Alabama made Michigan State look silly in the Capital One Bowl as they rolled to a 49-7 victory.  Greg McElroy passed for 220 yards and a touchdown.  The running game was superb with Eddie Lacy rushing for 86 yards and two scores on just five carries, Mark Ingram running for two scores and 59 yards, and Trent Richardson chipping in 42 yards and a touchdown.  Marquis Maze led all receivers with 77 yards and a score.
There was not much stellar fantasy production because the game got out of hand early. Sun, Jan 2, 2011 05:30:00 PM

According to a list published by USA Today, Alabama coach Nick Saban is the highest compensated coach in the country with a base salary of $5,166,666 from the University.

Is it coincidence that Saban's base salary just so happens to be $66,666 more that the second highest coach, Texas' Mack Brown?

Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy passed for a career high 377 yards and two touchdowns in the close loss to Auburn.

McElroy has been a solid option in SEC leagues this year.

Although the Crimson Tide lost to South Carolina, quarterback Greg McElroy looked awfully good as he completed 27-of-34 passes for 315 yards and two touchdowns.

McElroy has the capabilities to put the team on his back as he showed in this game but is only worth a start in SEC leagues.

Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy is still limping from a leg bruise suffered in Saturday's win over Arkansas.

The injury shouldn't keep him out of this week's contest against Florida.

As expected, Alabama not only stifled the Spartans offense but they flexed their offensive might.  Collectively the Crimson Tide had 591 yards of offense and six touchdowns.  Greg McElroy led the air attack with 218 yards and a touchdown, Eddie Lacy paced the ground game with 111 yards and two scores, and Julio Jones led the team with 93 yards receiving and one touchdown.

There were no insane numbers put up by any particular player as the Tide distributed the ball quite a bit.

Greg McElroy put on a passing clinic at Alabama's first scrimmage going 26-of-33 for 360 yards and six touchdowns.  Backup A.J. McCarron chipped in 241 yards on 21-of-26 passing and another two touchdowns.

This could be the sign of a rebuilding defense or a greater emphasis on a balanced attack... or both.  However, still consider the Alabama defense a top unit in any league.

Tony Barnhart of the Atlanta Journal Constitution believes less carries are in store for Alabama running back Mark Ingram in 2010 due to the emergence of Trent Richardson and the development of the passing game and quarterback Greg McElroy.

Ingram has had his doubters from day one.  But you won't find them here.  Let others doubt and scoop him up on draft day.

Alabama 2011 recruit Marvin Shinn says coach Nick Saban has assured him "they're going to put it in the air this year."

Saban would probably tell a high school punter that they'll punt on 3rd down more if he thought it would help. Still the Tide opening up the offense a bit more seems to be the thought of most experts.

For the second year in a row, Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy is attending the famed Manning passing camp. After attending the camp last year, all McElroy did was win a national championship.  So it only makes sense that he should win another one, right?  Well maybe not but this should help his development as a passer.

McElroy should be considered a QB1 in SEC-only leagues and a decent spot starter in all-120 leagues.

Backup quarterback A.J. McCarron was 17-of-30 for 215 yards and a score in Alabama's scrimmage on Saturday.  McCarron bested starter Greg McElroy, who threw for 156 yards, a score and two interceptions.

Alabama has been focused on their passing game this spring in hopes to open things up a bit, and McCarron has responded with two strong scrimmages in a row. While McElroy's job appears safe, I don't think Nick Saban will be shy about inserting McCarron if McElroy struggles this fall.

The quarterbacks took center stage for Alabama in their first scrimmage of the spring. Starter Greg McElroy threw for 235 yards and a touchdown, while backup A.J. McCarron completed 21-of-28 for 229 yards and three touchdowns.

This is certainly encouraging news for Crimson Tide fans and fantasy owners alike. It seems there may be more weapons in the Alabama offensive arsenal, and more options for your fantasy roster in 2010 (that didn't exist last year).

Alabama quarterback Greg McElroy says his ribs are fully recovered and should be ready for the start of spring camp on Friday.

With teams sure to focus more and more on Mark Ingram and the run game, McElroy will likely be expected to become more of a force in the Tide's offense in 2010.

As a part of Alabama's NCAA BCS Championship celebration, the school will unveil a statue of Nick Saban at the Walk of Champions plaza. It is hoped the statue will be completed for the spring game.

We'll anxiously await the unveiling. There is no truth to the rumor that the statue will feature the highly-successful coach holding a bag of money in one hand and a bottle of hair spray in the other.
