The next in a line of early entries to the NFL Draft is LSU running back Stevan Ridley. Ridley has decided to forgo his senior season after rushing for 1,147 yards and 15 touchdowns.
Ridley was the centerpiece of the offense and while he was indispensable at times, there are plenty of backs like Spencer Ware and Michael Ford to pick up the slack. Thu, Jan 13, 2011 09:00:00 PM

LSU running back Stevan Ridley has been ruled eligible to play in the Cotton Bowl against Texas A&M.  Ridley was ruled ineligible earlier this month but a source close to the situation reports that his appeal has been granted.

If true, this is a huge break for the Tigers who have leaned on Ridley all season.

LSU running back Stevan Ridley has been ruled ineligible for the Cotton Bowl.  The issues appears to be academically related although Les Miles declined to be specific.

Ridley was basically the Tigers offense down the stretch and his loss is a big blow to LSU and fantasy owners in the bowl season.  Look for Michael Ford, Spencer Ware, and Richard Murphy to pick up the slack.

LSU tailback Stevan Ridley has been the Tigers' sole form of offense at times this season and looked like it against Arkansas.  Ridley finished the game with 17 carries for 75 yards and two touchdowns.

Ridley has been a workhorse this season and will be one to watch next year.

LSU running back Stevan Ridley could not be kept out of the endzone against Ole Miss as he carried the ball 18 times for 89 yards and three touchdowns in the win.

Ridley is the top fantasy option on the LSU offense as he is a grinder who seems to always produce.

LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson had another bad day passing but was able to rush for 100 yards and a touchdown on just five carries.  The Tigers had another 100-yard rusher in Stevan Ridley who took 22 carries for 123 yards and a touchdown.

Ridley is becoming a lock for 100+ yards and a touchdown every week, even against good defenses.

LSU has certainly found its feature back in Stevan Ridley as the bruiser rumbled for 125 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries against West Virginia.

Ridley is the team's top fantasy option and should be a nice RB3 for most leagues.

While the LSU offense as a whole has seen better days, there has not been as good of a rushing performance as was seen by Stevan Ridley  in quite some time.  Ridley got the start and went on to carry the ball 17 times for 159 yards and a touchdown.

Ridley appears to be in the process of locking down the starting job, but proceed with caution as Michael Ford still looms.

LSU tailback Stevan Ridley has been named the starter when the Tigers take on Vanderbilt this weekend.  Ridley performed well against North Carolina taking his 19 carries for 81 yards.

Ridley is the starter for now but keep an eye on the rising stock of Michael Ford.

LSU center Bobby "T-Bob" Hebert was arrested for allegedly driving while intoxicated early Saturday morning.

T-Bob is the son of former USFL and NFL quarterback Bobby Hebert (the Cajun Cannon) and is considered one of the top centers in the country. Coach Les Miles is expected to comment on the situation on Monday.

Running back Mike Ford rushed for 139 yards on 19 carries in LSU's spring game on Saturday.  Running back Stevan Ridley added 104 yards and a score on 13 carries.

Ridley is still the starter, but it is hard to ignore Ford, who has had a breakout spring.  Both should be heavily involved in the offense this fall.

“We’re going to run the football better,” LSU coach Les Miles said emphatically. “We’re going to run it with more attitude. … When we get pads on, it will be about rushing the football and stopping the run.”

With Charles Scott and Keiland Williams moving on, the Tigers will be looking for a new starter this spring.  The contenders are redshirt freshman Mike Ford, Stevan Ridley and Richard Murphy.

LSU sophomore fullback Stevan Ridley tore his ACL in practice, and he'll hopefully be back in September.

In the meantime former center Richard Dugas will see some snaps at fullback, though we may see a chain of events that actually end with Charles Scott seeing time at both fullback and running back.
