box Day. Hernandez seems the leading candidate to partner Wes Morgan at center, while the 20-year-old Chilwell would be making his Premier League debut. However, the notable omissions have been softened by the successful return of first-choice goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel. Meanwhile, Ranieri will also be forced to cope with the three-match ban of leading striker Jamie Vardy. The overall effect of a much changed lineup could also see Ranieri experiment with a new formation, potentially using the 4-3-1-2 he switched to during their 2-2 draw at Stoke City last weekend.

Robert Huth carries the final match of a three match suspension into this season meaning that he will miss the Foxes' season-opening match against Hull City.

The Foxes should cruise to victory against a Hull City side decimated by ownership failings, the departure of their manager on the eve of the season, and a few key injuries as well. If ever Huth was going to miss a match, this is one that Claudio Raineri isn't likely to sweat. Look for Wes Morgan to be joined by new arrival Luis Rodriguez at the back.

Leicester City made the biggest statement for their case to be title-winners this season, defeating Manchester City at The Etihad, 0-3, with two goals from Robert Huth.

Every week, people wonder if the Foxes can maintain their Cinderella story season, and every week they only seem to get stronger. They went ahead quickly, when Huth turned in from close range, coming from a Riyad Mahrez free kick in the 3rd minute. It was three minutes into the second half when Mahrez broke down a shoddy defensive effort by the Citizens to work his way into the area and fire home his 14th league goal. Huth then put the game to bed on the hour mark, heading in from a Christian Fuchs corner. The Foxes got a bit too comfortable late on and would concede, but overall, they look as sharp as they have all season. They are now six points clear of Manchester City for the top spot.

In a contest that saw several chances for both sides, it was Leicester City who finally broke through with a Robert Huth goal to earn three big points in a 0-1 against Tottenham.

Leicester had gone their three previous league matches without a goal and it took until the 83rd minute tonight to break out of the rut, but it was enough to keep them in contention for a Champions League spot this season. They had chances along the way including a volley by Danny Drinkwater that took a superb save from Hugo Lloris to keep out and a flurry of three chances in quick succession from close range in the the 76th minute that Spurs were able to survive. The goal came from a Christian Fuchs corner that found Huth deep in the box and he placed a long-range header past the outstretched arms of Lloris to seal the points. There are still concerns with the Foxes attack, with Jamie Vardy blanking for the fifth straight time, but Leicester will worry about that later and cherish the victory tonight.

Robert Huth scored in Leicester's comeback from 2-0 down to lead the Foxes to a 3-2 win against Birmingham City.

Leicester looked good in the second half of the friendly and deservedly scored three goals in the comeback. Huth was one of their best players down the stretch last season and he seems to be going into this year with the same form. The other two Leicester goals came from Shinji Okazaki and Danny Drinkwater, who are both competing for a starting spots this season.

Leicester City have signed Stoke defender Robert Huth for a fee in the region of £3m.

Huth was on loan at Leicester last season and played close to 1200 minutes in 14 matches. He had a goal on record and played some solid defense at times during the season, although his performance is certainly not exceptional and won't help Leicester get into the top 10 in the league. If the price is indeed around £3m, that's a good signing for Leicester for a player who should be a backup but can start if needed.

Leicester City have signed Stoke City defender Robert Huth on loan until the end of the season.

The 30-year-old made 187 appearances for the Potters after joining the club for £5m from Middlesbrough in 2009. The German is currently serving a two-game Football Association ban for comments made on social media. He will miss the Foxes' Premier League match against Crystal Palace at the King Power Stadium on Saturday, but will be available for the trip to Emirates Stadium to face Arsenal on 10 February. Huth, who started his professional career at Chelsea in 2002, won the Premier League twice in his four years at Stamford Bridge.

Robert Huth has been something of a forgotten man at Stoke City due to injuries but he is getting closer and faces a fitness check ahead of the Potters' Week 15 match with Arsenal.

Even given Stoke City's other injury woes, it seems unlikely that Mark Hughes would throw the German defender back into the deep end by starting him against Arsenal. It is more likely that he will be given another week to recover before being considered for the Potters' Week 16 match.
