Wake Forest wide receiver Devon Brown caught ten passes for 59 yards and a touchdown against Navy.
A pathetic yards per catch, but Brown owners have to be thrilled.  It was his first touchdown grab of the season, and he came in with just 13 catches on the season.  His disappearance from the rushing attack is troubling, and Brown doesn't figure to get loose next week in Blacksburg.  Still, he has too much potential to be dropped in ACC leagues. Wake Forest wide receiver Devon Brown caught just one ball for nine yards, but had two carries for 91 yards and a touchdown in Wake Forest's romp over Presbyterian.

Brown also returned the opening kickoff for a score, only to have it called back on a penalty.  He's healthy, and is Wake's top play maker - no questions asked.

An MRI revealed no damage to Wake Forest wide receiver Devon Brown's MCL.  The injury is being classified as a bruise, and while Brown will probably miss some practices early next week, there is no reason to think he'll sit out the Deacs opener against Presbyterian.

A huge sigh of relief can be heard coming from Winston-Salem, and Brown owners, as he is the most dynamic player on an offense that simply can't be without its star(s).  In related news, head coach Jim Grobe still has the clubhouse lead for quote of the year.

Wake Forest wide receiver Devon Brown had to be helped off the field after injuring his MCL during Thursday's scrimmage.

Head coach Jim Grobe doesn't seem too concerned, stating "I told him that's one you don't even need, I don't know what the big deal is."  Grobe obviously isn't serious, and the Deacons can't afford to lose their top playmaker for any stretch of time.

Wake Forest wide receiver Devon Brown carried four times for 81 yards, including a 65-yard scamper for a touchdown in the Demon Deacons' spring game. He also caught four balls for 21 yards.

Brown is a versatile playmaker and head coach Jim Grobe will find ways to get him the ball this season.  He may be immune to the Deacons changeover under center, and will make a sneaky WR3/WR4 play this season.

Sophomore wide receiver Devon Brown, who had only five rushing attempts in 2008, has carried the ball eight times for the Demon Deacons for the second consecutive week.  Brown rushed eight times for 47 yards and caught four passes for 58 yards.

With carries being shared in the Wake Forest backfield more than crayons in a kindergarten class, it's nice to see Brown's consistency in getting the rock behind this experienced line. Lump Devon Brown in the Brandon Banks, Kendall Wright, Dexter McCluster category of receivers getting significant carries, and find some room for him on your roster for next week’s sneaky play against Elon.

Wake Forest coach Jim Grobe told Dan Collins of The Winston-Salem Journal that wide receiver Devon Brown has emerged the leader of the wide receivers this spring.

Wake has seen turnover out wide, and there are receptions to be had. No, the Deacons will never be confused with a pass-first attack, but look for Grobe to show more confidence in returning quarterback Riley Skinner and he's also never been shy on giving his receivers carries.
