Cal running back Shane Vereen will consult with coach Jeff Tedford and the NFL player evaluation committee to determine whether or not he will enter the 2011 NFL Draft. "I'm kind of waiting for the season to be over to even think about that," Vereen said. "The most important thing to me right now is getting to a bowl game."

One thing the Mercury News points out is that Vereen has already received his degree, potentially making it easier for him to leave school early.

Cal running back Shane Vereen had 15 carries for 63 yards in the loss to Stanford.  He added three catches for 24 yards.

Vereen is second in the Pac 10 in rushing yards (1,061) and touchdowns (16).  Fantasy have to love the production but they probably expected better rushing totals.  The good news is that the Bears are facing a must-win in the finale against Washington which could be fantasy nirvana for Vereen.

Cal running back Shane Vereen had 26 carries for 112 yards and a touchdown in the loss to Oregon.  He added one catch for 10 yards.  It was his fifth 100 yard game of the season.

Vereen tried to will his team to a victory but the rest of the offense didn't cooperate.  The Bears only had 193 yards of total offense and Vereen accounted for 122 of those.  He now has 998 rushing yards and 16 touchdowns on the season.

Cal running back Shane Vereen had 25 carries for 112 yards and two touchdowns in the win at Washington State.  It was his fourth 100 yard game of the season.

More was probably expected from Vereen but the production isn't that bad considering quarterback Brock Mansion was making his first start of the season.  Expect the Bears to keep pounding away with the run down the stretch with an inexperienced quarterback under center.  Vereen is now up to 886 rushing yards, 179 receiving yards, and 15 total touchdowns.

Cal running back Shane Vereen tied his season-low with 53 rushing yards in the loss at Oregon State.  He had only 12 carries and didn't record a catch for the first time in 34 games.

Vereen had his worst game of the season which can probably be blamed on the score (28-0 at halftime) and the loss of starting quarterback Kevin Riley in the first quarter.  He might have a tough time the rest of the season if Riley is out, but he has a great matchup next weekend against Washington State.

Cal running back Shane Vereen had 19 carries for 92 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Arizona State.  He added two catches for eight yards.

Vereen just keeps finding the endzone.  He now has 894 yards from scrimmage and 13 touchdowns (10 rushing and three receiving) in seven games.  He has also caught a pass in 33 straight games.  He is a beast.

Cal running back Shane Vereen had his "bell rung" against USC last Saturday, but did not suffer a concussion. "I took a couple hits, nothing too serious," Vereen said.

Vereen had a rough go against the Trojans, finishing with just 53 yards rushing and no scores. He'll look to rebound this week against Arizona State.

Cal running back Shane Vereen finished with 10 carries for 53 yards in the loss at USC.  Both were season lows but he did add three catches for 45 yards and a touchdown to avoid a complete fantasy disaster.

The Golden Bears were down 42-0 at halftime and had three first downs.  Needless to say, that won't lead to good running stats in the second half for any back.  Vereen's ability to contribute in the passing game when the ground attack stalls still makes him a RB1 in BCS only leagues.

Cal running back Shane Vereen had a season-high 27 carries for 102 yards in the loss at Arizona.  It was his second straight game over the century mark.

Fantasy owners have to love the touches and yardage but it was the first time all season he was held out of the end zone.  With tonight's effort he went over the 2,000-yard mark in career rushing yards.  Even with the passing game stalling he is still a RB1 going forward.

Cal running back Shane Vereen ran for 198 yards and three touchdowns in the loss to Nevada.

After two subpar rushing yardage games, owners have to be thrilled with the huge total tonight.  He ripped off two long scoring runs (59 and 50 yards) and now has eight touchdowns in the first three games of the season.

Cal running back Shane Vereen reached paydirt two more times today in the win over Colorado.  He only managed 60 yards rushing on 16 carries but his owners have to be happy with his ability to score six.

While owners have to love the five touchdowns he has posted in two weeks, they should be a little concerned with the rushing yards.  He now has only 127 yards rushing on 30 carries in the young season.  Hopefully he can top the century mark next week against Nevada.

Cal running back Shane Vereen scored three touchdowns in the win over UC Davis.  He had 14 carries for 67 yards and two catches for 28 yards.

The yardage might not excite people but the touchdowns will make his owners happy.  He had been dealing with a hamstring injury so some owners went in other direction today.  Congrats to those who kept him stud tailback in their lineups.

Cal running back Shane Vereen (hamstring) says he is 100% healthy, though coach Jeff Tedford isn't so sure. The boss told The San Jose Mercury News that his senior isn't quite at "game speed" but should be the opener next Saturday.

A tender hamstring and a weak opponent (Cal Davis) in Week One actually make Vereen somewhat of a risky start in the opener.

Cal RB Shane Vereen returned to the practice field yesterday.  He didn't put on the pads or get hit but it was nice to see him out there with the first team offense.

He has been held out of practices up until this point with a hamstring strain but should be 100% heading into the opener.  It looks like he could take his first live hits during Saturday's practice.  Feel free to draft him as high as the first round as he projects to be a big time fantasy player this year.
