Purdue QB Robert Marve reportedly "displayed a great arm during position drills" at the school's Pro Day.
Gil Brandt believes this is "a performance that could earn the quarterback a longer look from NFL teams as a potential rookie free-agent pickup." He also recorded a 4.78 forty yard dash, all with a damaged ACL in his left knee. Mon, Mar 4, 2013 01:53:00 PM

Purdue senior QB Robert Marve will start Saturday against Penn State.

Marve played efficiently in backup duty last weekend against Minnesota, but the driving force in the change is likely the four game losing streak Purdue is currently on. The senior has apparently recovered from a damaged ACL in his left knee, the same ligament he has torn on two prior occasions.

Purdue head coach Danny Hope said that there is "a chance" that senior QB Robert Marve plays this week against Michigan.

Marve was sideline in the early part of September with a damaged ACL in his left knee, the same ligament he had torn twice before, but the injury does not appear as once believed. Caleb TerBush was suspended for the opener, and Marve started in his place, but TerBush took over the top spot soon after. Both could see snaps in the near future.

AN MRI revealed that Purdue senior QB Robert Marve has a damaged ACL in his left knee, the same ligament he has torn twice.

The full extent of the injury is not known at this time. Marve started the first game of the season after Caleb TerBush was suspended for the opener and showed well, but the senior's second appearance against Notre Dame did not go as well.

Purdue quarterback Robert Marve could take the field for the first time in almost one year Saturday against Southeast Missouri State.

Marve went down with a torn ACL last Sept. 25 against Toledo and is now cleared to play. The Boilermakers have had their issues at quarterback, since this will be a welcome addition. Of course, how many playing time coach Danny Hope gives him is up in the air. Marve, a Miami transfer who was mentioned in the off-season scandal and cleared by the NCAA, is listed behind Caleb TerBush.

The former Miami quarterback was implicated, but there are no issues regarding his eligibility at Purdue.

Marve, who transferred to Purdue from Miami after losing his battle with Jacory Harris for the Hurricanes’ starting QB job two years ago, has been given the all-clear with respect to his eligibility with the Boilermakers. The Yahoo report concerning the Miami scandal indicated Marve received improper benefits. The senior played four games last season before tearing his left ACL and giving way to sophomore Rob Henry, who is currently atop the depth chart.

Purdue quarterback Robert Marve will miss the rest of the season with a torn ACL in his left knee.

Rob Henry will likely replace Marve as the starter when the Boilermakers take on Northwestern on Oct. 9.

Purdue quarterback Robert Marve had a MRI on his injured left knee on Monday, but the coaching staff has yet to release the results.

It didn't look good for Marve, so don't expect any miracles when the coaching staff does decide to release the results.

Purdue quarterback Robert Marve suffered an apparent knee injury in the first quarter of the loss to Toledo, and coach Danny Hope doesn't sound too optimistic about what the medical people will tell him.

A long-term injury to Marve would continue the string of horrible Boiler luck. Purdue has already lost running back Ralph Bolden and wide receiver Keith Smith for the season. Can they start this thing over?

Purdue quarterback Robert Marve (knee) says he'll be fine for this Saturday's game against Toledo.

Marve has played well, but still is only an option in Big Ten-only leagues.

Purdue quarterback Robert Marve suffered a leg injury in the first half of Purdue's win over Ball State.  Marve finished with 111 yards passing and two touchdowns

Marve came back out to start the second half, but then departed for good.  With Keith Smith and Ralph Bolden already done for the year, Purdue can not afford to lose Marve.  We should have more on Marve's injury as the week moves on.

Purdue quarterback Robert Marve will be the starter heading into spring camp, according to head coach Danny Hope.

The former Hurricane had been battling for the starting job with Caleb TerBush, but ultimately Marve's experience has won out.  We currently have him as the 51st-ranked QB, but with solid receivers like Keith Smith, he could outproduce that ranking.

Miami transfer Robert Marve had a decent spring game for Purdue as he threw 11-of-22 for 160 yards and a 75-yard touchdown completion.  Marve impressed more than his numbers show as he dealt with inconsistent pass protection and was rolling out on most of his throws.

Marve is expected to pilot the normally potent passing attack at Purdue and is worth a later pick in most drafts.

"They all have room to improve but right now Robert (Marve) is a little bit further ahead from an accuracy standpoint, an experience standpoint and a confidence standpoint," Purdue coach Danny Hope said about his quarterback.

Caleb TerBush and Rob Henry are battling Marve for the starting gig, but we'd be surprised if Marve doesn't win the job.

Purdue running back Ralph Bolden and Offensive Coordinator Gary Nord has been very impressed with Miami transfer Robert Marve as of late.

At the helm of the Boilermakers' offense, Marve should be primed for a breakout season.
