According to USC coach Lane Kiffin, running back Marc Tyler "doesn’t look good" for Saturday’s game against Colorado.

Tyler did not last long in last week’s thriller against Stanford. The senior exited after a three-yard run on the Trojans’ first play from scrimmage. He aggravated a shoulder he incurred at Cal on Oct. 13.

Running back Marc Tyler left the game with an apparent injury during the first half of USC's game against Stanford.

Tyler injured himself on the Trojans' first play from scrimmage, heading back to the locker room after a 3-yard gain. Tyler has been battling a dislocated shoulder, though he did play last week against Notre Dame.

Marc Tyler (shoulder) fully expects to play against Notre Dame on Saturday.

"I don’t know how it healed so fast or if it healed, but it feels good," Tyler said. "I feel I can play. It doesn’t really hurt." The USC coaching staff has yet to back Tyler's optimism yet, with head coach Lane Kiffin only saying they'll "take it one day at a time." The senior, who leads the team in rushing, is itching to play in South Bend this weekend, so look for him to do everything in his power to be on the field.

USC senior running back Marc Tyler separated his shoulder in the second half of Thursday night's 30-9 win over Cal.

The unfortunate irony for Lane Kiffin and the Trojans, is the coach attempted to shake up a middling running game against Cal by mixing in different personnel. There was little happening behind Tyler on the depth chart prior to the Cal game. Now, things better happen becasue Tyler (338 yards) is out for what could be more than a couple games. With Tyler out, USC fans got a look at the immediate future: Curtis McNeal carried the load (game-high 86 yards) and freshman George Farmer got his first few career carries.

USC running back Marc Tyler, suspended for the opener, will be back with the Trojans for Saturday’s game against Utah.

The Trojans running game didn’t exactly light it up against Minnesota. In fact, it was a rather unbalanced offense with 45/28 play calling in favor of the pass. Tyler’s return will help. Redshirt freshman D.J. Morgan had 70 yards on 18 carries against the Golden Gophers and is listed atop the depth chart. Don’t overlook the experience he gained in the opener as coach Lane Kiffin needs some ball carriers behind Tyler.

USC running back Marc Tyler returned to practice Wednesday, but he remains suspended indefinitely.

The Trojans’ leading returning rusher (913 yards with 9 TDs) will miss the Sept. 3 opener at home against Minnesota and has yet to be cleared beyond that date. The son of former UCLA and NFL star Wendell Tyler will continue to practice with the team. Coach Lane Kiffin has yet to name a starter for opener. Of those receiving consideration, sophomore Dillon Baxter is the most experienced having toted the ball 59 times last season.

During the Trojans' practice on Tuesday, USC running back Marc Tyler came up lame due to a pulled hamstring. Head coach Lane Kiffin says "He just pulled his hamstring. We don't know how severe it is yet."

If Tyler is lost, it will sorely hurt the ground game as he is the top returning rusher and the only back on the depth chart with any size.

USC running back Marc Tyler says he will return for his senior year. "I'm coming back," Tyler said. "I just want to have that senior year and get the final experience of college." However, offensive tackle Tyron Smith and defensive tackle Jurrell Casey are expected to declare for the 2011 NFL Draft, according to Bruce Feldman.

Tyler led the Trojans in rushing with 913 yards. But injuries and a logjam of running backs kept him from being a consistent producer. With Allen Bradford and C.J. Gable graduating, Tyler should see a more consistent workload in 2011. Even with speedster Dillon Baxter in the mix.

USC running back Marc Tyler was limited with an ankle injury and had only eight carries for 45 yards in the win over UCLA.

Tyler was noticeably limping after a couple carries and wasn't needed in a bigger role with Allen Bradford shredding the Bruin defense.  He finished the season with 913 rushing yards, 127 receiving yards, and 10 touchdowns.  He should be the lead back next season for the Trojans.

USC running back Marc Tyler (ankle) will start at running back against Notre Dame on Saturday.

Tyler has been a little beat up the last couple of weeks, but barring a setback, he should carry the load against the Irish.

USC running back Marc Tyler did not play in the second half of the loss at Oregon State after respraining his left ankle.  He finished with 11 carries for 34 yards.

With the Trojans without Tyler and Dillon Baxter, they turned to C.J. Gable in the second half.  Gable looked good carrying the ball 10 times for 57 yards and a touchdown.  If Tyler is unable to play against Notre Dame this weekend, it is going to be hard to predict just who will have the most value in the backfield.

USC running back Marc Tyler will start Saturday at Oregon State and Lane Kiffin claimed "It's his job to lose."

Well it only took Kiffin 10 games to name a starter at running back.  It looks like he will stick with Tyler the rest of the season with Allen Bradford in the doghouse because of fumbles.  Tyler should be owned in all dynasty leagues as he looks like the starter next year as well.

USC running back Marc Tyler was limited in practice Tuesday as he tries to recover from the pounding he took while carrying the ball 31 times in the win over Arizona.

Tyler is still dealing with ankle soreness and actually had to come out of the game in the second half briefly.  He should be fine and has a good matchup against an Oregon State run defense that is giving up 169 yards on the ground.

USC running back Marc Tyler set career-highs with 31 carries and 160 rushing yards and one touchdown in the win at Arizona.  It was his third 100 yard game of the season.

His previous career high in carries was 18 so it was nice to see him hold up even with a bum ankle. Tyler has some great matchups down the stretch and should easily top 1,000 yards if he stays healthy.  He has 786 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on the season.
