Following an impressive junior campaign capped by a 9-111-1 day in the Sugar Bowl blowout win, Florida tight end Aaron Hernandez is likely to seriously weigh whether he'll enter the NFL Draft or return for his senior season.

With a whole bunch of losses on offense and defense in Gainesville next season, there may be a little reloading taking place. And now may be the time for Hernandez to move on as it's hard to see him improving his draft stock in 2010.

University of Florida strength coach Mickey Marotti tells The Orlando Sentinel that 8-10 Gators have likely submitted their names for NFL draft status evaluation. The paper speculates that tight end Aaron Hernandez and running back Chris Rainey are in this group.

With Tim Tebow's departure we're already looking at a new era in Gainesville, and the losses of Hernandez and Rainey will lead to a more expedited youth movement...rather, changing of the guard.

Florida tight end Aaron Hernandez took home the John Mackey Award given to the nation's top tight end.

Hernandez beat out finalists Dorin Dickerson from Pittsburgh and Dennis Pitta from BYU.  Hernandez led the Gators in receptions with 59 for 739 yards and four touchdowns.

Florida tight end Aaron Hernandez was removed from Saturday's game with Florida International early, and coach Urban Meyer said, "we've got to have a little better week out of him this week."

Sounds like coach is just sending a message.

Florida tight end Aaron Hernandez has recovered from the flu but now has to deal with a hyperextended knee that has kept him out of practice.  Hernandez could return to  practice on Tuesday.  

If Hernandez misses more practice time he'll be a fantasy start risk against Kentucky on Saturday.

The Orlando Sentinel reports that Jeff Demps and Aaron Hernandez played Saturday despite flu-like symptoms, and coach Urban Meyer is worried about the illness engulfing his team.

Meyer and the Gators are taking every precaution to ensure that this illness is contained, though the H1N1 flu potential is real and one to monitor, in Gainesville and at programs across the country.
