Nathaniel Chalobah has been called in to the England squad for the first time as the Three Lions face off with Malta and Slovakia in World Cup qualifying early next month.
The move from Chelsea to Watford has already been a successful one for Chalobah when it comes to featuring in the first team at the club level. That success has quickly translated to the international level as he picks up his first call to the senior England squad and looks to be capped for the first time. With Watford looking to head into the international break undefeated in the league it has been a great August for Chalobah who has played a key part in Marco Silva's revitalization of the Hornets. Nathan Chalobah appears to have assumed at least some set piece duties for the Hornets in pre-season action.

You certainly can't judge a season by how pre-season goes but one interesting note from Watford's training ground friendly with Glasgow Rangers on Wednesday was that Nathan Chalobah took at least one set piece in the attacking third. With a free kick positioned just outside the penalty area, Chalobah forced a save from the Rangers goalkeeper. He was also involved in the Hornets only goal as a long range shot from the former Chelsea academy man rebounded off the cross-bar to Stefano Okaka to score from close in. Watford certainly need more in the center of the park so Chalobah's progress is definitely worth watching.

Marco Silva has continued remaking the Watford side with the transfer of Nathaniel Chalobah from Chelsea. The player signed a five-year contract with his new club.

A generation of Chelsea youth hopefuls seem to be slowly leaving the club after finding opportunities to reach the first team elusive. This summer alone has seen high profile youngsters Dominic Solanke and Chalobah leave on a permanent basis. The native of Sierra Leone can play both as a defender and a holding midfielder but is most often deployed in central midfield. The move comes after six loan deals (Watford, Nottingham Forrest, Middlesbrough, Burnley, Reading, and Napoli) and while the profile of the clubs he's joined has improved, he has struggled for first team football at all stops. With Watford now invested in his future due to the move being a permanent one, this could be his opportunity to show what he can do.

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is ready to hand rising academy talents their fair chance at breaking into the first team, but stated they must earn their place after Saturday's 3-0 win over Leicester City.

Conte used three home-grown youngsters - Nathaniel Chalobah, Ola Aina and Ruben Loftus-Cheek - as second-half substitutes last weekend. Shining brightest was Chalobah, who assisted on the Blues' third goal scored by Victor Moses with a clever piece of link play. After the match Conte revealed that form, not age, will be the ultimate factor in determining who he selections in his first team. "People who know me will know I don't gift a place to anyone," Conte said. "Only those who deserve to play will play for me. It is important for Chalobah and Aina to understand this." Conte also added: "In the future they can play from the start. Age is not important. I made my first appearance in Serie A at only 16."

Chelsea's highly rated midfielder Nathaniel Chalobah has joined Championship strugglers Reading on loan until the end of the season.

Reading are 18th in the league and but manager Steve Clarke knows more about Chalobah's potential than most, as he was an assistant to Jose Mourinho during the Portuguese's first tenure at Stamford Bridge. The England under-21 international's versatility means he also offers cover in defence and Clarke believes Chalobah can help guide The Royals further away from the drop zone.

Burnley have acquired the services of midfielder/defender Nathaniel Chalobah from Chelsea on a loan deal which will expire in January.

Chalobah continues to be farmed out as the 19 year old develops. This follows loan spells with Watford, Nottingham Forest and Middlesbrough but now Chalobah will get a chance to experience life in the top flight. It should be a positive addition to aid in Burnley's survival hopes. With the pedigree of being Chelsea property, Chalobah should have a chance to see plenty of pitch time at Turf Moor.

Nathaniel Chalobah has joined Middlesbrough on a loan for the rest of the season.

The Chelsea defender has been given to Middlesbrough so he can gain experience and valuable playing time. The 21 year old just returned from a loan at Nottingham Forest but Chelsea and the defender have decided for him to go to a different club for the rest of the season. Chalobah wasn't going to get much playing time at Chelsea this season but could be a starter for the Blues once John Terry leaves the club.
