UNLV has 25 players on their injury report this week, including quarterback Omar Clayton (undisclosed).

Caleb Herring will get the start if Clayton is unable to go, but this looks like a good opportunity to play the Mountaineer defense.

UNLV quarterback Omar Clayton (bruised knee) practiced this week, but his status for this Saturday's game against Hawaii is unclear.  The good news is Clayton's MRI came up negative.

I wouldn't count on Omar playing this week, but it doesn't sound like he will be out long.  Expect Mike Clausen to get the start.

According to UNLV coach Mike Sanford, quarterback Omar Clayton's knee is about "90 percent". Clayton missed the last three games of the 2008 season because of a torn medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

Clayton's level of participation this spring is yet to be determined. Sanford knows he can't push his star quarterback's recovery just to get some work in this spring. Clayton is a solid candidate to emerge as a top quarterback this fall.
