Michigan senior WR Roy Roundtree suffered a knee injury last Wednesday and underwent an arthroscopic procedure on Friday.
Head coach Brady Hoke put the receiver's recovery timetable at two weeks. Roundtree is the team's most experienced receiver, but his touches dropped significantly last season, from 72 catches to 19. Jerald Robinson will likely step into the starting lineup until Roundtree returns. Mon, Aug 13, 2012 09:34:00 AM

Ray Roundtree's move back to flanker from split end should result in increased opportunities.

Roundtree caught only 19 passes last season under the direction of first-year coach Brady Hoke and OC Al Borges. In 2010, Rich Rodriguez’s final season in Ann Arbor, he caught 72 passes. The difference in numbers was due to a change in responsibility, particularly an emphasis on downfield blocking. The move to flanker, where there is a void with the departure of Junior Hemingway, should open things up again for Roundtree as a pass catcher.

Michigan wide receiver Roy Roundtree was deemed probable (bruising) against Notre Dame, and he proceeded to gut out eight catches for 82 yards and a score in the win in South Bend.

We didn't have too much hope for Wolverine wide receivers entering the season, however Denard Robinson's record-setting start has us rethinking things. It appears that it will take about 10 men in the box to stop the explosive quarterback, and when he steps back to throw fellas like Roundtree find themselves with a lot of open space (and not too many opposing jerseys) around them.

Michigan wide receiver Roy Roundtree (hamstring) has seen his injury status updated from questionable to probable.

The Wolverines enjoy spreading the touches around, so Roundtree is a risky Big Ten play even in a game that should feature plenty of offensive fireworks.

AnnArbor.com reports that Michigan wide receiver Roy Roundtree (internal bruising) is doubtful for this week's game at Notre Dame.

The Irish will likely make Michigan throw it to win, thus the other Wolverine wide receivers (Darryl Stonum, Kelvin Grady and Martavious Odoms) will need to step up.

Roundtree came into the 10/31 game against Illinois with just two catches for the year, but since then has 14 receptions for 218 yards (and today's touchdown).  He may be worth a spot on your roster, especially in Big Ten leagues.
