According to coach David Shaw, Stanford receiver Chris Owusu (concussions) will likely not play in the Fiesta Bowl against Oklahoma State.
That would mean Owusu would finish his college career on the sideline. With three concussions in 13 months, any chance at playing the NFL may be in doubt as well. Owusu, who has 102-career receptions, missed the last three games. Sat, Dec 17, 2011 05:46:00 PM

Stanford receiver Chris Owusu (concussion) will be held out of Saturday's game against Oregon.

After suffering his third concussion in little more than a year against Oregon State last week, Owusu's status was questionable at best. The senior is second on the Cardinal with 35 receptions.

Concussion could sideline Stanford receiver Chris Owusu for the Saturday’s top-10 battle against Oregon.

Owusu suffered his third concussion in little more than a year and had to be removed from the field Saturday against Oregon State. While tests will be performed as the week progresses, it does not look good for Owusu’s availability against Oregon in a battle of top-10 teams. Owusu is 35-376-2 this season with his reception total second on the team. As it is, the Cardinal will likely be without Zach Ertz (22 rec.) because of a knee injury. Tight end Levine Toilolo suffered an "upper-body" injury against the Beavers and did not return. These injuries could leave leading Heisman candidate Andrew Luck shorthanded for a game in which he could lockup the hardware.

Stanford receiver Chris Owusu (conussion) is expected to play Saturday against Washington.

Andrew Luck has been spreading the ball around nicely this season as five pass catchers have at least 15 receptions. The leader of the pack is Owusu, with 25. The senior suffered a concussion against Washington State last week.

Stanford senior receiver Chris Owusu has emerged as Heisman candidate Andrew Luck's top receiver.

With the Cardinal's leading receivers from a year ago having graduated, the opportunity was there for Owusu to step up and be the go-to man for Luck. Owusu is doing a very good job of that. He was 7-106-1 in an easy win over Duke on Saturday, giving him consecutive weeks of seven receptions to open his senior season. With 14 catches, he’s more than halfway to his 2010 total of 25.

Coming off an injury-riddled 2010, senior Chris Owusu is working to become the top target of his Heisman-candidate teammate.

If there ever was an opportunity to greatly improve one’s stock and place himself on the radar of NFL scouts, it is Owusu in Palo Alto. With Andrew Luck’s top receivers from a year ago – Doug Baldwin and Ryan Whalen – graduated, Owusu is striving to be Luck’s favorite target. In a 2010 campaign that was disrupted by a concussion and a knee injury, he managed to catch 25 passes. "We’re a different when he plays," said coach David Shaw.

Stanford receiver Chris Owusu missed Monday's practice as he continues to recover from injuries last season.  "He's got nothing to prove to me," coach David Shaw said.

Owusu has all the talent and the quarterback to have a big time season. He just needs to get healthy and on the field.

Stanford wide receiver Chris Owusu is practicing and is expected to play in the Orange Bowl.  He has missed the last three games with an undisclosed injury.

Owusu is a difference maker when healthy and posted nine catches for 165 yards and a touchdown in his last game against Arizona.  He has dealt with numerous injuries this year (concussion, knee, and ankle) but could be in line for a big bowl game if Stanford chooses to attack Virginia Tech through the air.

Stanford wide receiver Chris Owusu missed The Big Game with an undisclosed injury.  It was his second straight game on the sidelines.

Owusu was seen on crutches and favoring his right ankle although there is no official word on his injury.  The Cardinal play Oregon State next weekend and it's probably safe to say at this point that he won't be available.

Stanford wide receiver Chris Owusu didn't play against Arizona State after suffering an undisclosed injury late in the week during practice.

It has been a frustrating year for Owusu and especially his owners due to head coach Jim Harbaugh's refusal to let the outside world know about injuries.  Hopefully the zero didn't cost you your matchup this week.

Stanford wide receiver Chris Owusu set career-highs with nine catches for 165 yards and a touchdown in the win over Arizona.  He added one rush for 12 yards.

Owusu has been waiting for his big breakout game all season since dealing with various injuries (knee, concussion).  He is an explosive player that can get deep on anyone.  The Cardinal are a run first, play-action team but Owusu has plenty of upside down the stretch with Andrew Luck firing on all cylinders.

Stanford wide receiver Chris Owusu played sparingly and only had one catch for 16 yards in the win at Washington.  He has been dealing with a concussion that last couple of weeks.

The score (41-0) probably meant that Stanford could afford to keep Owusu on the sidelines.  He caught his only reception on the second series of the game and was quiet after.  It has been a tough season for Owusu who has only played in five games and has 15 catches for 229 yards and two touchdowns.  It's probably time to drop him in non-dynasty leagues.

Stanford wide receiver Chris Owusu didn't play in the win over Washington State.  He was dressed but didn't participate in pre-game drills.

Hopefully fantasy owners were able to get him out of their lineups before it was too late.  There is no word on what injury kept him out of the game, but he had been dealing with a concussion.  He has been banged up all season and might be a good bye low candidate for the stretch run of the season.

Stanford wide receiver Chris Owusu is dressed but didn't participate in any pre-game drills.

It may be too late, but if you have time you might want to look into another option at WR.

Stanford receiver Chris Owusu is day-to-day after being knocked out and suffering a mild concussion in last week's game against Oregon. "He's been symptom-free since Monday and said he felt better on Sunday," coach Jim Harbaugh said.

Based on Harbaugh's comments Owusu looks to be on track to play this week against USC, but you never know with concussions.
