Ohio State made it clear that Terrelle Pryor wouldn’t play a down in 2011 if he returned to school due to failure to cooperate with the NCAA’s investigation of Ohio State.
Terrelle Pryor received a letter from Ohio State athletic director Gene Smith declaring the star quarterback would be ineligible for the 2011 season, had he returned for his senior season, for not cooperating with NCAA officials in their investigation of OSU. While the letter states that Pryor is banned from using team facilities, contacting recruits and receiving complementary tickets to home games, Smith made it clear Pryor can still use campus facilities writing, "I would encourage you to complete your degree." Pryor will likely enter the 2011 NFL Supplemental Draft. Tue, Aug 2, 2011 10:42:00 AM

QB Terrelle Pryor announced Tuesday that he will not play for Ohio State University this fall.

Transferring to another university is unlikely since Pryor is required to serve his five-game suspension at any NCAA school. Dropping to an NAIA program is another option, as is entering the NFL's supplemental draft. Highly-touted incoming freshman Braxton Miller is the favorite to take over for Pryor, whose absence significantly downgrades the fantasy value of Ohio State's remaining offensive players.

It's unlikely that any NFL team would be willing to use a high pick on Ohio State QB Terrelle Pryor if he decides to enter the supplemental draft.

The NFL's supplemental draft is slated to take place in July, and with Pryor facing a five-game suspension from the NCAA, there's a chance he could enter the pool. Of course, according to former Cowboys vice president Gil Brandt, Pryor would likely draw nothing more than a third- or fourth-round pick from any interested club. Those hoping to nab him as a late-season fantasy option now have one more hurdle to clear.

Things just keep getting murkier for Terrelle Pryor and Vehiclegate.  According to recent findings, Pryor has been driving on a suspended license.  It appears that Pryor's license was suspended for no proof of insurance and is in effect through mid-August.

Wow.  This is getting ugly.

Ohio State head coach Jim Tressel resigned Tuesday.

Tressel was already facing a five-game suspension for providing false information to NCAA investigators, and he'll now turn the program over to interim head coach Luke Fickell. The loss of Tressel certainly won't help a team that will already be missing a few impact starters, including QB Terrelle Pryor, for the first five games of the 2011 season. Expect plenty of rust when the "Buckeye Five" return against Nebraska.

The NCAA served Ohio State with a "notice of allegations" stemming from current and former players selling memorabilia to a local tattoo parlor, according to the Columbus Dispatch. The NCAA states that head coach Jim Tressel knowingly provided false information to the NCAA and Ohio State fielded ineligible players last season.

Ohio State could face a post-season ban or have to forfeit their share of the 2010 Big Ten title. The NCAA could also expand on Coach Tressel's five-game suspension. Ohio State will meet with the NCAA infractions committee on Aug. 12.  However, Terrelle Pryor, Daniel Herron, DeVier Posey, Mike Adams, Solomon Thomas and Jordan Whiting will not face any further suspensions. They are suspended for the first five games of the 2011 season.

A rumor has been making the rounds today that Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor is considering entering the supplemental draft (if there even is one this year), instead of returning for his senior year. However the rumor was shot down quickly by Adam Jardy of Buckeye Sports Bulletin via twitter: "Talked to someone very close to Terrelle Pryor who told me he has never once mentioned the Supplemental Draft. Stop that rumor right now."

Let's think about this one for a minute. Unlike the Michael Floyd situation -- who isn't going to enter the supplemental draft either after all but being reinstated by Notre Dame last week -- Pryor's situation has not changed since he decided to come back. Unless you've been booted from the team, the supplemental draft is typically not a wise option for college players.

Quarterback Terrelle Pryor, running back Daniel Herron, receiver DeVier Posey, left tackle Mike Adams and defensive end Solomon Thomas have all kept their pledge to coach Jim Tressell to return to Ohio State for the 2011 season.

Color me shocked. I figured having to sit out the first five games of the season and the lure of the NFL would cause one or two to renege on their commitment. I give them all credit for holding true to their word.

Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor will undergo surgery to stabilize a ligament in his right foot after hurting it in the Sugar Bowl.

Pryor will have plenty of time to heal as he serves his five game suspension at the beginning of the season.

Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor, running back Daniel Herron, receiver DeVier Posey, left tackle Mike Adams and defensive end Solomon Thomas have all pledged to return to the Buckeyes for 2011, according to coach Jim Tressel. Apparently Tressel told the five players -- who are suspended for the first five game of the 2011 season -- that they needed to make a decision regarding their future before the Sugar Bowl.

While this sounds all fine and dandy, Buckeye fans might want to wait till after Jan. 15 to start to celebrate. Given the circumstances, I wouldn't be surprised if they end up leaving anyway.

As quickly as the rumor of Ohio State coach Jim Tressel's demise started, the flames were quickly doused by Buckeyes Athletic Director Gene Smith's tweet: "Merry Xmas everyone!! Go back to drinking your eggnog!! Rumors not true."

As we originally suspected, the rumors appear to be the by-product of negative recruiting.

The NCAA has suspended Ohio State football players Daniel Herron, DeVier Posey, Terrelle Pryor, Mike Adams and Solomon Thomas for the first five games of the 2011 season.  Jordan Whiting was suspended for one game. They also must repay benefits received ranging between $1,000 to $2,500 to charity.

Looking for a bright side? None of the players will be suspended for the AllState Sugar Bowl on Jan. 4. However, given the length of the suspensions you have to wonder if Pryor, Herron and Posey will consider forgoing their senior seasons and enter the 2011 NFL Draft.

Several sources are reporting that Ohio State officials are looking into possible extra benefits for football players at a local tattoo parlor.

Of course there is no official confirmation as to who is potentially involved, but names like quarterback Terrelle Pryor, running back Daniel Herron and receiver DeVier Posey are being tossed about. "I paid for my tattoos," Pryor said on his twitter account. You can bet there will be more on this story in the coming days.

Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns and added another 49 yards on the ground in the Buckeyes win over Michigan.

Pryor completed 18 of 27 passes and was only intercepted once.  Pryor likely will face an SEC opponent in Ohio State's upcoming bowl game.
