Eric Black confirmed Ciaran Clark is ready to return this weekend but Kieran Richardson will remain on the side-lines.
The pair missed last weekends’ home defeat to Southampton after sustaining injuries on the eve of the match, but while Clark has been passed fit for the trip to Vicarage Road – Richardson is struggling to shake off a calf problem. "Ciaran is doing okay now," revealed Black after the defender re-joined the group in training on Thursday. "Apart from that, Kieran Richardson hasn't recovered in time from his calf injury." Micah Richards is facing a race against time to be fit for this weekend: "We will see if he is ready," said the caretaker boss. Thu, Apr 28, 2016 04:38:00 PM

Sunderland target old faces Kieran Richardson and Fabio Borini in an attempt to turn around their desperate start to the season…

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Dick Advocaat has turned to two old faces to tackle some familiar problems. No points from two matches – both of which could be considered ‘six pointers’ – with seven conceded is not what fans expected. The pre-season optimism surrounding new signings has quickly disappeared and the prospect of veteran Richardson and unproven Borini will do little to restore it. 21-year-old debutant Duncan Watmore has looked the Black Cats most effective striker so far this season, scoring with just their second shot on target at Norwich. Nothing too surprising there, but the newly assembled back four has even fallen below last season’s standards. This week’s team meeting needs to provide a solution, or at least a reaction otherwise Dick Advocaat will be re-thinking his retirement. Perhaps he need to convince his players it is April…

Kieran Richardson is at risk of missing the remainder of the season - and therefore the upcoming FA Cup final - as the left-sided player suffers a calf strain during training.

In his absence Alan Hutton returned to the eleven for the trip to St Marys’ in Tim Sherwood’s only change from the win over Everton but following a 3-minute Sadio Mane blitz he probably wished he hadn’t. Mane broke the BPL record for the quickest hat-trick – 2mins 56 seconds – and also the earliest hat-trick to maintain Southampton's hopes of Europa League qualification. However it was a day of mixed emotions for Villa who were embarrassed 6-1 in the early kick-off before results later confirmed that their top flight status had been secured for another season. With a dead-rubber game to come Tim Sherwood will consider his options ahead of the FA Cup final – Nathan Baker is back in contention after training this week while Gabby Agbonlahor has been waiting patiently for his chance after returning from injury.

Kieran Richardson and Aly Cissokho will both miss out on a second consecutive match as Aston Villa host Midlands rivals West Brom on Tuesday.

Matt Lowton is likely to deputize again as Villa and new manager Tim Sherwood find themselves down to their third choice behind KRich and Cissokho. The Tuesday match takes on added importance over and above the bitter rivalry. With Villa continuing to spend time in the relegation zone three points are critical to survival over and above local bragging rights.

Kieran Richardson limped off late in the first half of Aston Villa's Week 26 defeat to Stoke City and will not be ready in time for their Week 27 trip to Newcastle.

With Aly Cissokho also questionable due to injury, Tim Sherwood is facing a bit of a crisis at left back as his relegation-threatened squad head to St. James Park. With the threat of the drop very much real Sherwood's managerial creativity will be tested if he has to cope with a makeshift left back in addition to missing Ron Vlaar who will be suspended after picking up two yellow cards against the Potters.

Kieran Richardson was making his first appearance since the drubbing at the Emirates in early February and his bright start under the stewardship of new boss Tim Sherwood was disappointingly cut short after 40 minutes on Saturday through injury.

Richardson was the preferred left-back resigning Aly Cissokho to a spot on the bench but a first half calf injury curtailed his involvement just moments before Stoke scored an equaliser to go in at the break level. However Tim Sherwood was said to be encouraged by a number of performances which included Richardson who "was very lively." Scott Sinclair was also worthy of a mention as the Manchester City loanee grabbed his second consecutive goal - the winger is hoping get his career back on track after struggling since leaving Swansea in 2012. Ron Vlaar will miss GW27 after the skipper gave away a penalty and received his second yellow card following a lunge on Victor Moses deep into injury time which condemned Villa to their sixth home defeat.

Kieran Richardson will return on New Year's Day from a three-match ban.

It's unknown if Richardson will regain his starting spot, and even if he does, he isn't to be considered in the Yahoo! game. His price/upside ratio is too high and there are better options highlighted in Nik's player picks linked below.

Kieran Richardson went in studs up in the 21st minute and was rightly sent off sentencing Aston Villa to a 1-0 loss.

Aston Villa haven't been very good going forward even when playing even strength. It comes as no surprise that they were unable to score against local rivals West Brom after Kieran Richardson was red cardedearly. Villa mounted a minimal attack and ultimately conceded in the second half on a rebound falling to former Villa man Craig Gardner.

Aston Villa have signed left-back Kieran Richardson on a two-year deal.

Richardson played for Fulham last season, averaging just a bit over five fantasy points per game in the Yahoo! game. He played 31 matches, scoring four times and assisting three. He can play a variety of positions, including in midfield, and was actually listed as a midfielder in fantasy last year. That hurts his value as he can't earn clean sheet points. Richardson will likely battle Antonio Luna and Joe Bennett for the left-back spot but has claimed he is willing to play at any position. He isn't likely to be a fantasy threat.

Fulham were thrashed by Stoke City in a 4-1 loss which, along with a Sunderland win, has sealed their fate as a club who will be relegated to the Championship next season.

Fulham are out of the top flight for the first time since 2001. Personnel decisions since last summer along with untimely injuries played a significant role in their poor season, as big names like Dimitar Berbatov underachieved and no other striker could establish themselves as reliable. The fact that Steven Sidwell finishes as their top goal scorer tells the story. Meanwhile, the defense leaked more goals than anyone this season, letting four more by today. They have a ton of veterans and wages to offload as they look to rebuild and fight to return in the 2015/2016 season.

Kieran Richardson played a part in both of Fulham's goals against Liverpool, scoring once and setting up a cross that resulted in a Kolo Toure own goal, but the Cottagers could not keep the Reds down, giving up the lead twice and eventually falling 2-3.

Fulham were arguably the better sider for more than a half, but superior talent eventually won out as the Cottagers were surely knackered coming off an intense draw at Old Trafford a few days ago. Darren Bent was handed a start, perhaps his last with Kostas Mitroglou close to making his debut. Maarten Stekelenburg had to come off with a knock and was replaced by David Stockdale in what has been an injury plagued first season at the Cottage.

Keiran Richardson, who has been out with a hamstring injury since going off on opening weekend, is fit to feature again for Fulham.

John Arne Riise's run at left back appears likely to end this weekend as Keiran Richardson returns to health. The converted midfielder has been absent since injuring his hamstring in Week 1 but is set to return for Martin Jol against West Brom. Given West Brom's scoring issues you might think KRich would be an interesting fantasy option but he is listed as a midfielder in the Yahoo game and, as a result, won't get clean sheet points even if West Brom's scoring woes continue.
