Former Michigan senior WR Darryl Stonum revealed via twitter that he has transferred to Baylor.
Stonum was dismissed from Michigan in mid-January after he was sentenced to ten days in jail after violating his probation, which stemmed from a DUI arrest. The new charges were triggered after the former Wolverine was pulled over for a traffic violation after his driver's license was taken away. Stonum started 25 of 36 career games at Michigan but has not played since 2010 after redshirting last season to work through his off-field issues. As a sophomore, he recorded 49 catches for 633 yards and four touchdowns, but his two DUIs may be the most meaningful stat. Stonum will be allowed to play immediately for Baylor after enrolling as a graduate student. Sat, Jul 21, 2012 10:04:00 AM

Michigan dismissed Darryl Stonum after the receiver was in violation of his probation.

Stonum has had one too many run-ins with the law, which is unfortunate because coach Brady Hoke planned to use him as a key contributor on offense and special teams next season much like former coach Rich Rodriguez did in 2010. Stonum was redshirted this past season after catching 49 passes for 633 yards and averaging 23.3 yards on 22 kick returns in '10. As a graduate student with one year of eligibility remaining, Stonum is free to transfer anywhere without sitting out a season.

Michigan wide receiver Darryl Stonum caught just three passes on Saturday, but did so for 121 yards and two touchdowns in the win over UMASS.

Stonum had just 67 yards receiving coming into the game but seems to be developing a rapport with Denard Robinson.  He is one to watch.

Michigan wide receiver Darryl Stonum spent three nights in jail for probation violations in June.  Violations included failing to submit to random alcohol testing, leaving the state without consent and failing to report to probation officers.

Apparently Stonum didn't think the probation rules applied to him so he got to spend a couple wonderful summer nights in a Washtenaw County jail cell.  No word of any further punishment from coach Rich Rodriguez.
