Chelsea's Andre Schurrle could be a good midfield option to focus on as Swansea visit Stamford Bridge in Week 4.
If you're looking to supplement Cesc Fabregas, or even looking for an alternative in your fantasy midfield then we'd take a look at Schurrle. The German winger will come up against Neil Taylor, who struggled against Adnan Januzaj in Week 1 and was subbed after an early booking, so expect Jose Mourinho to explore that potential weakness in the Swansea defence. Andre Schurrle started and played spectacularly in Chelsea's win over Burnley yesterday.

Schurrle had an amazing World Cup, winning the trophy with Germany, and has taken his form to the Premier League. Chelsea played really well with Cesc Fabregas organizing the attack from the middle and that allowed Eden Hazard and Andre Schurrle to make great runs down the flanks. One of those runs resulted in a brilliant goal for Schurrle. The German winger can score and create chances for his teammates and seems like the number one choice at right-wing this year. Willian will certainly get playing time but we'd feel safe about using Schurrle in fantasy.

Germany have won the 2014 FIFA World Cup with a late extra time goal from Mario Gotze.

The final scored was 1-0 in favor of Germany. Germany and Argentina both played well in the final, but the Germans proved to the better team. Chelsea's Andre Schurrle came on in the 30th minute to replace the injured Christoph Kramer and had a phenomenal match. Schurrle provided pace down the left hand side and the Argentine defense had trouble containing him. The move also allowed Mesut Ozil to play in his favorite position in the middle of the pitch. At the end, it was Schurrle who plays a magnificent ball to Mario Gotze, who chested the ball down and scored with a nice volley. The Germans were undoubtedly the best team in the tournament and fully deserve the victory.

Germany destroyed Brazil 7-1 in what is one of the biggest World Cup shocks of all time.

This is the biggest embarrassment for Brazil since they lost a World Cup final at home in 1950. The German team scored an incredible four goals in just six minutes in the first half and went into halftime with a 5-0 lead. Thomas Muller, Miroslav Klose, Toni Kroos, and Sami Khedira all scored in that historic first half. In the second, Chelsea substitute Andre Schurrle came on to score two goals in finish off Brazil. In the late minutes of the match, fellow Chelsea star Oscar scored a consolation goal for Brazil as they walked off the pitch as one of the biggest embarrassments the country has ever experienced. Germany face the winner of Argentina and the Netherlands in the final on Sunday.

Germany were not dominant by any means but an early goal by Mats Hummels was all that was required to fend off France as they head to the World Cup semi-final round for a record fourth straight time after a 0-1 win.

In a match that lacked the drama we have grown accustomed to in this tournament, there was still a flash of excellence when Toni Kroos delivered a superb ball from a deep free kick that found the head of Mats Hummels who guided it home. Hummels becomes the first defender in World Cup 2014 with two goals. Otherwise the attack lacked fluidity, though a substitute appearance by Schurrle in the final quarter hour offered a noticeably upgraded threat. Germany now await the winner of Brazil v Colombia later today.

Andre Schurrle starred in Germany's 6-1 blowout in over Armenia.

The German team dominated from start to finish despite failing to score in the first half. The second half started quickly and Andre Schurrle opened up the scoring in the 52nd minute. Lucas Podolski, Benedikt Howedes, Miroslav Klose, and Mario Gotze(2x) finished off the scoring for Germany. The German team looks incredibly dangerous and will be prime candidates to win this year's World Cup. The match saw them lose one of their big weapons to injury - Marco Reus - but the squad has capable replacements ready.

Andre Schurrle scored off the bench in Germany's 2-2 draw against Camerron as the teams get ready for the World Cup.

The Germans were the better team but couldn't score in the first half while dominating the match. They got unlucky several times, hitting the post and getting shots saved in spectacular fashion. Andre Schurrle and Thomas Muller scored for Germany while Samuel Eto'o and Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting scored for Cameroon. Eto'o will look to impress teams during the World Cup as he hopes to play in one of Europe's top leagues after getting released by Chelsea.

Andre Schurrle scored a hat-trick to give Chelsea a 3-1 away win at Fulham and a four point lead on second place Arsenal.

The first half was quiet but Schurrle and Eden Hazard picked Fulham apart in the second. Schurrle finished two beautiful balls from Hazard and another from Fernando Torres to score his first ever hat-trick for Chelsea. Considering the German only had a total of three fantasy points from weeks 16 to 27, I wouldn't add him to my fantasy squad just yet. He hasn't cemented a starting spot in Mourinho's lineup and is a risky add to say the least. It's encouraging that he also got the start against Galatasaray in the Champions League in midweek, but the job isn't strictly his just yet.

Andre Schurrle was another Chelsea player to return from injury today as he came on to play about 25 minutes during Chelsea's Champions League match.

It appears his injury wasn't serious and the German has made a speedy recovery. He is not a recommended fantasy play at the moment as he doesn't have a regular spot in Jose Mourinho's rotation.

Andre Schurrle scored twice in Chelsea's loss to Stoke City but left the game with a calf injury.

Schurrle was replaced by Samuel Eto'o in the 70th minute and Jose Mourinho stated after the game that Schurrle "came off because he had a calf injury. He told me he couldn't continue". The extent of the injury is unknown but Chelsea's next Premier League match is a week from now so he has time to recover. Chelsea face Steaua Bucuresti in a midweek Champions League clash.

Andre Schurrle scored a spectacular turnaround goal to help Germany beat Ireland 3-0 in the team's World Cup qualifier.

Germany is now guaranteed a stop in the World Cup and will be one of the favorites to win it. Andre Schurrle will be expected to be a major part of that squad. Schurrle has had an overall good start to the Premier League season but a congested Chelsea midfield sometimes limits his playing time. His role should remain about the same going forward.

Andre Schurrle impressed for Chelsea in their Champions League game against Steaua Bucharest.

Schurrle was unstoppable all night and could have easily won man of the match had Ramires not stolen the show with two goals. There is a chance Schurrle starts up top this weekend with an injured Fernando Torres, but it's more likely Eto'o starts up top and Schurrle continues playing on the wing. Mourinho keeps saying playing time is earned on the pitch and if he sticks to his word, Schurrle needs to play this weekend.
