Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert has elected to declare himself eligible for the NFL Draft, ESPN reports.  Gabbert had a huge performance in the Insight Bowl against Iowa and has decided to take his skills to the next level.
This will be a huge hit for Gary Pinkel and Co. but they have a nice pipeline behind Gabbert, including his little brother Tyler Gabbert. Mon, Jan 3, 2011 08:30:00 PM

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert was impressive (41-57-434) in Tuesday night's Insight Bowl, however a late pick six gave the Hawkeyes the win in a surprisingly exciting contest.

When Gabbert is on there aren't many better, and it's this ability that may have him moving on from Columbia when it becomes time to declare for the NFL Draft.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert and tight end Michael Egnew are going to see what their 2011 NFL Draft status looks like before deciding on their statuses for next season.

We'd guess that Egnew seems more likely to go ahead and make the jump, while Gabbert could likely use another year of seasoning at Mizzou.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert threw for 208 yards and two scores while running for 89 yards and another touchdowns as the Tigers took care of Kansas State.

Gabbert hasn't had any real breakout performances, but he's been a steady quarterback for a team enjoying another fine season. I know, not enough for rabid fantasy owners.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert was held to 95 passing yards and no scores as the Red Raiders put the clamps on the Tiger offense.

This was not a typical Gabbert performance; he'll bounce back.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert is doing well after taking some shots last week against Nebraska. "We had a practice last night (Sunday), and he looked really good,” coach Gary Pinkel said during a Monday teleconference. “He’s a very tough guy, as you all know. They got after him pretty good.”

Gabbert should be ready to go this week against Texas Tech.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert was held to 199 yards and a score against Nebraska. He did run it 22 times for 74 yards.

Gabbert, one of the conference's top quarterbacks, will look to rebound next week against Texas Tech.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert completed 30-of-42 passes for 308 yards and a touchdown in the team's win over then-#1 Oklahoma.

Gabbert has only thrown for three scores in one contest, so while he's been a great game manager for Mizzou, he's struggled to post fantasy-worthy numbers.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert completed 31-of-47 passes for 361 yards and three scores as the Tigers rolled over Texas A&M.

This is Gabbert's first three-score output of the season, and this one could be a sign of things to come.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert (hip) is expected to return to practice today and appears to be in good spirits. “I’m probably about 109 percent right now,” Gabbert said.  "One hundred eight, 107, have to be at 110 percent to perform at a high level. But 108 will do.”

Sounds like Gabbert will be ready both mentally and physically this week for Texas A&M.  We've officially given Gabbert an eight percent boost in his projections for this week.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert missed the entire fourth quarter of Saturday's win over Colorado with a hip pointer injury. Gabbert threw for 179 yards and two touchdowns before leaving the game.

Freshman quarterback James Franklin was able to get some work in Gabbert's absence. I'd expect Gabbert to be on the field next week against Texas A&M.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert could only post 187 yards passing with two total touchdowns in the blowout win over Miami, Ohio.

If you had told Gabbert's owners that Mizzou would score 51 they would have likely been as giddy as a schoolboy. Instead they feel like they've been sent to the principal's office. Gabbert will look to rebound against Colorado in two weeks.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert finished 28-of-51 for 351 yards, one TD, and two interceptions in a win over San Diego State.  He also ran for a TD.

The game seemed to be over after Gabbert's second interception in the fourth quarter, but he tossed a TD to T.J. Moe in the final minute to steal the win.  The Tigers didn't mount much of a running game, which led to Gabbert shouldering the load offensively.  He should post good numbers against Miami (OH) next week.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert went 26-of-31 for 217 passing yards and one TD in a blowout win over McNeese State.  He also completed his first 15 passes of the game.

Ultimately this is the danger of playing your studs against clearly inferior competition.  Mizzou got the running game going early, and Gabbert was efficient but didn't need to do much.  He has another great matchup with San Diego State next week.

Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert completed 34 of 48 passes for 281 yards and two touchdowns in a win over Illinois.  He also had five carries for -10 yards and lost a fumble.

Gabbert was sharp in the passing game and rallied the Tigers from a 10-point halftime deficit.  He took a couple shots on running plays, which I would assume you'll see fewer of in the coming weeks.  Look for Gabbert to continue his hot start against McNeese State next week.
