Arizona tight end Rob Gronkowski has decided to forgo his final two years of eligibility and enter the 2010 NFL Draft.  "I'm ready. It was a difficult decision but I believe I'm ready for the next challenge," Gronkowski said.

ESPN's Joe Schad is reporting that Arizona tight end Rob Gronkowski will announce his intentions to enter the 2010 NFL Draft on Friday, according to sources.

This doesn't come as a surprise. If he was coming back, he would not have held a press conference on the early entry deadline. Gronk's departure leaves the 2010 fantasy class looking very thin at tight end.

All signs are pointing towards Gronkowski passing on his final year of eligibility and entering the NFL Draft.

Arizona tight end Rob Gronkowski will meet with his back surgeon on Wednesday.  If he's given the all-clear, he will enter the 2010 NFL Draft.  "I'll most likely go into the draft if I can be 100 percent by (next month's NFL) combine," Gronkowski told the Arizona Star.

This seems like a forgone conclusion.  I don't think he would be flying out to California to receive final confirmation unless his back felt good.

Arizona tight end Rob Gronkowski is still undecided on whether or not he will enter the NFL draft.

The Gronk is expected to hear from the NFL Advisory Committee early next week, and we assume he will receive a favorable response, despite his recent back injury.  While we'd love for him to return, we simply don't see it happening.

The Arizona Daily Star reports the Arizona star tight end Rob Gronkowksi (back) is "50-50" on whether or not he'll declare for the NFL Draft, and that he'll likely only go pro if he's deemed a first-round draft pick.

Right now Gronkowski is able to walk and stand for long periods of time, but of course one needs to do a little more than that in order to play tackle football. The paper reports he'll be able to go in spring drills should he decide to remain a Wildcat.

"It would definitely have to be the first round, or else I won't go at all," Arizona tight end Rob Gronkowski said about leaving early and entering the NFL draft next spring.

Gronkowski has been recovering from back surgery and says he should be 100 percent in about three months.  The selfish college football fan in me hopes NFL scouts are scared away by the surgery and he projects in the late second round so there is not doubt on the matter.

Thursday saw Arizona tight end Rob Gronkowski undergo what has been deemed successful back surgery.

Coach Mike Stoops is unclear on Gronkowksi's long-term plans, though should he be able to regain full health in the next few months it's hard to see the Gronk passing up the NFL draft.

With the top two tight ends (Jermaine Gresham and Gronkowski) out, consistent tight end play has been hard to come by for fantasy owners

The Arizona Daily Star reports that an announcement from Arizona coach Mike Stoops regarding the status of tight end Rob Gronkowski (back) could be soon forthcoming. A few Arizona fan sites are reported that Gronk will redshirt.

A redshirt would be an interesting development for a player believed to have a very bright future at the next level. Clearly Gronkowski's back is not getting better, and this type of chatter implies that it's simply not a week-to-week thing anymore.

Gronkowski's unfortunate injury situation has taken one of the nation's most talented athletes out of the game, and left fantasy owners looking to fill a very large void.

Arizona tight end Rob Gronkowski (back) practiced in pads on Monday.  “(Having Gronkowski back) certainly opens up another aspect of our offense,” coach Mike Stoops said. “If we can get that injury under control then that opens up another dimension of our team.”

All signs point to Gronkowski playing this week.  With tight end points tough to come by, this is one position we don't mind starting an injury risk.  Play the Gronk this week unless you have another top tight end in your kitty.

As only one owner of Rob Gronkowksi, I've sent my share of cards and care packages. Is there an acupuncturist in the house?

ESPN.com's Ted Miller reports that Arizona tight end Rob Gronkowski (back) remains doubtful for this weekend's game with Northern Arizona. The Gronk missed Saturday's win over Central Michigan.

As Miller states, it's likely that the team will aim to get Gronkowski back for the trip to Iowa City to battle the Hawkeyes on September 19. For owners that invested a high pick on the stud tight end these missed games really hurt, though there's a whole lot of season remaining.
