Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill will miss the Jan. 28 Senior Bowl with a broken foot.
Some pundits have Tannehill as the third-best QB in the draft behind Andrew Luck and Robert Griffin III. The 6-foot-4, 222-pound former receiver threw for 329 yards in a Meineke Bowl win over Northwestern to finish his senior season with 3,744 yards and 29 touchdowns. Fri, Jan 13, 2012 10:42:00 AM

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill threw for three touchdowns in a 61-7 win over Kansas Saturday.

Tannehill had an extremely efficient day, going 21-for-26 (80.8 percent) and three touchdowns against the Jayhawks in a big win. Tannehill took care of the ball and did not thrown and interception for the first time in his last four games. The senior's rating was 209.3 on the day, and now has 26 touchdowns to 11 interceptions for the Aggies this season.

Texas A&M quarterback Ryan Tannehill throws for 415 yards and a career-high 6 touchdown passes in a 55-28 win over Baylor.

Tannehill had 7 touchdown passes coming in and his 415 yards were only 20 shy of the past two weeks combined against Arkansas and Texas Tech. His yardage total was also the second-highest of his career, trailing he threw for against Texas Tech last season.

Ryan Tannehill completed 25-of-35 passing for 247 yards with one interception in Texas A&M's second-half collapse to Arkansas.

"This is bizarre. It's hard to explain. It's hard to put your finger on it," Tannehill said. "None of us saw this coming. The game was in our hands the entire second half. I didn't feel like we were letting go of it. We're going to see this week what kind of men we have in this locker room and how we bounce back from this situation." For the second time in as many weeks the Aggies have imploded in the second half, coming off their 30-29 loss to Oklahoma State. Despite his triangle of talent, Tannehill's maligned turnover woes are becoming an unavoidable trend. His 6:5 TD-to-INT ratio and 7.74 yards per attempt are among the Big 12 laggards.

Just when you thought the conference re-alignment rumors were done, Texas goes and signs a television deal with ESPN that may have other Big XII members a bit miffed. Austin American Statesman's Kirk Bohls says don't be surprised to hear the Texas A&M to the SEC rumors start to swirl once again.

Unlike the SEC and Big Ten -- where schools don't try to eat their young -- the Big XII doesn't have an equal revenue sharing model. Eventually this will doom the Big XII as the separation from the haves and have-nots will only grow and some members will grow tired of Texas hogging all the spoils.

There were definitely times when he looked like a wide receiver playing quarterback, however Texas A&M's Ryan Tannehill passed for 225 yards and two scores (with two picks) as the Aggies took care of Oklahoma.

Tannehill made some questionable decisions and the Sooners weren't always able to make him pay. He brings a great deal of fantasy potential, however he's by no means a sure start on a weekly basis.

Texas A&M quarterback turned wide receiver turned quarterback Ryan Tannehill got the start under center against Texas Tech, and all he did was throw for 449 yards and four scores in the win over the Red Raiders.

Hard to envision veteran Jerrod Johnson getting his job back now. Tannehill will be a great starting option going forward.

If Texas A&M Mike Sherman knows who's starting at quarterback this weekend against Texas Tech, he's not telling, not even his quarterbacks. "No clue," quarterback/wide receiver Ryan Tannehill said when asked.

There is no reason to tip the Red Raiders off at this point. If we had to venture a guess, Jerrod Johnson gets the start, but both will play. But Sherman could throw us a curve ball and start Tannehill right out of the gate.

It's yet to be determined who will start at quarterback for Texas A&M this Saturday, "but all signs are pointing to (Ryan) Tannehill," writes Mac Engel of the Star-Telegram.

It's unknown if Engel is simply referring to last week's tune-up against Kansas or if he's seen something more in practice. At any rate, if you can start him as a receiver against Texas Tech this week, you should highly consider it.

Texas A&M coach Mike Sherman said that wide receiver/backup quarterback Ryan Tannehill hurt his elbow in the opener but should be fine.

Tannehill only caught one ball for nine yards in the opener, numbers that left many owners scratching their head.

Texas A&M QB/WR Ryan Tannehill continues to be a do-it-all player for the Aggies and will again likely split time as Jerrod Johnson's backup and wide receiver.  According to the article, he's spent about 90 percent of fall camp at QB.

Tannehill has led the Aggies in receptions the last two years, but their depth out wide has greatly improved over that time.  He's certain to get some snaps at receiver, but the coaches clearly value his worth as a backup QB and want to keep him out of harm's way, which at times will limit his playing time.

Texas A&M's Ryan Tannehill tells Fox Sports Southwest that he's again prepared to see some work at quarterback in addition to his regular duty at wide receiver, saying "this year will probably be the same as last year."

Tannehill is one of the most dynamic athletes in the country, one who can make plays in a variety of ways. He's a definite fantasy factor in Big 12 leagues, and one to monitor nationally.

Texas A&M's Ryan Tannehill led all passers with 73 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's Maroon & White game.

With Jerrod Johnson nursing his shoulder, Tannehill has mostly worked at quarterback this spring. However, we've been told Tannehill saw some work at receiver last week. We've made our opinion on this known in the past: Tannehill and the Aggies are best served with him at receiver. It should be noted that our sources tell us that quarterbacks Matt Joeckel (8-13, 39 yards) and Jameill Showers (7-7, 43 yards, 2 TDs) are picking up the offense, which could keep Tannehill at receiver anyway.

Texas A&M coach Mike Sherman still talks of Ryan Tannehill as his backup quarterback.  "You have to really appreciate and see Ryan practice to realize he is a quarterback," Sherman said. "He keeps making plays at receiver, from the outside looking in and even from my standpoint, and he's equally adept at both."

It is difficult for us to imagine Sherman not giving Tannehill, who has 8 receptions on the year, more reps at wide receiver now that Jeff Fuller is out.  But, we've been befuddled by this situation from the get-go.  In an earlier interview Sherman said Terrence McCoy, Brandal Jackson and Kenric McNeal will need to step up in Fuller's absence.  We assume Uzoma Nwachukwu is heavily in the mix as well.
