Chelsea have sent striker Patrick Bamford to Burnley FC on a season-long loan spell.
This deal was reported yesterday but becomes official today, as Bamford is loaned out to a third Premier League side since last summer. His previous two stints, half-seasons at Crystal Palace and Norwich City were entirely disappointing, making only thirteen combined appearances for two sides that did not have top-level strikers to block him from playing time, but he failed to score a single goal and it was a year that surely stunted his development. He is still only 22-years-old though and had an excellent campaign two seasons ago when loaned to Middlesbrough, so there is still hope for a breakout. He is firmly behind Andre Gray in the pecking order but could challenge Sam Vokes for starts at some stage in Sean Dyche's 4-4-2 system. He is only worth adding in fantasy draft leagues if you are desperate for a striker that might eventually be of use. Aug 30 - 6:48 AM

Aston Villa manager Roberto Di Matteo has lined up Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford as one of his top targets this summer.

The former Chelsea manager is reportedly impressed with the 22-year-old's success in the Championship during his loan spells at Derby County and Middlesbrough, where he won Championship Player of the Year honours in 2014/15. Bamford made 13 Premier League appearances last season, but struggled to find first-team playing time while on loan at Crystal Palace and later Norwich City. Newcastle is also reportedly interested in a loan for the forward while Aston Villa favors a permanent deal, which would cost around £10 million.

Norwich City announced that Chelsea forward Patrick Bamford has joined the club on loan through the end of the season after returning from his loan at Crystal Palace.

The 22-year-old was the Championship Player of the Year last season while on loan at Middlesbrough after scoring 17 goals, but lost to Norwich in the promotion playoff. Now he joins the Canaries after a disappointing loan spell at Crystal Palace that saw him make only six Premier League appearances without netting a single goal. Norwich have already added Steven Naismith in the current transfer window while losing Lewis Grabban, but Bamford won't be a shoe-in to start as he will have to compete with Cameron Jerome and Dieumerci Mbokani at the forward position.

Crystal Palace announced Patrick Bamford has cancelled his season-long loan at the club and will return to parent club Chelsea after more than five months in south London.

Bamford expressed his frustration following the club's 0-0 draw with Swansea City in Week 19: "This was my last game for Palace. f I were being honest, it has been terrible. No one wants to sit on the bench and not play." Despite a series of injuries on the front-line, Bamford still didn't see a start in the Premier League for the Eagles, making only six league appearances this season. However, Bournemouth and Swansea City are among multiple clubs reportedly interested in taking the 22-year-old on loan for the remainder of the season.

A double boost for Crystal Palace as Chelsea confirm the loan agreement for striker Patrick Bamford and QPR goal keeper is photographed with Palace’s Head of Sports Medicine Zafar Iqbal…

New loanee Patrick Bamford should arrive at Palace with a spring in his step having just signed a new three-year deal with the PL Champions. A nice touch from Jose Mourinho which new boss Alan Pardew will be hoping to reap the benefits from. Another 19 goals, like Bamford hit on loan at Middlesbrough last season will do very nicely. At the other end of the field the proposed deal for QPR’s highly rated goalkeeper Alex McCarthy looks to be on the brink of going through. The stopper was spotted - and snapped – with Palace Head of Sports Medicine close to the club’s head office in Soho. The photo was tweeted by a fan at 3pm, so if the deal isn’t going through QPR manager Chris Ramsey might be looking for an explanation…

Crystal Palace have confirmed an agreement with Chelsea to take their coveted striker Patrick Bamford on loan next season…

Boss Alan Pardew is celebrating another coup, beating several PL clubs including Aston Villa and Newcastle to the signature of Patrick Bamford. For a season, at least. Chelsea’s 21-year-old striker was voted the Championship Player of the Years last season, scoring 19 goals in 43 appearances for Middlesbrough. Just missing out on promotion to the PL in the Play-offs. Bamford is Palace’s second signing of the summer, following the record £12m capture of French international Yohan Cabaye. And there could be more on the way. Pardew is still looking for a center-back and ready to bid up to £10m for Swansea’s Ashley Williams. With ESPN reporting that his former Newcastle skipper Fabricio Coloccini could also be a target.

The Newcastle Evening Chronicle understands that Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford will come under serious consideration once United confirm Steve McClaren as the clubs’ new Head Coach.

Bamford played under McClaren during 2013/14 season at Derby and despite an unhappy loan spell which returned just 2-goals in 23 appearances the England under-21 striker is said to be open to a switch North as opportunities at Stamford Bridge look limited. Bamford impressed in the Championship with Middlesboro last season and were it not for his troublesome ankle issue the youngster may have fired Boro into the BPL. However the move would come at a cost – around $17 million – representing a large investment for a player unproven at the top level who would be expected to deliver quickly. Newcastle will prioritise a striker(s) and with Charlie Austin seemingly out of reach United have been forced to target more realistic options in order to bolster their squad and avoid a repeat performance of last seasons’ capitulation.

Young Chelsea striker Patrick Bamford will not feature for the under-21s this summer as England mount their challenge to become European Champions.

Bamford impressed during his season long loan deal at Championship side Middlesbrough scoring 19-times - despite being hampered by a persistent ankle injury - and will now take the summer to rest and recover. The Teesiders' narrowly missed out on promotion to the Premier League losing to Norwich City in the play-off final. However his withdrawal will not leave under-21 manager Gareth Southgate too disappointed as the former Aston Villa defender will be able to call upon a wealth of Premier League talent including the likes of Danny Ings, Harry Kane and Saido Berahino as England establish themselves as one the tournament favourites. The U21 European Championships kick-off in just under 2-weeks.

Chelsea loanee Patrick Bamford scored early in the second half from a scramble in front of net and Kike settled it late as Middlesbrough stunned Manchester City at the Etihad.

City are truly struggling as they went from dropping points in consecutive Premier League matches to losing to Championship Middlesbrough in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Saturday. The loss is disappointing but not nearly as disappointing as how poorly City played. One potential goal from a deflected Kolarov shot hit the post late and the referee missed a hand ball in the box from a Boro defender but beyond those two incidents there wasn't much from City who started a number of first team players including Sergio Aguero and David Silva.

Chelsea and Derby County have agreed to terms on a season long loan for England U21 international Patrick Bamford.

The 20-year-old forward scored 16 goals in 29 appearances while on loan at MK Dons, but now that his deal is up he'll be joining the Rams of the Football League Championship for the remainder of the season. The up-and-coming England international will be in line for some quality playing time, but he will not be eligible to feature when Derby take on Chelsea in the FA Cup third round on Sunday. On January 31, 2012 Bamford joined Chelsea on a five-year, £1.5 million contract.
