Cincinnati's Isaiah Pead added punt returns to his resume against Syracuse.
After a listless loss at Rutgers, coach Butch Jones needed to invigorate the troops and part of that was to have Pead return punts. He had a pair of PRs for 54 yards -- of his 246 total -- in last week's win over Syracuse. Pead and UC still have a shot at a BCS bowl. Tue, Nov 29, 2011 10:20:00 AM

Cincinnati running back Isaiah Pead totaled 246 yards and 2 touchdowns in a 30-13 win at Syracuse.

Pead was 17-80-1 rushing and 9-112-1 receiving, with the score coming on a screen he turned into a 69-yard gallop to the end zone. Pead also returned the first two punts of his career for 54 yards. With his 80 rushing yards, the senior went over 1,000 yards on the season and 3,000 for his career.

Isaiah Pead needs 66 yards to do something no Cincinnati running back has done in 25 years: log consecutive 1,000-yard seasons.

With quarterback Zach Collaros out with an injury, Pead could be especially busy on Saturday at Rutgers in a critical Big East battle. Pead, who ran for 1,029 yards last season, is averaging 6.0 ypc and has 10 rushing TDs. Reggie Taylor was the last Bearcat to post consecutive 1,000-yard season when he did it 1984-86.

Cincinnati running back Isaiah Pead ran for 151 yards and one TD in a 25-16 win over Louisville.

Pead picked up his 150 yards on 20 carries, increasing his season’s ypc to an eye-opening 6.8. He has also scored at least one TD in all six games. Pead had 167 yards rushing against North Carolina State on Sept. 24 and 155 (only 14 carries) at Tennessee on Sept. 10.

Cincinnati running back Isaiah Pead ran for 167 yards in the Bearcats' 44-14 win over visiting North Carolina State on Thursday night.

This must have felt good. After a knee injury kept Pead out of last season's game against the Wolfpack, which was a 30-19 loss, he broke loose on Thursday night at home. He was 27-167-1 running the ball and added 3-24-1 receiving. It was the senior's seventh 100-yard rushing game of his career.

Pead may not have found the end zone, but his big yardage numbers must have made fantasy owners happy. He's bound to score a few touchdowns as long as he's healthy.

Cincinnati running back Isaiah Pead has been saddled with a knee injury the last two weeks, but he tells The Cincinnati Enquirer that he's set to play against Oklahoma this weekend.

Great news that Pead and coach Butch Jones expect him back, however it may be a bumpy road against a Sooner defense. He, along with every other Bearcat, is a risky start.

Depending on the source, Pead was either questionable or probable leading up to the game. None of that matters, however, as he doesn't appear to be playing.

Cincinnati running back Isaiah Pead is not expected to miss any more time due to a sore knee. He should return to face NC State on Thursday night.

Good news for fantasy owners, who certainly hope for more production than Pead could muster against Fresno State in week one.

Pead will miss Saturday's spring game, but should be ready to go this fall.

ESPN.com's Brian Bennett reports that Cincinnati running back Isaiah Pead left practice following a knee injury, and he was later seen walking with a limp. An MRI is scheduled.

Pead broke out at the conference level last year, and we believe he's on the cusp of becoming a national star. Hopefully this is just a minor tweak; one that will keep him out of the spring game, but ready to go in the summer.

New Cincinnati coach Butch Jones told Cincinnati.com that, "Isaiah Pead has had a great offseason in terms of our strength and conditioning program. I've watched a lot of film on him. I'm excited about him."

2010 may be the year when Pead explodes on the national scene. He was a highly-regarded Brian Kelly recruit, and he found the endzone 11 times on only 141 touches from scrimmage in 2009. In other words, Pead is a playmaker.

Cincinnati running back Isaiah Pead ran for a career high 175 yards and added a touchdown in the Bearcats' win over West Virginia on Friday.

When given the carries, Pead has been very effective this season.  This was his first 100-yard game of 2009, but he does have 10 combined touchdowns.

In an interview with ESPN's Brian Bennett, Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly believes running back Isaiah Pead is ready to step up. "We really think the year of learning the offense for Isaiah Pead is really going to pay dividends. We think he's got a chance to be a really good football player for us. He's got the speed, he's got the ability to catch the football for us," Kelly said.

Pead was one of our sleeper running backs last year, but only carried the ball 30 times for 194 yards. It is tough to put much stock in the Cincinnati run game. However, Pead is someone that could breakout and one to continue to watch.
