Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor completed 13 of 17 passes for 280 yards and three touchdowns against Duke.  He also ran for 47 yards.
Taylor is playing the best he ever has, and has my vote as ACC Player of the Year.  He'll enjoy a week off before Georgia Tech comes to town next Thursday, and his outstanding season shows no signs of slowing down. Sun, Oct 24, 2010 12:15:00 PM

Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor tweaked his right wrist along with suffering a few other bumps and bruises against Wake Forest last week, but is expected to be just fine for Duke on Saturday. "He's sore, but he's healthy," coach Frank Beamer said.

It will be interesting to see if Tech decides to run Taylor less with the likely return of running back Ryan Williams. Let's be honest, they are playing Duke, onne of the worst defenses in the country. Don't over think this one and just play Taylor.

Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns against Wake Forest.

Taylor added 31 yards on the ground and another touchdown.  He's up to 15 scores on the year, and is a great option against Duke next week.  It's beyond time to believe, Taylor my be the second best QB in the ACC behind N.C. State's Russell Wilson.

Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor threw for 161 yards and a touchdown, and rushed for 127 yards and two more scores against Central Michigan.

That's back-to-back 100 yard rushing efforts for the QB, which is providing tremendous value for owners.  There aren't many better options in the ACC next week than Taylor against Wake Forest.

Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor had 123 yards passing and three touchdowns while also rushing for 121 yards against N.C. State.

Those are numbers we expected to see out of Taylor this season, and you have to love his chances to post a similar line against Central Michigan next time out.

Virginia Tech lost at home to James Madison University.  Do we need offensive highlights?  Tyrod Taylor "led" the way with 124 yards passing and 86 yards rushing, while throwing for a score and an interception.

Ryan Williams had 91 yards on 20 carries, but failed to score while Darren Evans had a costly fumble late to go with 27 yards on seven carries. It was raining, but the Hokies scored more against Miami in the rain last year than they did today against the Dukes.  Pathetic.  The 0-2 Hokies take on the pass happy ECU Pirates next weekend.

Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor was darn near perfect in the team's final scrimmage, completing 16-of-17 passes for 319 yards and three scores.

Granted, these numbers came at the expense of the second-team defense. However he could have been winging it against the chess team and the stats would still be impressive. Taylor appears ready for the season, beginning with the Labor Day tilt against Boise State.

While the Virginia Tech defense breaks in a whole bunch of young starters, the offense is loaded and ready to shoulder the weight. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor tells The Roanoke Times, "The offense is going to have to really step up, play at a high level, especially early."

In Taylor, running backs Ryan Williams and Darren Evans, and an experienced receiving corps, the Hokies are indeed loaded offensively. And an opening week test against Boise State will let us know exactly how explosive this unit can be.

Implying that Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor's running was limited as a precaution in 2009, head coach Frank Beamer appears set to take the training wheels off this year, stating "we're much better equipped for our backup quarterback this year than we were last year at this time."

Hokie fans must love knowing last years excuse for being conservative was the fear of injury.  Taylor rushed for 738 yards two seasons ago, but only 370 last year.  There are only so many balls to go around in Blacksburg, but if Taylor can flirt with 500 yards on the ground, bump him up a little in your rankings.  He still is just a bye week fill in in BCS leagues however.

Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor set a career-high mark accounting for three passing scores to go along with his 268 yard day through the air. Taylor also rushed for 81 yards.

Taylor's production is still too streaky to be an every week starter on your fantasy team, but in the right matchup he's clearly capable of monster fantasy days.

Virginia Tech's junior quarterback Tyrod Taylor set a career high passing mark with 327 yards and two touchdowns to help the Hokies avoid a loss to Duke.

This was certainly a change for fantasy owners of Taylor, who are normally accustomed to him using his feet to get things done. If Taylor can develop as a passer as well, he will be a dangerous fantasy option.

In his third season as the Hokies quarterback, Tyrod Taylor looks to vastly improve his numbers.  "It takes about two years for a guy to be ready to play at a high level," quarterbacks coach Mike O'Cain "Prior to the last two or three games last year, I felt like Tyrod was a heckuva athlete playing quarterback. He wasn't a college quarterback yet. He is now a quarterback. He understands the whole picture. He's the whole package. He's ready to go."

With Sean Glennon out of the way, the starting job belongs solely to Taylor.  Look for a sharp uptick in his production.

Virginia Tech's talented, multi-dimensional freshman Logan Thomas will begin his career as a quarterback, and he's currently 3rd team behind Tyrod Taylor and Ju-Ju Clayton.

The 6'6" prospect has impressed coaches and he's definitely a potential college fantasy football star.  Still he sounds like an ideal candidate for a redshirt.

Virginia Tech quarterback Tyrod Taylor passed for 188 yards and a touchdown for the losing White team in the spring scrimmage Saturday. Taylor nearly won the contest for his team on a last second scramble, but was touched down at the two yard line on the final play of the game.

This young dual-threat quarterback has been steadily improving his game and has the potential of being a high-quality player if he can continue improve his decision making abilities.
