Following a lost season due to academics, Michael Smith is back catching passes for the Huskies.
The Huskies failed to go to a bowl last season and a large part for the downfall under first-year coach Paul Pasqualoni was the lack of a receiver that could come up with a big play on a timely basis. Though Smith could not play in games, he was able to remain in game shape by working with the scout team. Smith caught 46 passes for 615 yards and 2 TDs in 2010. He has 73 career receptions. UConn wide receiver Michael Smith caught four passes for 130 yards and a score in the win over Buffalo.

Smith was Mr. Big Play this weekend, though we don't expect this type of production to continue, even with the switch to Cody Endres.
