Texas Tech senior QB Seth Doege completed 31-of-45 attempts for 271 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions against Minnesota.
Doege made a couple of questionable throws after his first read was covered, but we like the way he buys time with his feet to hit open receivers. He has a shot to be drafted, likely in the sixth- or seventh-round, and a solid week of practice for the East-West Shrine Game will only help that. Sat, Dec 29, 2012 10:28:00 AM

Texas Tech senior QB Seth Doege plans on attending the East-West Shrine Game.

Doege's accuracy alone may land him on an NFL roster, and he does well to understand his physical limitations and work around them. The Red Raider could really help himself by taking chances vertically downfield in practice.

Texas Tech senior QB Seth Doege completed 30-of-42 attempts for 318 yards and seven touchdowns Saturday against TCU.

The game went into triple overtime, but Doege was impressive throughout. Keep in mind, many of his throws were predetermined reads prior to the snap, but the senior put the ball on point with touch and allowed his receiver to make a play at the catch point. We like how Doege has started to play within himself and he should have a chance to prove his talent in a post season all star game.

Texas Tech senior QB Seth Doege completed 32-of-42 attempts for 499 yards, along with six touchdowns, in Saturday's game against West Virginia.

As good as the Mountaineer offense can be, the defense has been consistently terrible. Doege is a solid college quarterback, but he isn't this good. Still, he was able to find open receivers and put the ball in a place where their momentum was not slowed.

Texas Tech senior QB Seth Doege admits he was too hard on himself at times last year and has tried to build a short-term memory this offseason.

According to Doege he was never uncomfortable last season, but when a mistake was made he compounded it by dwelling on the last play, which resulted in more mistakes. The Red Raider hopes to join the ranks of Graham Harrell and Kliff Kingsbury as notably accurate quarterbacks. Doege completed 68.5 percent of his passes last season, for 4,004 yards including 28 touchdowns and ten interceptions. After earning the starting role somewhat quietly last summer, Doege certainly comes into this season with higher expectations surrounding him.

Texas Tech’s Seth Doege completed 41 passes for 355 yards and 3 TDs in a 66-42 loss to Baylor.

With the Red Raiders allowing 256 points during their season-ending five-game losing streak, not even Doege could throw for enough yards. He was 41-of-55 for 355 yards and 3/2. One of his picks was returned by Baylor’s Joe Williams 90 yards for a score. Doege finished the season with 3,999 yards and 28/10.

Texas Tech quarterback Seth Doege threw for 381 yards with 2 touchdowns in a loss to Texas on Saturday.

Doege returned to having his usual big passing game, bouncing back after a 171 yard, 2 INT performance last week against Iowa State. The junior went 40-for-55 and threw for TDs of 8 and 1 yards, and has thrown for over 300+ yards in 5 out of his last 6. Doege now has 24 touchdowns to only 6 interceptions for the Red Raiders this season.

Texas Tech quarterback Seth Doege threw for 441 yards and 4 touchdowns to lead the Red Raiders in a 41-38 upset win at Oklahoma.

Doege was 33-of-52 and, for the fifth time in seven games this season, he did not throw an interception. The effort marked Doege’s third 400-yard outing of the season. He has thrown at least three TD passes in six games and the junior has 22 on the year.

Texas Tech quarterback Seth Doege threw for 460 yards, but was picked 3 times in a 41-34 loss to visiting Kansas State.

Doege had only one pick coming in, but Kansas State spoiled that big time with three. The 400-yard game was Doege’s second of the season, upping his yardage total to 2,166. The junior threw a season-low 1 TD pass, giving him 18 in six games.

Seth Doege completed 29-of-46 (63%) passing for 366 yards and three touchdowns in Texas Tech's 45-34 win over Kansas.

More of the same from Doege, who chalked his third 300-plus yard game this season. His 161 passing attempts rank only second to Oklahoma State's Brandon Weeden in the Big 12, and his 14:1 TD-to-INT ratio is among the best at the position. Doege had thrown 122 passes without an interception prior to being picked off by safety Keeston Terry on the team's third possession of the first quarter.

Texas Tech QB Seth Doege opened Saturday's game with 15 consecutive completions, tying the team's previous record set by Taylor Potts.

Neal Brown has proven to be one of the brightest minds in college football, seeing his offense finish fourth in the Big 12 in total offense (460.2 yards per game) and scoring (33.1 PPG) in 2010. Despite his limited skill-set we like Doege to produce as a viable starter in Texas Tech's offensive system. It's not unreasonable to think he'll outperform Potts' 2010 numbers.

Texas Tech coach Tommy Tuberville says Doege is the starting quarterback, though the junior is not playing along.

Doege, a West Texas product, was the favorite coming out of spring practice and he has done nothing to change the mind of coach Tommy Tuberville. Saying he has not been informed of the starting role, the junior continues to go about improving his stock in practice. Doege, who is in his fourth year with the Red Raiders, has 65 career pass attempts.

Texas Tech quarterback Seth Doege has already started to separate from the pack after just the first scrimmage for the Red Raiders.  Doege completed 17-of-26 passes for 246 yards and three touchdowns.  As if that was not enough, head coach Tommy Tuberville purposely put Doege against the wind just to see how he handled it.

Doege seems like the best bet to start for the Red Raiders and although they will not be the same team they were under Mike Leach, you can still pencil Doege in for a good year.

Texas Tech offensive coordinator Neal Brown says that Seth Doege has a 'slight edge' on the competition to replace Taylor Potts at quarterback.  However, head coach Tommy Tuberville said that that edge could disappear if some of the younger competitors started to show more.

So in a nutshell, Doege has the most experience but by no means is going to be handed the reigns to the job without creating some separation in spring ball.

The Lubbock Avalanche-Journal says that Seth Doege will start at quarterback for Texas Tech on Saturday.

This has been speculated all week, but it looks like you can now start Doege with some confidence.
