Penn State receiver Derek Moye (foot) will remain out of the lineup against Illinois on Saturday.
Moye will miss his third straight game. Penn State has a bye next week before hosting Nebraska on Nov. 12 when Moye could be back in the lineup. It would be a good time to return as the date with the Cornhuskers starts a three-game stretch in which the Nits are also at Ohio State and at Wisconsin to finish the regular season. Penn State coach Joe Paterno said Derek Moye’s foot injury will keep the receiver out for two more games.

That being the case, Moye will miss this week at Northwestern, which was expected, and also next week against Illinois in Happy Valley. In his absence last week against visiting Purdue, Justin Brown led the way with 4-86. Moye leads the team in catches (28), receiving yards (485) and has 3 of the team's 6 TD receptions.

Penn State receiver Derek Moye broke a bone in his left foot and will miss at least the next two games.

As we mentioned Wednesday night in this space, any absence by Moye could spell disaster for the PSU offense, which continues to struggle mightily. Justin Brown, speedy Devon Smith and Shawney Kersey will attempt to pick up the slack.

According to a report, Penn State receiver Derek Moye injured his foot in an off-field mishap and is questionable for Purdue on Saturday.

As if the Nittany Lions are not struggling enough offensively, the loss of their top receiver for any period of time would be difficult to overcome. The senior leads the team across the board with 28-485-3 and has the size (6-5) and strength to fight off DBs, something that is lacking among other receivers.

Penn State WR Derek Moye recorded seven catches for 112 yards in Penn State's 14-10 win over Temple.

The Nittany Lions narrowly escaped an upset by converting on fourth and short in the redzone with under three minutes remaining. Named to the preseason Biletnikoff watchlist, Moye has been the lone bright spot in an offense that ranks last in the Big Ten in passing. At 6-5/202 he's a legitimate NFL prospect.

Moye has scored in each of his last four games, and it's no coincidence that Matt McGloin has been the starting quarterback in all of them.

Penn State wide receiver Derek Moye caught six passes for 90 yards and a touchdown while adding another 39 yards on the ground against Indiana on Saturday.

Moye is poised to be one of the top receivers in the Big Ten in 2011 if Penn State gets consistency out of the quarterback position.

Penn State wide receiver Derek Moye caught three passes for 81 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Minnesota on Saturday.

Over the past two games, Moye has 187 yards receiving with three touchdowns.  When Robert Bolden went down to injury, Matthew McGloin hit Moye for two touchdowns.   Moye could be a decent fill in at wide receiver if your team is in need.

The York Dispatch reports that Penn State wide receiver Derek Moye enters the season with high expectations. Quarterback Kevin Newsome says the 6'5" junior "has a chance to be something special."

Coming off a 48-705-6 season there is no doubt that Moye is the go-to WR in Happy Valley, however the uncertainty at the quarterback spot has definitely caused Moye's preseason fantasy stock to drop a bit.

Receivers Derek Moye and Graham Zug are firmly entrenched as two of Penn State's starters. But a third spot is open for Devon Smith, Justin Brown and Curtis Drake to fight over.

Unlike last year, there is more stability at the receiver position with Moye and Zug the clear go-to guys.  Both are considerations in Big Ten-only leagues and should also help whichever young quarterback wins the job at Penn State.
