Purdue head coach Danny Hope announced on his radio show Monday that senior QB Caleb TerBush will start the team's game against Notre Dame.
Just an hour before the Boilermakers win over Eastern Kentucky, TerBush was suspended for the game after violating unspecified team rules. Replacement Robert Marve played fairly well in TerBush's absence, throwing for three touchdowns, but the latter started all 13 games last year and will likely keep the job for the rest of the season, barring unexpected circumstances. Caleb Terbush leaves spring game as No. 1 QB for the Boilermakers

According to coach Danny Hope, TerBush progressed well last year and as the season went on he gained the confidence needed to be a starting QB in the Big 10. TerBush shouldn’t get too comfortable. Behind him are Rob Henry and Robert Marve, two quarterbacks with starting experience of their own.

Caleb TerBush started all 13 games for the Boilermakers last season, but the spring means compeition.

With TerBush and Robert Marve, coach Danny Hope has plenty of experience under center. It will be interesting to see how far Marve pushes TerBush, who threw for 1,905 yards and 13/6 in his first season as a starter. Rob Henry will also be in the mix, but will not see as many reps as TerBush and Marve as he recovers from an ACL injury that cost him all of 2011.

Purdue quarterback Caleb TerBush has been declared academically ineligible. Rob Henry will now serve as the backup to Robert Marve.

From a value-to-his-team standpoint, there may not be a more valuable player in the Big Ten than Marve. Should he struggle with injuries then the whole Boiler offense will struggle mightily.
