Illinois running back Jason Ford hopes another big effort at Indiana can shed his slow start.
Illinois running back Jason Ford is working hard to fill the spikes of Mikel Leshoure but will first have to stay out of trouble. Ford was arrested on Sunday for driving on a suspended license. Head coach Ron Zook says that the issue will be handled internally.
Illinois running back Jason Ford knows he has only one year left to be the feature back for the Illini so he has worked hard to slim down. Ford hopes to be around 225 by the fall so he can break more long runs much like Mikel Leshoure and Rashard Mendenhall before him.
Apparently Illinois running back Jason Ford is not happy playing second fiddle to Mikel LeShoure. On Monday Ford tweeted: "Givin up on EVERYTHING! Just want to go home to my daughter!'' and "Tired of workin hard and not getting nothin out of it! Bout to say (to heck with) it.''
After 172 yards and three scores last week, bruising freshman running back Jason Ford established himself as threat for the Illini. The job is not quite his yet, however, speedback Daniel Dufrene is still a threat to see carries.
