Antonio Luna has left Aston Villa for La Liga side Eibar.
Luna played a fair amount in his first season at Aston Villa but lost his spot in the rotation halfway through the season and never found his form again. He was later loaned out to Italian side Verona but never even featured. He will now try to resurrect his career in his homeland but the chances aren't in his favor. Sat, Jul 11, 2015 06:32:00 AM

Antonio Luna has joined Italian club Hellas Verona on a season-long loan.

Luna has fallen out of favor at Aston Villa and has left on a season-long loan. The left-back never really settled in at Villa Park and struggled to adapt with the Premier League's style of play. Aston Villa have had a terrible summer so far, signing two past-their-prime players in Joe Cole and Philippe Senderos, and have failed to bring in anyone exciting. They also let youngster Marc Albrighton leave the club for free, a decision that was questioned by many. Look for them to be fighting the relegation battle this season.

Anthony Luna trained in advance of the Manchester United match, and will be in line to play barring any reaction.

Luna missed Aston Villa's match against Fulham, with Ciaran Clark deputizing. Clark had a decent fantasy day against the Whites, but Manchester United should present a different challenge and Luna's experience, and willingness to join in the attack, will be valuable for Villa.

Toni Luna has been ruled out for Aston Villa's game against Fulham on Sunday with a minor groin injury.

Luna missed a few games due to a hamstring injury but returned for Villa's last match against Sunderland and played the entire match. In his absence, Ciaran Clark, Nathan Baker, and Leandro Bacuna are expected to start but Matthew Lowton can also contend for a starting spot considering Ron Vlaar is also out.

Aston Villa are expecting Antonio Luna to return this weekend against Sunderland.

Luna has been out with a hamstring injury but could be available this weekend. A bench role is more likely for Luna while he works up to full match fitness.

Antonio Luna is expected to return in late November and is unlikely to play this weekend.

Luna should be expected around November 25th when Aston Villa travel to West Brom. Aston Villa started Ron Vlaar, Nathan Baker, and Ciaran Clark in the back last week with Luna's absence. Matthew Lowton and Leandro Bacuna played wide, right in front of the back three. Expect a similar lineup until Luna returns. Aston Villa have a favorable matchup at home against Cardiff City and the back three are not a bad play for the week.

Anthony Luna will miss Aston Villa's match against West Ham this weekend with a hamstring injury.

Luna joins Joe Bennett and Gabby Agbonlahor on the treatment table. Villa will go into the West Ham match without a recognized left back and will have to have someone play our of position, or possibly switch to a 3-5-2 system. That would actually match their personnel as well as counter West Ham's recent 4-6-0 formation.

Antonio Luna and Nathan Baker are both expected to be back from injury by this weekend's match against Newcastle.

Both Luna and Baker have a good chance of starting on Saturday, Luna the more confident choice of the two. Baker could have lost his place to Jores Okore, who has performed well in his Baker's absence. Ciaran Clark is also in the mix for a starting spot at center back so that makes Clark, Okore, and Baker three players to avoid this week until a permanent starter emerges.

Antonio Luna had a big debut match for Aston Villa scoring their third goal in their 3-1 win over Arsenal.

The defender, who also saw a dubious yellow card at the end of the first half, broke up the right side of the field on a late Villa counter attack. In all alone from an Andreas Weimann pass he slotted low and to the left of the Arsenal keeper to make his debut a joyous one. Given that he isn't likely to score too often, Luna's debut didn't provide a great deal of insight into his fantasy potential as he spent most of his time defending rather than getting forward.
