Wake Forest quarterback Skylar Jones led three quarterbacks who saw action for the Deacs with 105 yards passing, and 31 yards rushing.
Tanner Price (concussion) sat this one out, and Jones saw the bulk of the snaps in his absence, as Brendan Cross and Ted Stachitas combined to go just one of three.  It's anyone's guess who starts next week against Navy, and no one should be considering any of these four as the revolving door under center figures to continue. Despite exiting spring practice atop the depth chart, Wake Forest quarterback Skylar Jones doesn't appear locked in to the starting slot.  Said head coach Jim Grobe "What we try to be is fair. That means you treat them no different than any other positions. All of our other position groups have to earn their jobs and I don't think the quarterback should be any different."

Ted Stachitas and Brendan Cross will be given every opportunity to win the gig.  Grobe doesn't appear afraid to play more than one guy while hoping to set on a starter ten days before Wake's opener against Presbyterian.  Translation - more reason to move Josh Adams up in your rankings.

Wake Forest quarterback Skylar Jones went 4-of-5 for 38 yards while carrying seven times for 21 yards in the school's spring tilt Saturday.

While the other quarterbacks (Brendan Cross, Ted Stachitas) performed similarly, head coach Jim Grobe appears ready to roll with Jones.  Said Grobe, "Sky has a leg up just from durability. He went every day and didn't miss anything. But you can see that Brendan and Ted both have ability. They do some things really well.  We've got talent at quarterback. I think the guy who takes the first snap against Presbyterian (in the season opener) first of all will be the most durable guy, but I think also he's going to be the guy that develops the most consistency."  Translation - Sky is the guy.

Wake Forest quarterback Skylar Jones has emerged as the team's #1 quarterback, and from the report, it sounds likes he's well ahead of fellow Demon Deacon Ted Stachitas.

Jones will present blow-up potential, though it's hard to envision the inexperienced signal caller emerging as a regular fantasy threat in Winston-Salem.
