Former LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson questions game plan in the BCS title game.
Jefferson pleaded innocent Thursday to his involvement in a August bar fight. Meanwhile, he is guilty of putrid judgment -- and bad timing what with the grilling he will receive at the NFL combine -- of speaking out against the Tigers' game plan during their loss to Alabama in the BCS title game. Jordan Jefferson threw for 208 yards, 1 TD and added 53 yards and a score rushing in No. 1 LSU’s 41-17 win over No. 3 Arkansas.

With Jefferson playing the entire game for the first time this season, the LSU offense was balanced and showed quick-strike ability against their SEC West foe. Jefferson’s lone blemish during an afternoon in which he totaled 261 yards and a pair of touchdowns was a third-quarter interception – his first of the season. He was 18-of-29 for 208 yards and 1/1 passing and 7-53-1 on the ground with the TD covering 48 yards.

Baton Rouge police took 49-50 pairs of tennis shoes from the apartment of LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson.

According to a source said to be close to the investigation, police will attempt to match a footprint on the shirt of one of the victims in a fight that took place at an off-campus bar late in the evening of Aug. 19. DNA evidence and other items were also taken from the senior's apartment.

LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson and three of his teammates accused of being involved in a bar fight will meet with police Tuesday.

A bar fight that resulted in injuries requiring hospitalization and witnesses pointing fingers at Jefferson does not bode well. While Baton Rouge police will attempt to sort out the details, including interviewing Jefferson and three teammates Tuesday, LSU coach Les Miles is steaming mad that his players at the very least broke curfew. A demanding opener against Oregon is Labor Day evening.

LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson completed just 4-of-14 passes for 104 yards and an interception in Saturday's spring game. The sexy pick to contend for the job, Zach Mettenberger completed 5-of-8 passes for 86 yards, including an 60-yard bomb for a score.  But offensive coordinator Steve Kragthorpe still contends there is no quarterback controversy. "No, Jordan’s our starter," Kragthorpe said. "Jordan’s had a great spring."

I'm not sure what is more disappointing to LSU fans, Jefferson's numbers or the fact that the starting job appears to be an open and shut case. The Tigers open the season against Oregon on Sept. 3. Jefferson better come out of the gate hot or we'll be hearing the moans of change coming from Baton Rouge early.

LSU athletic director Joe Alleva has confirmed that Les Miles will remain as LSU's head coach and will not move to Ann Arbor to coach Michigan.

Michigan's coaching search continues and now all focus will shift to the city of San Diego and Brady Hoke.

Despite being named SEC Offensive Player of the Week, LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson will continue to share snaps with Jarrett Lee.

Jefferson will start and get the bulk of the snaps.

Jordan Jefferson will start at quarterback for LSU when they face Auburn in a battle of unbeatens on Saturday, but Jarrett Lee will see some snaps as well. “I think the differing styles we play when both guys are in the game makes it difficult for the defense to prepare during the week,” coach Les Miles said. “The ability to inject a different style quarterback, the defenses don’t necessarily know what we’re thinking."

Every week LSU stays undefeated and Les Miles stays employed is a surprise to me. But hey, Miles' unorthodox style -- particularly his out-of-the-box clock management -- seems to work.

Despite terrible play so far this year, LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson will get the start against Florida this weekend.  While Jefferson will start the game, Jarrett Lee will also play.

Until there is some semblance of steady quarterbacking, LSU will have to skate by on their defense.

Once again LSU quarterback Jordan Jefferson was bailed out by a stellar defense, special teams play, and a punishing ground game as Jefferson went 10-of-22 passing for 76 yards and two interceptions in a win over West Virginia.

I would not be surprised to see Jarrett Lee get some more snaps in an effort to spark the dismal passing game.

Jordan Jefferson has led the Tigers to wins over its first two opponents, but coach Les Miles has said that he is going to take a long look at Jarrett Lee.  Miles said "We’re going to continue to evaluate our quarterback situation and, frankly, we’re going to expect more out of the position."

Regardless of who claims the starting job, neither is of much fantasy worth.

While Jordan Jefferson looked terrible tonight, the LSU defense had a huge night against Vanderbilt as they held them to just three points and 135 yards of offense.  Jefferson went just 8-of-20 for 96 yards and an interception.

LSU only dominated this game because it was against Vandy.  Before you rush to pick up the Tigers, just remember how many yards North Carolina put up against them.

During the Tigers' 100-play scrimmage, the offense lit up the stat sheets.  Quarterback Jordan Jefferson and Jarrett Lee combined to go 22-of-40 for 275 yards and five touchdowns.  Wide receiver Terrence Toliver had a team-high 93 yards on three catches with two going for touchdowns.  Tight end Deangelo Peterson had two touchdown grabs as well.  On the ground, Richard Murphy had 61 yards on six carries and two touchdowns.

While there is certainly talent on the LSU offense, it still has not come together.  Keep an eye on the development of this offense as it could be good if there is better line and quarterback play.
