Much maligned Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount returned for last night's Civil War against Oregon State, rushing nine times for 51 yards and a touchdown.
Blount provided the Ducks with a spark as they were trailing by nine points in the third quarter when he found the endzone.  He shook off a few tackles and ran a few guys over, and looked like the Blount we'd see all season.  It will be interesting to see if Blount garners more carries in the Rose Bowl against Ohio State. Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount has picked up the intensity in practice since being reinstated on Monday. "Today was really his best day and he really seemed to be getting back into the flow of things and getting his feel back," running backs coach Gary Campbell said after practice on Wednesday.

Immediate playing time is not a given for Blount just because he no longer running with the scout team.  He'll need to continue to shake off the rust before he moves up the depth chart.

ESPN.com's Ted Miller writes of a "reduced role" for Oregon's newly reinstated running back LeGarrette Blount, especially in light of LaMichael James' emergence.

We'll speculate that Blount's "reduced role" could see him serve as a short-yardage or goal line specialist. And while this should be intriguing to fantasy owners, it's too risky to bank on Blount at this point in the fantasy season.

Oregon has officially reinstated running back LeGarrette Blount.

Guessing the number of carries Blount will command from here on out would be like pulling a number out of a hat at this point.  LaMichael James has looked great, but given that Blount has been practicing, he should be close to game ready immediately.  Expect a few carries, maybe close to the goal line, but don't expect Blount to be a playoff savior.

Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount is still running with the Duck's' scout team.  This week he is pretending to be Stanford's Toby Gerhart. I

It is unclear when Blount will come back, but with the Ducks rolling since the opening week lose to Boise State, don't expect there to be major changes to the offense. Still we could see Blount easing his way into the rotation with some short yardage or goal line carries in the next few weeks.

Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott and suspended Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount will meet soon on his bid for reinstatement.

This isn't new news, just a follow up to remind you of his potential reinstatement, which could come as early as this week. With the way LaMichael James has played, it's not yet clear if Blount will play a significant role if he is indeed reinstated.

Oregon coach Chip Kelly said that running back LeGarrette Blount could be reinstated at a later date.  "He has a rigid set of conditions he must live up to and there are certainly no guarantees in place," Kelly said. "This merely provides him the opportunity for my reconsideration in the future should he meet those demands."

No timetable was given for Blount's possible return, but the door has been opened.  The question now is, will Blount meet Kelly's demands?

Oregon coach Chip Kelly is expected to address the media after practice on Friday to discuss the possible reinstatement of running back LeGarrette Blount.

Blount has been doing all the right things: attending class, working with the scout team and even issued an apology for punching Boise State's Bryon Hout on Thursday.  Blount's return would be a big boost to the Ducks and fantasy owners.

Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount has been suspended for the season, though he will remain on scholarship with an opportunity to continue to work towards his degree.

And just like that one of the nation's most promising backs is done, with only -5 yards on the season. Time for a lot of fantasy owners to circle the wagons.

No charges have been filed against Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount after punching Boise State's Byron Hout.  After the incident Blount had to be forcibly removed from the field by teammates, Ducks' training staff and several police officers.

No word on any suspensions yet from coach Chip Kelly.  Given Blount's track record, we expect harsh punishment to come his way.

Oregon running back LeGarrette Blount couldn't muster any positive yardage against Boise State Thursday night, but he did finish with a bang, landing a punch against a Boise State player at the end of the game.

This type of action that will put Blount on the bench for at least one game. His antics with his teammates after the fact may even lead to the end of his career at Oregon. If LaMichael James is available, he is worth a look.

Running back LeGarrette Blount rushed seven times for 52 yards in Oregon's scrimmage on Saturday.

So much for the concerns over Oregon's offensive line.  Blount is a bulldozer and could easily be this year's top fantasy back.
