It’s been a record-breaking season for Iowa receiver Marvin McNutt, who could still set more school marks.
On Saturday against Purdue, McNutt had two touchdown catches giving him a school-record 12 on the season. That accomplishment added to the records he had already set this season. McNutt added to the team's all-time receiving TDs record, a mark he set last week against Indiana. It is McNutt's fifth 100-yard game of the year, and he has found the end zone in each of his last three games. The senior has 858 yards and 9 touchdowns for the Hawkeyes this season.

McNutt's three TDs gave him 24 for his career, surpassing both Tim Dwight and Danan Hughes who had 21 all-time. McNutt added a career high 184 yards on 6 catches in the team's romp over Indiana.

McNutt could not win the quarterback job at Iowa, so he decided to be on the receiving end of those who did. And what a career he has had. With 20 TD receptions, the senior needs one to tie the school's all-time mark. McNutt is 25-413-4 on the season.

Marvin McNutt is making a push to start at wide receiver over Derrell Johnson-Koulianos. "Competition is open at every position," offensive coordinator Ken O?Keefe said. "Marvin?s really had a good spring."

Add this position battle as another reason not to draft an Iowa wide receiver.
