Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops says that running back DeMarco Murray (knee) continues to improve.

Stoops didn't offer a definitive answer as to whether or not Murray would be ready for the Big XII Championship game.

Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops is encouraged about running back DeMarco Murray's (knee) ability to play in the Big XII Championship game. “DeMarco is much improved from (Sunday),” Stoops said. “We'll see as the week goes. I don't want to say something until it's for sure. But it's looking positive right now."

With the Big XII Championship and BCS bowl bid on the line, we expect Murray to do everything possible to play against Nebraska.

Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray took a helmet to his knee in the fourth quarter of last night's win over Oklahoma State. Murray was able to walk off the field under his own power and coach Bob Stoops said after the game he didn't believe it was serious. 

Let's hope so. Murray has had his share of injuries, especially late in the year. So far he's been able avoid the injury bug this year.  Murray finished the game with 80 yards rushing and 41 receiving.

Oklahoma speedster DeMarco Murray was held to 62 yards rushing and a score, however he hauled in six balls for 120 yards and an electric touchdown as the Sooner took care of business in Waco.

Murray's highlight-reel catch and run was the perfect example of #7's explosiveness. He now has 19 touchdowns on the campaign.

Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray should be ready to go this week against Baylor, according to coach Bob Stoops. Murray appeared to hurt his left arm/shoulder last week, which limited his touches.

Even dinged up a little bit, Murray should be a good start against Baylor.

Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray could only muster 80 yards and a score on 25 carries, though he did catch 10 balls for an additional 67 yards in the loss at College Station. 

Murray was held out of the end zone late in the game; the Aggie defense did a great job of keeping him in check.

Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray needs just 32 yards Saturday against Texas A&M to break Joe Washington's record for OU career all-purpose yards of 5,881.

Look for Murray to break the record and then some against the Aggie defense.

Oklahoma used a three-pronged ground attack (DeMarco Murray gained 40 yards on 11 carries, Roy Finch went 10 for 39 yards and Brennan Clay gained 38) as the Sooners outclassed an overmatched Colorado squad.

Only Murray was able to hit paydirt as the Sooners did the great majority of their damage through the air.

Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray was held to 49 yards on 12 carries while young Roy Finch gained 59 yards on his nine carries. Murray did catch eight balls for 48 yards and score in the loss at Mizzou.

Murray has been a true workhorse this season, though as Finch becomes more and more comfortable look for Murray to see a few more breathers.

Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray ran for 112 yards and two scores as the Sooners rolled Iowa State. He also scored a touchdown through the air.

Murray now has 13 scores on the season, and in only one game has he failed to post multiple touchdowns. He and the Sooners are exceeding all expectations.

Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray ran the ball 25 times for 115 yards and two scores in the win over Texas. He tacked on 31 receiving yards for good measure.

Murray is the top national running back through five weeks, and he's doing it with workmanlike efforts. Look for many more explosive outputs in the weeks to follow.

Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray ran the ball 28 times for 67 yards and a score in the win over Cincinnati.

Murray's 2.4 ypc isn't too pretty, and it's further evidence that the Sooner offensive line really needs to shore up its run blocking. They could only muster 82 yards on 42 team carries.

Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray ran for 111 rushing yards and two rushing TDs on 26 carries in a win over Air Force.  He added five receptions for 38 yards and another score.

Murray was the workhorse again for the Sooners, with no one else getting more than four carries.  He continues to display a nose for the end zone and has increased his involvement in the passing game the last two weeks.  Murray remains a must-start in all formats.

Oklahoma running back DeMarco Murray scored two more touchdown in a rout of Florida State.  He ran for just 50 yards on 16 carries but added four catches and 52 receiving yards.

Murray appeared to be shaken up after hitting the ground hard on his first TD dive, but he returned and showed no ill effects.  The Sooners also involved him more in the passing game this week, and they eventually turned the offense into the Landry Jones Show.  Regardless, it was another strong showing for Murray, who is a must-start in all formats.
